Who: Blake Belladonna, Weiss Schnee
What: Blake becoming Weiss's reluctant shopping partner.
When/Where Nova City Mall
Warnings: n/a
Blake was waiting by the entrance of the mall wondering for the hundredth time why she had agreed to this. She didn't dislike picking out clothing, she just wasn't the biggest fan of parties. But she also understood why these things were necessary. It did help people keep their minds on the normal, the good and if it did that for Weiss, she'd bear with it.
Truth be told, she also needed to get her mind off hyper-political tension in Genessia right now and whether or not she trusted these newcomers. She adjusted her bow and studied her reflection in the glass while she waited. She wondered and had been wondering for a while if she even still needed it here. A girl with cat ears was hardly strange in Genessia. Not with some of the kinds of people that inhabited Everglade and then humans were probably more at risk there than her.
Now where was Weiss?

Now where was Weiss?

In this case, these needs doubled up for the two birds, one stone effect. Even if she was aware that Blake probably wouldn't think the other part was a big deal, Weiss's past experiences in Genessia made her want to make sure. So when the opportunity came up, this is what she was doing. Besides, the shopping actually needed to get done.
"Blake!" Weiss jogged to catch the up to her friend, her heels clacking on the pavement as she did.

It wasn't like Adam had ever wanted to join her for that. And with a person who fought in a dress. Even though she could hear Ruby's voice screaming 'combat skirt!' in her head."So. Lets begin...this." She really had given an effort to sound somewhat enthused.

"There was something.. somewhat in relation to this that I wanted to speak to you about."

"It's fine," Blake waved it off as she followed Weiss towards a store. "Oh?"
She raised her eyebrows at the girls last statement. What could anyone have to ask Blake about a party? That was more Yang's area of expertise.

She knew she didn't need Blake's permission and Sun would probably think she was being strange for thinking it was necessary to ask. More than that, she knew Blake would probably be confused about why she was asking. It wasn't like this version of Blake knew about her previous relationship with Sun... and Weiss didn't quite understand how it worked, but... honestly, even if she was never together-together with Neptune, she'd think it was awkward if Neptune were here and trying to date any one of her teammates.
"Sun and I are going together. I know you two aren't dating and the closest thing was when you went to the dance back home, but I still want to make sure that's okay with you."

She was ashamed to admit that her first reaction was to blink for a moment and remember that Sun was still in Genessia. But what with the people just coming and going in this world, the fact that Blake had refused to contact anybody when she had first arrived and that she still felt nervous about running into the people she technically abandoned, (even if for their own good) and that she had not seen hide nor hair of Sun since arriving here took her more by surprise than Weiss announcing that they were a couple. She couldn't say whether in the past it might have bothered her because there had not been much time for something to develop outside of her knowing that Sun liked her. Too much had happened and changed.
"No, I'm just surprised," she said. "I didn't know you were that close. But of course, I'm okay with it."
She was mainly relieved. One of the main things she worried about if she ever saw him again was explaining the situation with Yang. And Blake was still coming to terms with the fact that she had feelings like that for her partner. Now she didn't have to really explain anything. Plus, it wasn't like he had ever contacted her. She had blamed herself for that, with the way she had just left. But Sun was a good guy. And definitely not a sociopath.
"More than okay with it," she smiled, reassuringly. "I didn't know Yang and I were that obvious, though."
Well she wasn't going to deny it.

"You weren't obvious, but we do live together. It's not that hard to figure out. Sun and I..."
She feels like that's a little harder to explain.
"We aren't close back home. Here, he's been the one constant thing for me. The one person I could always count on, the one person who's always there for me when I need him. Not that you all haven't tried, but.. it's different when everyone you care about ends up losing their memories every few months. I know it doesn't necessarily seem like it, but here.. honestly? He's my best friend and I don't think I could get through a lot of what I have without him. I don't know what that means beyond that but.. he did say if I threw a party, he'd go as my plus one and I joked about it being a ploy to go on a date but.. here we are. So I wanted to make sure. Thanks, Blake."
Hey look, it's the store. It probably looks.. darker than what Weiss is used to buying. Certainly more Blakey in color.

"This is...suspiciously colorful for you," she commented.
If colorful meant warmer, darker colors.
"Trying new things?" Blake had her own change, healing behind a ribbon she had tied to her arm. She still couldn't believe she's actually gotten the nerve. But she had sworn she'd ink over that ugly scar, no matter how much it hurt.

She knew Blake too well, and it was obvious. By now, Weiss had maneuvered herself so that she was between Blake and the door, making it impossible to turn back out.

The cat faunus looked slightly concerned as she made her point. Though she was due a new outfit, she had not had formal attire in her plans.

"First of all, you're going to a new event. Second of all, that was semi-formal at best. Third of all, please go."
The third point was the most important.

She cocked her head giving her friend a curious look. What was really going on here?
"I think the third one sounded very much like the first one except you said 'please'," she remarked. "Why are you so invested in this?"

She says it like it's obviously something Blake should be familiar with, though within a few seconds she's trying to usher Blake further into the store to look at some racks.
"I just.. want to get things back to normal, as much as they can be. That involves my friends being there."
