[The video cuts in at random points, mainly over the central city and then over the four districts. The angle is always several hundred yards overhead and after dark. Only then does Bridget turn the vidphone towards herself with the city glow coming from below to make her features at least somewhat noticeable against a blackened sky. Just like a ghost story told by someone with a flashlight under their chin.]

The cities look about the same from above, but that hardly means there isn't movement under the light and waters. There have been a number of new arrivals lately. I welcome you and wish you luck. So far the safest place seems to be the city you arrived in. When you feel more comfortable there will be opportunities to explore four other regions in the cardinal compass points. But please be on guard as not all places are as secure as they may appear.

To a certain extent, yes. Two of the gate worlds are fairly straight-forward, but the other two take a bit more of an un-ordinary type of ability. One tends towards magic or at least skills other than the physical while the other... Well, there are creatures there who can only be destroyed with very specific means. Silver bullets, wooden steaks, summoning circles, salt bombs, ceremonies at specific times of the year.

I know what I'm planning on doing now, but a girl has to wonder... what's so dangerous about the four regions that make them so dangerous?
