The man who dived into Hell and crawled back (Video 1)

A old time man woke up to find a strange voice speaking to him...

"Dear maiden, where are you coming from? Does that ghost make you disappear too?

The snow started to fall on the man's head as it slightly melted due to the man's warmth.

"BEATRICE!"

He screamed out into the night.

He slammed the ground in anger, frustrated as to why he couldn't get her back...

"ANSWER ME!"

Nothing again...

The man was forced to continue on foot with his Scythe on his back, making him even colder.

"Hello!"

"Hello!" [That's the simplest greeting he's heard in Genessia yet. He can work with that.] "What's your name?"

The man held out his long scythe and held it close. [The man was cold.]

"My name is Dante Alighieri, good sir."

Have you seen a beast named Lucifer around? He has my Beatrice.

[Stunned silence for a moment.]

"The Dante? The poet? Oh I loved you in Inferno! Alas, I've seen neither. Lucifer, after all, is a spiritual devil, so he's hard to see wherever he is. And Beatrice...is she not in Heaven, among the blessed?"

[OOC: Is it cool if Ted sort of 4th walls since he's the kind of guy who's actually read that trilogy?]

[The man is quiet and stares down the man named Ted]

"The Dante, yes.

Thank you.. It was a scary experience going through hell itself only to find yourself back here of all places..

"Good sir, I only want to find Beatrice, my lover. This place is no...trick?"

[ He smiled as he looked at his lighting up cross she had given him. ]

[Of course! That would be a lot of fun!]

"I'd imagine so! Well, this place is much more pleasant than hell, most days. I'm afraid I've seen neither head nor hair of Beatrice; most of us have to do without our loved ones, though there's plenty to love in the meantime. As for trickery...it's hard to say. There are illusions about, notably in the subarchways--which I implore you not to make. But the world itself? None have doubted its reality that I've heard."

Dante was at least relieved to hear that this place was no trick and nobody was deceiving him (so far). [Dante looked down and frowned.

"Maybe someday i'll see her again.."

There are illusions? I won't... dare step there."

((OOC: Hope you'll enjoy this version of Dante a bit, seems like this thread will be fun))

[OOC: Ted will adore any fellow believer. Even if he's really, really intense.]

"I don't doubt it; in fact, didn't she send you an angel to guide Vergil through hell itself? Well, if you haven't made it that far, I won't spoil it. But yes, good man, the subarchways are only to be ventured out of great necessity. A 'necessary evil' if ever there was one. Oh, that's a...curious scythe you have. I don't quite remember that.

Oh! So by now you've probably heard the whole introduction from the hologram, there. Is there anything you need help with?"

((OOC: Ah I see. Actually, this Dante is from the DI game, but either way I can make it work, that's why he's without clothing and has a scythe on his back.))

Dante nodded "Yes, in fact she did. It made a lot more sense to have him guide me through the circles of Hell."

Dante nodded "It's... a weapon I stole from the grim reaper himself... while in Hell. "

"It's a long story."

"Good sir.. I need a place to stay, some warm clothing if you have any and even something such as a job."

"Hah, I'll say! Any one of those books could beat someone to death. All three...wait, what? I don't recall him in there. Huh..."

[Ted just assumed it was a beige shirt. The discrepancies between he and the poet were becoming a little stranger.]

"Ah, well you should've arrived with a key which will let you into the Commonspace. It's not very nice, but then you look like you've been through far worse. That'll do for a start till you can afford something comfier. As for clothes-I'll be right over!"

[Lo and behold, Ted appeared in ten minutes, brightly dressed in an ugly Christmas sweater. He'd hand one or two to the man himself, seeing as Genessia practically belched these things from the ether.]

"Apologies for the wait; must've been freezing in here. Well...you're clearly an excellent writer, though I don't know if any quite have the patience for such long tales anymore. And if your story is true...although, come to think of it, the world has more than its fair share of combatants. What other skills have you picked up?"

[Dante A finds himself in new modern clothing with his scythe now on his back.

"Thank you... Ted."

"Actually i picked up how to do... magic... I can defeat demons with the light of my magic cross... and the Scythe i have here is a special one."

"Huh...magic, eh? I don't recall that in your travels. Are you sure that's quite all right? Recall what happened to Simon, now."
