[Since he's been busy settling in, he hasn't really taken the time to contact people! Also, this is kind of a big deal for him- but, either way...he kind of had just one friend for two months (that felt like almost a year, for him, considering how awful everything dragged along). He didn't have a chance to make friends, other than Ryuuji, back in that hotel. Don't mind him while he makes up for that, okay.

First things, first.]

Hey, Takasu... Got a minute? [He gives just a bit of a grin.]

[Private to Gaara and Ishtar]

Hey, guys...how are you two settling in? Everything...alright? [Pause. This is a tad bit awkward, since he's kind of not...used to calling people out.] Hey, uh...Gaara. Wanna go somewhere with me, today?

[Private to Tear--

--...only, not really. Instead of switching private off of Gaara and Ishtar, then to a different person, he skipped that last step, completely. He got nervous okay?!

He'll totally play it off like he meant to do this, though. :|]

Um...Tear...? [WHY IS HE BLUSHING, UGH.

Glancing to the side to try and hide that, he reaches up to scratch at the side of his face.]

Mind meeting me somewhere, tomorrow?

[First Ryuuji, and now Luke. Gaara feels confused. He isn’t accustomed to being sought out so frequently.]

Hello, Luke. [Gaara returns his greeting, because it’s… the proper thing to do, he thinks.] I trust that Ishtar is adapting. Her ability to acquire friends is quite impressive.

[His head tilts a little, in curiosity.] For what purpose?

[He offers a friendly smile, eyes looking downward. Yeah, this definitely isn't something he's used to. Heck, he didn't even...write his friends letters the first time he returned home after Akzeriuth.

Granted, he'd had...other things on his mind.

Still, point remains, he's never even written a letter. The only reason the video message wasn't awkward with Ryuuji, might have something to do with just how strong his bond with him had grown after sharing the same fate at that awful place.

...Maybe death really does have the ability to bring people closer in strange ways.]

Well, I was just wondering if you'd like to explore the city with me. I also plan on getting something to eat, later, if you'd...like to come?

[Don't mind that awkward shift.]

[Gaara stares back at him impassively, waiting to hear his answer. Ah, this outing has a specific purpose. It isn’t the notion of spending leisure time together. Luke wants to acquire information about his new settings.]

Very well. [He doesn’t smile, but his stern expression eases a little. Granted, Gaara has already spent time exploring the city. It will be more efficient to fill in the remaining blanks.] Would you prefer to travel on foot, or via aerial means?

[Because unbeknownst to Luke, he can make arrangements for the latter.]

Aerial...? You mean, you have a flying machine?

[The only ones he knew of were the Albiore I, II, or III.

And, those were back on Auldrant. Luke liked flying, somewhat. He hadn't actually been able to enjoy it, in the past. The only time they'd ever flown in the Albiore was when they were on the way to something...serious. Something that was important enough to distract him from the joys surrounding the fact that he was soaring high above the air- doing something that most people could have only dreamed of.

So...maybe...it'd be nice to do it, without something of that nature in mind.]

Well, uh...I wouldn't mind seeing how you plan to do that. [There's a slightly awkward laugh, following his tone that had held the faintest disbelief.]

[That’s an answer he has come to expect, through various interactions with other warriors and civilians alike. Even most shinobi don’t have the capability of flight.]

No. [Always with that somber, straight face.] I possess the ability to provide aerial transportation.

[Gaara also understands that providing actual proof holds much more weight than words alone. He is willing to show Luke in person, exactly how he is capable. In this world, he has fewer reasons to hide his ninja abilities. Provided none of the Akatsuki members suddenly appear.] Where do you wish to convene?

[Well...

...Tear was about this expressive, facially, at one point. So...he's not unnerved, at least? Luke's brow tenses, somewhat, then he tilts his head in what appears to be thought.]

Guess you'll have to show me what you mean...

[Then he smiles.]

Do you know where the park is, by any chance? If not, we can just meet at the Bay. And, I need about three hours, if that's alright with you... [Sheepish smile.]

[He smirks a little, and then nods.]

Yes. I have surveyed the park before. [It reminds him of the biodome, back at the facility. Not nearly as restrictive, fortunately. He will most likely be frequenting this location, whenever he seeks peace of mind.]

Then, we shall meet in three hours. There is a pond in the middle of the establishment.

[Gaara plans to arrive early, as usual.]

[He nods.] Okay, see you then!

[With that, he gives a faint grin and wave, before ending the video connection.]

I have time. Where are you?

I'm near the apartment. I don't mind meeting you somewhere, if that's too far out of your way.

It's not an inconvenience. I'll be there in ten minutes.

[Ten minutes later.]

Alright!

[Ten minutes later...]

Oh, hey, Takasu!

[The redhead's sitting on the steps, when Ryuuji arrives. Standing, he lifts his hand in a brief wave. Smiling, he places a hand on his hip, then...suddenly looks a little awkward.]

I...kind of need your help with something, if you don't mind...

