Closed Bounty Log, Catching a Cat Burglar
Conan wasn't usually interested in every day theft. Most of the time it was barely a challenge at all, and he preferred to put his deductive skill towards more difficult cases.
But every now and then, something caught his interest. And his so-called cat burglar qualified. A burglar who left a calling card. He was rather interested to see if there would be any challenge in it.
It is only the matter of a few minutes to research the criminal's past activities and to calculate the site of his next burglary.
And with that, Conan is out the door on the way to the criminal's next target. An office building in downtown Genessia City which happened to house the offices of a jewelry company.
Being Conan, he doesn't bother to tell anyone what he is doing.

Call it a scientific experiment.

And an angry Ran Mouri was not something KID really really wanted to deal with in the event she ever found out or showed up in this place.

"Mm, well I suppose possession might come in handy should Conan need to move, and yet have no capacity. A desperate measure for a desperate time. Well, that settles it! Let's see Conan to his errands. You'll be lucky if it's groceries; I don't see how you could carry very many by your lonesome.
Oh, he has an official guardian? What's their name?"

I do not need someone following after me like this, and I certainly don't need any possessions happening.

KID laughs once, shaking his head. "I'm sure he could manage it, he's rather resourceful, that way."
no subject
"Better safe than sorry! Indeed, we all almost became very, very sorry when we skimped on safety, eh?"
no subject
Conan refused to go any further until this was taken care of.
no subject
"Maybe you should save it until an absolute last resort. I mean, he'll have us with him, so it's not like he can get into too much trouble without us knowing first."
Okay, KID knows that is a lie, but he also knows Conan. And honestly, while he might tease the detective, he also knows who he really is and as such, tries not to treat him as the kid he looks like he is.

"If you insist. All right, come on out of there Gengar." Conan's shadow crossed his arms in refusal.
"...please." It threw its hands up in the air, before the purple blob floated up and away, pulling down his eye and sticking his tongue out at the no-fun-allowed Conan.
"Ah well, I'm hoping desperate times never come. So! Where are we headed? Post office, landfill, K&H Children Home? Crime scene?"
no subject
"None of the above. And I don't recall inviting you along."
no subject
Unfortunately, KID didn't always have his plans go exactly the way he wanted them too.
no subject
"Oh, that's probably because you haven't. Not to worry; I'll accept the invitation any time. As a formality, mind. I didn't get one of those last time, and it did much good to proceed anyway."

Playing up the part of a confused young chaperon, KID turns his attention towards the other. "The last time?"
no subject
"Oh, yes," he began, with a look between an interested gossip and a concerned guardian. "First time I met him was during--" his phone buzzed. "Ah, excuse me." He answered with periodic sounds of interest. "Mhm. Oh. Well, that's fortunate. All right; yes. I'm on my way." He hung up and pocketed the phone.
"Alas, duty calls away from your adventure, whatever it is. Ah well, this polite young woman seems capable enough. Still, let me know if you get into more trouble than you can chew. And let me know how it goes regardless. Good morning! Or afternoon..." Ted walked off in a state of some agnosticism about the time.
