Discuss an exit strategy

[The feed starts with Arro standing before a projection screen with a small device held in his hand. He smiles widely and takes a bow.]

Good evening, fellow citizens. Arro Caine, at your service once again. Today let me speak to you of business rather than trivalities; though I welcome those as well.

I have put in for a small venture, and alas the powers that be tell me I don't have the monetary requirements met. I have put in an appeal, and I have been told that could take over a month to complete.

Yet I will not let that deter me~ Let me instead of handle this through another means and ask you, the other citizenry directly. As you know, the Genessia Scientific Research Institute of Genessia City has been endeavoring to find us a means back home. I recently joined this effort.

[There is now a slide behind him showing Genessia in bold red, with perhaps a hundred branching points from it, some hitting other red dots on the slide and branching further.]

I'd like to propose an experiment; a possible means of tearing open a dimensional rift. I won't allow another soul to use it, but perhaps if I could take a small bit of help from you so I can study this method; a few witnesses to help monitor, some equipment to record and document as I have no exact measure of how much energy this method takes. I would also need a few clever minds for help on if there is any way to set a destination in detail once we have the means of actually generating such rifts on an even possibly semi-frequent basis.

[There is now a slide of a detailed illustration of a park with a jagged hole in it revealing a city through it, the proposed dimensional rift.]

This is of course on top of the work the Institute is conducting on simply finding the point of origin for all the residents here--those that wish to leave, at least.

Will it result in anything? Well, that depends on you, the government, and the will to succeed.

I will also field questions, concerns, and of course your many criticisms on the matter~ Let me also point out that this is simply a preliminary experiment, so do not get your hopes up, as the Insitute may deem such research too dangerous and ban it. So far I have yet to meet with serious opposition to the concept.

When I say I'm well-traveled for one~ I am exceptionally well-traveled and can say I've been to every continent.

Wh-What kind of place was your f... favorite?

Well, I do of course enjoy the beaches of Atael, but I have found myself enjoying much colder regions; the formations ice can take is very pleasing, and there are even some plants that thrive best in colder climates. Plus it never gets old seeing an evergreen dusted with snow on it's branches.

E-Every Christmas we used to all get t-together in a big mansion in a snowy field. W-We'd play in the snow and have hot cocoa and then s-sit around a big tree and open presents.

I-If you ever visit my world, I'll show you!

Ah, you celebrate Christmas as well. It does sound like a lovely time~ So perhaps one day I'll be able to visit it, Ser Bracken.

W-We could put presents under the t-tree for you, too!

[Just thinking of having the Christmas party again with everyone got him excited.]

A-And my friend, Th-Thistle, he really likes to flirt. And, my o-other friend, he's an... he's an incubus, he likes f-flirting lots, too. Y-You guys could do it all night!

[As if it was some sort of hobby...]

Dear me, Ser Bracken. How will I ever repay you?

[Though there is a look of amused curiosity as Bracken speaks of his friends.]

I guess Incubi really are like that... Well~ Perhaps not all night, as even I get tired on occasion, but I would do my best to keep up with them.

I-I only know one inc... incubus, so I don't know i-if they're all like that... But he is.

[He shrugged. Didn't really matter to him, so long as no one was getting hurt. They seemed to have fun, and really, who didn't like being flirted with?]

B-But it would be lots of fun. So... So when you figure out th-the teleporting, make sure to come over!

You have my word, Ser Bracken that I most definitely will~

[He smiled extra broadly. Another thing to look forward to in the future. He'd just have to remember to keep checking how their research was coming along. But surely he'd talk to Arro again!]

Th-Thanks! C-Can you tell me when you... when you make umm... make...

[He fumbled about trying to find the word, murmuring as he thought. But, it seemed like the harder he tried to think of it, the more he got stuck.]

M-Make... Make...

[There's a gentle smile.]

[He paused, but smiled.]
