[Regis' gasp is barely heard thanks to the thunderous tornado that rolls towards him. The king actually pauses his lightning spell long enough to take command over the fire torrent he unleashed earlier. He forces the flames to clash with the incoming wind-strikes but it comes a little too late and he's forced to flee. Regis grabs the hilt of his sword again and suddenly vanishes from view thanks to another warp.

The king reemerges just a few yards away charging up his next spell quickly. It usually doesn't take too long for Regis to weave his magic but he's hoping to end this duel with a massive lightning spell conducted by the water at their feet. This is a risky move, even for him but Regis is determined. Just when he charged enough mana, Regis' spell suddenly falters in mid-cast when a flash of reddish-hue light briefly engulfed him. A pained cry follows suit and the king suddenly drops his sword. The glaive clatters noisily against the water and rocks as Regis clutches his head in agony. Too much magic. Simply too much. He didn't pace himself properly and now he's in quite the pickle.

Magic Stasis only occurs when the caster is expelling more mana than he's drawing and that enormous inferno of flame followed by his next big spell certainly did him in. Regis grits his teeth as he extends his hand towards his sword, calling the glaive back to him despite clutching his aching head with his left hand. An eerie blue light lingers around Regis as he tries to regenerate his magic on a fly.

He's open for attack.
