The newsletter had delivered disturbing news to Ruby. A call for help, someone in need... A lost kitty cat! This was something that she just couldn't let stand. It didn't take her long to assemble a crack team to take the case.

...She bugged her roommates Weiss and Yang until they agreed to come with her. Once Ruby had gathered up a few pictures of the cat from it's owner, the team took to the streets to try and track Mr.Mitten down.

"Mr.Mittens! Mr.Mittens! Where arrrrrrrre yooooooooou!?"

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty!"

Ruby Rose, expert cat tracker,

[Yang pops open the lid of a garbage can.]

No kitties here.

[Then she tries the dumpster, and goes reeling back from the smell.]

Definitely no kitties here!

You can probably tell if the cat is in there just by kicking the side of it.

[ Or, well, if anything starts scrambling around in a trash can anyway.

Weiss is not touching the garbage, Yang, can you tell? ]

I don't want to scare it off, or else we'll have to chase it.

[And they both know how hard it is to chase a frightened Blake. I MEAN CAT!]

What if we got some fish and left it out, then hid around the corner and watched? I'm sure we'd find a lot of cats that way, right?

I'm sure we'd find a lot of wild animals that way.

[ But.. it's better than looking around aimlessly. ]

Let's go see if there's anything on sale at the store.

[Ruby on the other hand, had been a little too preoccupied with her own search and had missed a majority of the conversation between the two. She glanced back to see the both of them heading off in the direction of the store.]

Woah! Wait up! Don't leave me behind!

[Yang doesn't know how to fish, and she's definitely sure Weiss never learned something like that. Yang turns at the sound of Ruby's voice, and just smiles, happy to see her little sister joining the gang.]

Wouldn't dream of it! So...what kind of fish do cats like?

[ Weiss affords a glance back to Ruby but doesn't really slow down. This looking wasn't getting them anywhere as it was, and Yang had a decent idea, so Weiss wanted to go ahead with it to get this over with. Weiss knew the way to the store easily enough, so she had already stepped ahead to lead the way. She definitely doesn't know how to fish, but she knows how to shop. ]

Canned tuna should work.

[ Blake likes tuna, right? ]

[Ruby will breath a sigh of relief.] [She'll glance between the two of them as they head off the store.]

Yeah, Tuna will do it. We could picked up some little toy mice or something too, to keep her busy will we take her back home. Great idea, right? I thought so too.

[Yang chuckles.]

Just be careful not to get too attached! We've already got a growing pup at home, and four people to boot. Any more, and we'll have to upgrade to a house or something.

We should upgrade to a house anyway.

[ Weiss wants wide open spaces, she is down for this. ]

If we get her a toy, let's get her a toy with catnip.

If we do we should probably try and avoid getting anything with really big windows.

Er...yeah...or just get something that works like windows, but made of something more durable.

[She has a pained look on her face. So many broken windows, and not enough Kaminas to fix them all.]

It could be affordable if we all pitched in! I've got my job at the auto shop. How about you guys?

If we're going all out, let's just get full-story bullet proof windows.

[ Paper can't break bullet proof windows. And neither can any of them accidentally getting over excited with weapons. ]

And I've been... working. [ She doesn't really want to tell them where though because seriously, she doesn't need them coming and visiting her at work while she's got a low-paying job. That's embarrassing. ] I've been thinking of opening my own business eventually.

Yeah, it was a job in the paper, figured I could help out a little.

What's she look like? Well Mr.Mittens is apparently a brown cat with white along her legs. And yeah it's name is Mr.Mittens, but it's a girl. Weird, huh?

Kind of average sized for a cat and loves to hide. ...So well that the owner can't find her anywhere.

[To say Ruby was a bit surprised when Battler started shouting would be a bit of an understatement. She literally jumped when she found out just how loud this guy could be.

[Meanwhile, Gamagori will be out taking a walk as a break from pouring over the books at the library at Satsuki's request. He's kind of lost in thought, and as such doesn't hear Ruby until he rounds a corner and practically steps on her.]

...It seems odd how often we bump into each other with a city this large.
