enchantressofore: (Perhaps I am feeling some grief now...)

24: Confusion (Anon Text Only for now)

I had imagined not taking vengeance for its own sake in order to help someone else would be a good thing. It should not feel horrible or like I did something wrong, and yet it still does.

I wish to ask what you would have done; if confronted with someone who brought you great harm in the past, one who you know had the capability of doing so again, would you be able to walk away? Would you be satisfied with it? Is it even right to let them be?

You can't know what'll happen until it does, and to presume otherwise is pure arrogance. I've let my enemies go before and I'll do it again every time I feel necessary. Even the most treasonous of pirates can do good for others, and refraining from taking a life is never wrong. You can always kill someone later, but you can't take back killing them if you take that final measure. It should only be a last resort when you have no hope left, nothing more.