[Ryuuji was a little surprised to be asked for help. It was something that hasn't really happened since he was taken from home.]

What do you need help with?

[He doesn't mind of course.]

[With a sheepish smile, he looks to the side.]

You seem...comfortable, here. Like this place has stuff...you're familiar with? [Looking back to Ryuuji, he lets out a faint laugh.] This is nothing like my world. So, I guess what I'm trying to get at, is...I don't actually know how to look for a job.

So, uh...mind helping me do that?

You my help for that?

[Well he's never had a job in his own world. It was against school policy to have a job. Only under special circumstances would a school ever allow a student to have one. Not that he was ignorant to the idea, so it came to him naturally.]

It's not that difficult here, but it makes it easier if you know what you're good at so we can find a job to match your skill.

Y-yeah...

[He lets out a somewhat embarrassed laugh.]

Really...? Great! [He then thinks.] Well, I've got some experience in cooking. [And he's actually kind of good at it, so that's a plus, right?] Uhhhh...I'm not really sure what other kinds of things people get...hired in.

[Head scratch moment. Seriously.]

[Ryuuji forgot he could cook, but he insisted on doing it all of it, that was probably why.]

All sorts of things. Cleaning, teachings, construction work, repairs, even in the technology field.

But if you're comfortable with cooking, you might want to work for a restaurant.

Oh, wow, I had no idea there were that many options... [He tilts his head to the side in thought.] Guess it wouldn't hurt to check out the other options, too. Who knows, maybe I'll like something other than cooking?

[He grins.] But, I'll definitely check that one out, first! It's probably a good idea to stick with what you know, when it comes to making money, right?

[That's his assumption, anyway.]

You can always switch jobs if you don't feel like doing whatever it is you're doing. People don't generally change much at all, but it's not a permanent thing if you don't want ti to be.

[He smiles faintly.] Well, that's good to know, at least. Say, uh...Where do you plan on working?

I was going to work janitorial in a restaurant or something.

[He wasn't quite sure where just yet.]

Oh, I see... Well, I can help keep an eye out for places like that, while I'm looking for one for myself!

[Lightly grinning, he places a hand on his hip and stares up at the sky for a moment.]

You know...Takasu... [He pauses a moment, then looks back down at his friend.] I don't know if I've told you this, yet- but, I'm glad fate kept us together.

I do not mind. Where would you like to meet, Luke?

W-well, uh... how does the mall sound?

The mall is alright. I will head over there once I am done with small tasks.

Alright, see you then. [He smiles, then ends the feed.

SOMETIME LATER...

Luke can be found waiting at the main entrance of said mall.]

I will see you then.

[ Tear isn't far as she approaches him with her usual expression. It doesn't seem like she's expecting anything more than a serious conversation and catch up with the person that she held dear to hear heart. ]

[When he spots the brunette, green eyes light up somewhat. Suddenly, everything he wants to say...it all comes flooding into his mind. All those things he'd mentioned feeling about her, to Gaara. Heh, in a way, it'd been almost like practice, he supposed. Then, the other redhead had...basically spelled it out for Luke: he loves her. More than he loves himself. She's the one he wants to live his life for. She's the one that's always been there, even when he'd been at his lowest. She can make his heart both soar and ache, give him a feeling of complete and utter joy...as well as sadness.

Heh.

It threatens to spill out, right in that moment, but...

He knows he can't just come out with it, like that. The redhead swallows hard as he closes the space between them, a somewhat awkward smile appearing on his face. He also knows that it's more than just a matter of needing to tell her his feelings. Even if he's been holding them inside for what feels like forever, there's other things to talk about. Things he doesn't look forward to telling her about.

He's got to stay true to his word, however, about not keeping secrets from her. Even the things that hurt, are things that could be considered a secret, if not told.] Hey, Tear. [He allows his smile to brighten.] So, anywhere you'd like to walk to...?

[ Tear's expression was a bit unchanging, but it was a soft, gentle look that she sported on her face as she greeted him when he saw her. She knew her feelings as well, but saying it outright wasn't the best way to approach the situation right now. Instead, she would be as she always was about these situations, indifferent.

She'll tell him one day, but for now, she was more concerned about his body, and his well being. Was he separating? Were his fonons still dissipating? Was he in pain?! What happened those years and why did he look the same as ever? It was all too many thoughts in her head. ]

Hello, Luke.

[ She gave him a gentle smile. ]

Wherever is fine with me.

Okay, come with me, then...

[With that, he's giving her a smile and leading her over to a an outside bench away from everyone else. He doesn't want people overhearing anything they have to talk about, after all.

He sits down and casually gestures to the spot next to him. He doesn't even pause, however, before he starts speaking.]

So, uh...Guess...you wanna know about everything that happened in that hotel? [He does wait for her to sit next to him, before he continues.]

