[ Action | Open ] π Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. - Buddha
Who: Open to all!
What: Koumyou Sanzo's arrival in Genessia.
Where: The Bay
When: Mid-November
Warnings: Nah. A single manga panel of Koumyou's death, but it's super not-graphic by itself.
But ultimately, impermanence is our only truth.

Koumyou's eyes opened. He didn't remember closing them. The last thing he remembered was telling a young Kouryuu -- Genjyo Sanzo -- to be strong... and the briefest sensation of being taken apart. His head had come off before the pain could truly set in. And now he was... here. Staring up at the ceiling of a... cave?
The priest blinked, and lifted his hands above his face. They were both there. He patted his shoulders, and the familiar crinkle of the Seiten Sutra greeted him.
This was not what he'd expected of the afterlife. If he'd expected anything at all. Reincarnation? Even he wasn't sure. But if he was to be reincarnated, what was he doing here in this familiar body, in these familiar robes, with his Sutra?
The Sanzo priest sat up and looked around. For once, his eyes were fully open and sharp, with no one to observe him. A box fell into his lap from atop his bamboo breastplate, and he blinked down at it. How peculiar! Death had left him a present, it seemed. How polite of it.
He opened the box and sifted through it, perfectly content to sit in his pod for a while as he did so.
Eventually, he wandered out of the cave, and shielded his eyes against the sun with one hand as several birds took off from nearby trees at his appearance. A few crows, and... several small, colorful birds? Hm. They were certainly pretty, against the blue sky...

Ooooh. She's very cute!
[As one might do with a cat or similar creature, he lifted and extended a partially-covered hand for Sylvia to inspect if she wished.]
no subject
"Vie~"
[Anastasia doesn't try to stop her pokemon, as it is completely harmless. She brings her hands together in front of herself.]
"I apologize for her. That's how she likes to say 'hi' to people."
no subject
It's quite alright. Reminds me a little of Kouryuu as a baby.
[Babies grabbed for things. Including noses. And sometimes hair. Okay... often, hair.]
no subject
"Are you a father?"
no subject
[Koumyou perked up even more, as he always did when he had the excuse to talk about his son. He stood back up to his full height, a few inches under six feet tall.]
My little Kouryuu is fourteen, and already so big!
[He gestured somewhere around mid-bicep height on himself, beaming. What a proud dad.]
Sometimes it's hard to remember that he started off as such a tiny little baby. He hasn't gotten any less cute, though!
no subject
Meanwhile, Sylvia used her feelers to compare this Kouryuu's height with Anastasia. She was still short.]
"Pardon the change of subject, but are you new to Genessia?"
no subject
Why yes, I am. Does it show?
[He tucked his hands into his opposite sleeves, still smiling.]
no subject
[She dips into a well-practiced curtsy. Sylvia mimics her owner.]
"My name is Anastasia, it's nice to meet you."
no subject
I suppose I'm memorable enough to recall if you'd seen me before...
[Which he's used to, if nothing else because he's one of the few Sanzo priests in existence. His eyes widen a little at the curtsy, and because he's a dork he unfolds his hands from his sleeves to imitate the move with the 'skirt' of his robe. He's wearing jeans under it, so it's quite safe even though the robe opens at his hip.]
Ooooh, so polite! What's this called?
[He's holding the curtsy. Such a dork.]
no subject
"Umm... It's called a curtsy. This is how girls traditionally greet others."
no subject
[Koumyou holds his for another moment or two, unbothered. Finally, he straightens back up and gives a single spin before dropping his robes. They resume their usual drape around his legs.]
I'm... not used to doing greetings anymore! Mah-ah... I'll do my best!
[Then, he lifts one hand, the index finger, middle finger, up and flat, the last two fingers curled down, with his thumb straight against them. The outer edge of his hand faces Anastasia, and Koumyou gives her a small bow from his neck.]
I am Koumyou Sanzo. It's nice to meet you!
no subject
[She's practically an expert on being trapped in this world by now.]
no subject
[Koumyou tucked his hands back into his opposite sleeves.]
Not really? Is there anything you think I should know about?
[He was still a Sanzo priest, still charged with protecting the sutra draped so casually over his shoulders with his life. Anything else he felt he needed to know -- like what had become of Kouryuu -- she was unlikely to have the answer for.
As for this world... well, he wouldn't be a very good Buddhist high-priest if he couldn't roll with something like waking up on another world. After dying. Gruesomely.]
no subject
"Have you found the welcoming projection of Weiss Schnee? ... Granted someone didn't destroy it again?"
no subject
[He watched one of the colorful birds that had flown off earlier return, perching on a near-by tree and watching him in particular. Interesting.]
...I suspect there may be at least one person here who knows what I am, if not necessarily who. I'm curious if they'll show up.
no subject
[She definitely has no idea who he is, but she does know he's a father. Which is probably not what he's looking for.]
no subject
[Koumyou smiled.]
How long have you been here? What sort of people have you met?
no subject
"I've been here for over a year now. I arrived when I was 12 years old. I'm 13 now. I live with the former guardian of Nova City. I was best friends with another Princess like myself. I know a woman so great that she is a King. I know a priest who is starting a business. I met a guy with a monkey tail, and another man who can change into a giant beast. I once sassed a man in golden army who tried to conquer a city. I know a girl who can sprout tentacles and another girl with strong magic."
[She knows others, but she can't remember them off the top of her head, or is not close enough to be worth mentioning.]
no subject
no subject
[It was a weird, but rather fun experience.]
"...And I turned into an adult a year before that."
[That was not fun.]
"What will happen next, to you or I, we won't know."
no subject
[Koumyou chuckles at that.]
I've already died once, I suppose it can only go up from here.
no subject
"...And one more thing, if you die here, you'll come back to life. But you will lose a piece of yourself.
...Not speaking from experience, though. I just know enough people who have."
no subject
[Of course, he may change his tune on that once he finds out his son is here as well.]
