Excuse me, everyone. I don't mean to be a nuisance...

*Sonico pauses there, her breathing soft and shallow as though she's in some difficulty*

I am looking for some help. Just someone to help me with some grocery shopping. I really don't want to inconvenience anyone but at the moment -

*Here she stops to cough. It's only a small one, but Sonico gasps as though in some kind of pain. She is as quiet as she can be about it, though. When she speaks again her voice is slightly more of a whimper*

If anyone can help, that'd be much appreciated -

*It sounds like she might have said more but she stops her message there. It was exactly why she didn't use video in the first place - so people wouldn't see how much she is hurting*

[She doesn't sound alright. Aya is all too familiar with trying to be quiet about pain.]

I'll help you with your groceries, so don't worry about that.

Huh? What's wrong? You don't sound well.

[There's a hint of worry in Athrun's voice.]

Oh, I'm perfectly well. Or, maybe not perfectly... I'm perhaps a little bit sore.

*She has to pause there to bite her lip as she breathes in again*

Okay. Maybe I'm more than just a little sore... Just a couple of fractured ribs. They'll heal soon enough.

Just a little injury. It'll be fine. Eventually.

*Another moment or two before she seems able to speak again*

It just means that..it's difficult for me right now. To lift things and carry things. I can come with you though.

Uhhh... Ain't no shittin' healer or nothin' but that sounds really bad, sweetheart. Didja get sick or somethin'?

*No video for Sonico right now, nopes*

Not quite sick. More like...injured?

*Trying to make all this sound as easy and breezy as possible*

Okaaaay, the hell'd y' do?

[In the video, she can see the clawed joints of Namur's gargoyle wings growing quickly from his shoulders. In moments, his wings stretch out to either side, and he gives them a couple flaps to get the feel of them.]

*Sonico can't help but be a little hurt by that - she didn't do anything, other than nearly get killed*

I got crushed. There was this...bird. I think it wanted to eat me. But it just...crushed me. Then I got away. So it's...

*Pause for a wince*

A'ight, where y' at? Can find y' but it might take too long if y' don't help. If yer somewhere mostly safe, don't move, [He points a finger at the camera for emphasis] cuz that's a great way t' make yer shit worse.

*Her voice is soft, in part because it hurts to speak, in part because she doesn't want him to worry*

I'm okay. I'm at my apartment, safe and sound.

*Ish. She gives him her address in Genessia, just in case*

But I'm okay.

Yeah, sure sounds like it. Why the hell ain't y' usin' video for once, huh?

[His skin changes as he transforms further, shifting from the more muted undersea blue to a brilliant wave-patterned larimar. He checks the address and nods to himself. Shouldn't be too hard to find.]

Be there in a few minutes. Yer gettin' checked at the hospital, sweetheart. Kick my ass later if y' don't like it.

It'll be fine..It's just a couple of bruised ribs...

*But when he gets there, Sonico has to lean against the wall to open the door to him. She's wearing a tshirt so any injuries are hidden. Apart three long red scratch marks that are visible on her legs. Maybe she shouldn't have worn shorts. Doesn't make a difference when her face is a picture of pain*

Hi, Namur. Told you I'd be here. Told you I'd be fine.

Fractured ribs?! Forget grocery shopping, you should be going to the hospital! Where are you right now?

[Athrun is already preparing to contact emergency services.]

N-no. It's okay! I've been to the hospital... Now I'm resting at home. Please don'worry!

*Except she says it all so quickly that she runs out of breath. So when she breathes again she has to try not to cry out in pain*

It doesn't sound like a little injury if you can't lift anything. Have you seen a doctor?

[They can get groceries after seeing a doctor.]

Okay, maybe it's actually a big injury.

..but I've seen a doctor. I'm not dying at least. I'm just - a bit sore.

*Understatement of the year*

There wasn't much they could do for me at the hospital, so I'm just looking after myself.

*Speaking so much is painful, so she has to turn her face from her phone so that she can catch her breath is the least painful way possible*

Yeah, fine ain't the word I'd use. Shit girl, I can smell the hurt comin' off y'.

[And traces of... Grell?

A'ight, listen. I- y' gotta-

[Namur holds out his hands like he's going to pick her up, then remembers she said something about her ribs. So that's a bad idea. He moves his hands a different way, maybe if he carries her- but no, that'd put a lot of pressure on her torso, so it's still a bad idea. Finally, he balls his hands into fists and clenches them for a moment, letting out a frustrated grunt.]

Damn it.

[He takes a deep breath- and regrets it because the scent and taste of her blood in the air suddenly take a place front and center in his mind. He rubs his hands over his face, sinking into a crouch.]

Shit. Okay. We can work this out. Jus'. Need a way t' carry y' without puttin' pressure on yer ribs. Or droppin' y'.

*Sonico bows her head at his comments - she was silly to think that she could hide her injuries for any length of time. She of all people should know very well how good the sense of scent is on a shark. She glances up again only to see his hands clenching, so she quickly bows her head deeper in apology.

Finally, though, she does look back up at him, looking over his body carefully to try to figure out a way to make it work*

I could...try to lie over your shoulder. Or - we could just walk?

You've been discharged? Well...I guess if they thought you were able to go home...

...You can send me your grocery list. I'll do your shopping for you.

*She then sends him a short list - some fruit and noodles, vegetables etc. She's maybe deliberately left off the junk so he doesn't see the crap she can eat*

The maid appeared on screen, looking more than a little displeased. She appeared to currently be in Castlevania considering the decorations behind her. "I can be of assistance, but first I would like to know what is wrong."

And she wouldn't take no for an answer.

Do you have a cold?

[Or a cough would be another thing at least. But she wasn't sure that would be the case.]