Right after I vanished from Auldrant, after freeing Lorelei, I appeared in that...place. Even though I was only there a month [Since Auldrant months are twice as long as regular months, and whatnot- also, that probably answers Tear's question regarding time.], it felt like much longer... [He looks away from her.] Heh, I thought about you every day, wondering how you were- and, if you'd appear in that place, as well. Even...though I missed you, Tear, I'm really glad you never showed up. I can't imagine you being in a place like that...

[His expression softens as he looks down at the ground.] Like I've said, that's where I met Takasu. We became friends pretty quickly and, because he couldn't fight, I promised myself to protect him if anything happened. Well...after fourteen days...there came a time to do just that. Suddenly, the people in that hotel...most of them all just- well, they went crazy. They all started trying to kill anyone that was still sane. I didn't have a weapon, so...I couldn't even do much of anything to help anyone, not even...

[His voice is caught for a moment.]

Well, needless to say, Takasu and I were eventually killed by some of the chefs in one of the restaurants. We were...surrounded, and...there was nothing I could...do...

[He can feel his chest tightening as he has to fight against the stinging of his eyes. His voice turns just a little...bitter?] Heh...I keep trying to tell myself it's not my fault, but...I'd had a bad feeling about that restaurant, Tear...but I didn't stop us from going in there. I should have listened...to that feeling...maybe, then, he'd had a better chance of survival...

['He'd'. Because, Luke can't help but feel like saving Ryuuji was just a little more important. Unbeknown to Luke, he can't help but compare his friend to Ion. He's charging himself with protecting him, so fiercely...because, maybe he still feels some guilt over not saving Ion?

Luke hasn't really been faced with figuring that out. He hasn't had the chance to really consider thinking anything over, beyond how much he doesn't want to go back to that place- or his feelings for Tear, since that had been the last thing he'd thought about, before vanishing to reappear in that hotel...

...There are a lot of issues Luke needs to work out. Maybe Genessia can be the place for that...but, for now...Crap, he realizes how a lot of that had sounded...

Would Tear be upset with him? Think he's being dumb like he'd been in the past?]

S-sorry, I just...I know it's stupid to sit and blame myself. Like I said, I'm trying not to.

Alright.

[ The Seventh Fonist replied as she followed after him as he led her to the bench. It would be best if they were in a more private location. She did agree that whatever they had to talk about, it would be in secrecy because she was certain there were a lot of things that he would like to tell her about the things that happened while she wasn't with him. She didn't even know what had happened in Auldrant after her freed Lorelei. She hadn't seen him for three years and all those emotions were rushing forth.

She comfortably situated herself in the spot next to him as she listens to what he has to say. The Fonist listen to his words as he started to talk. He told her what happened after he freed Lorelei and where he was. Tear didn't know what to make of it, but she knew he wouldn't lie to her. Luke was always honest with her ever since she started watching him and never had she stopped. She had watched him here as well. The way he behaved sometimes since she had seem him, concerned her and she wanted to ask but she knew that he would patiently tell her when the time was right. That was what Tear did. She waited, and now she was listening to it all. ]

I-I see. That is a long time...

[ She mused in concern. She heard killed and was immediately alarmed by the way he said those words. She shook her head. It seemed like the place was unpredictable. Luke couldn't have been blamed for such things that were not within his control or anyone's control for the matter. ]

I am certain that Takasu forgives you. You are not at fault. It was unpredictable.

[ She replied sternly. Yes, she would tell him that it wasn't his fault because these things were never anyone's fault. You can't control what you don't know. ]

You've changed Luke, since the last time I've seen you.

[ She smiled gently at him. ]

Whatever has happened, it happened. We cannot dwell on what has already passed, but we can work hard for the future. Isn't that always what we're fighting for?

I'm fine, thank you Luke. You don't have to worry about me too much. Are you doing okay yourself?

I'm glad. [He smiles.] And, yeah. I'm still getting settled. I plan on going job-searching, today. Just gotta figure out how things work in this city, since it seems more...advanced, than I'm used to.

[A faint laugh.]

Same here. My time wasn't this advance so I might do that as well. Maybe we can do some job searching together?

[He blinks, then smiles brightly.]

Hey, sure, that sounds like a great idea! I have my friend, Takasu, showing me a thing, or two, about it. But, afterward, maybe I could show you around and tell you about all the things he taught me? Heh, I think he comes from a world very similar to this one, or something. He seems pretty comfortable, here, already...

[He sheepishly smiles at her, scratching at the back of his head.]

Yeah. I had a lot of my friends do that too before you know-- this happened. Oh, that would be appreciated. I would love to take a look around a bit more but probably not the best to get lost.

[ Oh Luke you cutie pie. ]

Heh, yeah, I'd hate to get lost in this place. It's bad enough being in a new place, but to get lost, too...

[He laughs and nods.]

But, yeah, I'll be sure to contact you as soon as I've got some free time!

That's a good point you have as well.

[ She giggles sheepishly as he says that. ]

Thanks. I'll definitely wait for your message.

[A wry smile's given.]

Alright! I'll try not to keep you waiting, too long!

[ She grins. ]
