20: Winter is here! (Open Action, Forward-dated to December 1st and beyond)

A. Garden Park, Genessia City

[ Oh Nehra, she can't believe it!

It's so white out in the morning, and Adela can't help feeling excited because wow it looks beautiful! Freshly fallen snow on the ground, truly unlike anything she'd ever seen before! It doesn't take too long for her to (at least attempt to) dress up warmly and take Ash out to the park, whether she's escorted or not. Her leg's winter upgrade is done, so what's the harm?

A bit later in the day she's still in the park, all grins with her dog as she flops in the snow alongside him. His barking prompts her to laugh, and she boops his nose even as she's flushed and shivering from the cold. Whether she's there with her friends or only her dog at the moment, it's clear that she's having a grand time out in the weather for the time being. ]

B. Bright Sky Diner, Genessia City

[ There's nothing quite like hot food after playing in the snow.

Adela had to return home to make sure Ash was safe and warm there first, but now that she's at the diner she can't help feeling good. True, she's still flushed from how cold it is outside, even after being inside for quite some time, but her cheery demeanor probably outshines that by miles.

Of course, good food's best compliment is good company, but does she have someone with her initially or will someone walk up? Either way, she can't help feeling probably the best she has in a very long time. ]

[Do you know what goes well with playing in the snow? Playing in the snow with other people! Luffy's out and about and probably the first indication of him being around is a snowball lobbed at Adela.

Luffy's dressed strangely for being in the snow. He's at least got a warm jacket on over his shirt, but he's...still wearing shorts? And sandals? Hopefully being mobile will do to keep him warm since he's very much not dressed for cold weather.]

Hey, Adela! Let's have a snowball fight!

[ And it's good!

She yelps briefly as that snowball nails her right in the back of the neck, that's so cold! She whirls around then, seeing who threw it and grinning when she realizes who it is. ]

You will pay for that, Luffy!

[ Playfully of course, as Adela starts making a snowball to throw at him as well. She's not about to lose like this! ]

[Luffy's laughing as he watches Adela get smacked, his grin widening as he sees the girl is willing to join in the fun.

The first snowball thrown hits him square in the face, knocking him off his feet and into the snow.

Getting, up, he's making more snowballs as he grins back.]

Of course you know, this means war! Mutinying against your captain!

[Have at thee!]

[ Long pause... ]

My... What?

[ Perfect opportunity for snowball to the face there, considering how distracted by his wording she is. ]

[The snowballs fly fast and as quick as Luffy can make them, some not so much snowballs as piles of snow that just splat on the ground as he throws them too eagerly.]

You heard me! You're part of my crew. I said it back during the Halloween party didn't I? Why else would I say you should be a pirate during it?

[After a while, a certain succubus happens to pass by, stopping as she glances towards Adela... And her dog. She tenses a little for a few seconds... But the last incident with dogs was literally over a decade ago. She'd be fine. Or she could at least run away, probably.

Unfortunately, her attempt to approach was slightly screwed up by the snow.. Or rather, a bit of ice underneath it. Because, of course, Pidonus was still wearing high-heeled boots even in the snowy season. Any cry of pain is rather thoroughly muffled by the fact that she landed face-first in several inches of snow, a distinctive 'thoomp' sound announcing her presence to Adela.]

[ Well the noise is soft, but it is enough to get Adela's attention. She sits up from where she is, blinking at seeing the other stuck in the snow before making her way to her feet. Ash is long enough to help support Adela doing so, and it doesn't take her long to walk over and offer a hand for Pidonus to take. ]

Are you all right?

[have_hat_will_travel]

[Pidonus' arm waves kinda wildly in the air - she's still face down and can't see - before catching Adela's hand and pulling herself up a little - to her knees, at least.]

Ice. Seriously. Ice.

I suppose it can be difficult to walk on, can it not?

[ Adela flashes Pidonus a bright smile as she helps pull the other to her feet, clearly not bothered (at the least) by the fact that she's freezing, the snow, the ice, or anything at all. ]

[In the diner, there's that tall priest that she haven't seen since summer, though she had seen him recently over a week ago when he commissioned her with a purchase of a custom order. He sits alone in one of the tables by the window with groceries bags. However, he doesn't look so well, and if anything, he's coughing in his sleeve and sniffing in his tissues. The priest is sickly, but he stopped by for only a cup of hot cocoa and that's it. There's no food on his table.

Honestly, he should be home and rest in bed, but his apartment isn't too far, just around the corner really. When he saw the red head, he smiled at her, and rasped a "Hello". It seems his throat is affected.]

[ The fact that she can barely hear him over the din in the restaurant is troubling enough, but when what she can hear sounds, quite frankly, awful?

Adela gets to her feet then, walking over with concern clearly pulling her expression into a frown. ]

Are you all right, sir? I could not help but notice, your voice...

Oh, don't worry about me. [The priest said with a raspy voice.] I just stopped by for a cup of hot chocolate. I live close by, so it won't be a problem for me to make it home.

I will worry, you look and sound ill... Abel, right?

[ It seems like she's finally remembered his name, and without asking she's going to seat herself next to him. She'll go back to her own table soon enough, really, but she's a little more worried about him first and foremost. ]

Should you not be resting while you are like this?

*Sonico was on a shift at the diner today. It was pretty busy, lots of people coming in for hot food and drinks. There's a new customer in out of the snow, and Sonico goes over to her table with a menu and a big smile*

Good afternoon! Welcome to the Bright Sky Diner! How are you today?

Ah, hello.

[ She's sure she's seen this woman on the network before. Adela flashes a bright (if flushed) smile to her, thinking about it for a moment. ]

Perhaps some coffee for now? I am still deciding on what to eat, if that is all right.

Any particular coffee or is regular okay?

*Sonico smiles and nods, gesturing towards the menus*

Of course! Take all the time you want and warm yourself up. My name's Sonico, and I'll be happy to help with anything you need!

Well met, Sonico. I am Adela.

[ She nods, but right the coffee... ]

I would like to try the Hazelnut, if that is all right? I am unfamiliar with several different kinds of food on here, so it may be something I need some more time to ponder.

[Marco doesn't even ask, just joins her food, and steals some of her soup.]

[What are nakama for?]

[ Jeez Marco you could have asked.

Adela doesn't seem bothered, instead smiling in her amusement and nodding to him. ]

'tis good to see you, Marco. Are you doing all right in this cold?

[Nope! That would have ruined the point.]

[Marco chirps in response, before remembering he can speak human even as a bird without changing back here, and nods.]

Aye. You?

I am all right, though... It is strange to say, when outside I cannot seem to keep warm for the life of me in this cold.

[ She chuckles, shaking her head before turning to him again. ]

I am used to far warmer than this, though I cannot say I mind it terribly.

[ Direct hit! Adela squeaks when it hits the back of her head, taking a moment to shake it off before turning to see who--

Oh, it was on.

Adela grinned then, quickly making a snowball and watching for any more that Smoker might throw. She's not about to let him get away with this! ]

Nope XD Still 22 days that's crazy

[The downside to being so big is that he makes such a large and easy target. So Smoker doesn't bother trying to duck and cover, just scoops another ball and aims for her shoulder.]

[ It's a miss this time! Adela is smaller and agile, thus a harder target to hit... Or, well, she would be if she could manage to move well in the snow, that makes it a little harder.

She'll aim for dead center of his chest with her latest snowball, immediately making another one regardless of if it hits or not. ]
