The White Catacombs
Who: Open to all
What: Adventure!
Where: The White Catacombs
When: January 29th - February 5th
Warnings: None at the moment

The White Catacombs had seen better days. In the distant past, the place was beautiful. It was filled with people coming and going, trading and discussing magical artifacts. It could have easily become one of the primer locations for mages like the Ivory Tower is.
Jump to now, and the place is still a sight to behold. It is still beautiful in a way. Just looking at it, you can imagine what it must have looked like in it's prime. But you can't just stand around and sight see. There are monsters lurking throughout the multiple levels of the place.
On The First Floor you will find Skeleton Hordes, Ghouls, Flame Snakes, Dire Bats and Effgies.
On The Second Floor Dire Wolves, Twig Blights, Firebats, Soul Eaters, Akata, Astradaemon, and Giant Snakes.
On the third floor you will find Dust Wights, Gargoyles, Stone Spikes, Carnivorous Plants and Gargoyles.
On the fourth floor, you find nothing. That is to say, there aren't any monsters here. When you reach the bottom of the stares, you come into a corridor. At the end of the corridor is a door. Push, pull, hit, use any manner of magic or abilities on the door to your hearts content, but it does not open. Any attempt to use a travel type ability to get beyond it causes you to be bounced out of the White Catacombs entirely.
Around the door are sigils, writing that glows faintly. If one stares at them, when they finally take their eyes from them, they might find that they have been staring at it for ten minutes or even an hour without knowing.
[ooc: This is an open log for everyone to log out their White Catacombs adventures if they want. Note in the subject line of your tag if it is open to all characters or closed to certain ones. Be sure to check the Newspaper before posting here.]

The king reemerges just a few yards away charging up his next spell quickly. It usually doesn't take too long for Regis to weave his magic but he's hoping to end this duel with a massive lightning spell conducted by the water at their feet. This is a risky move, even for him but Regis is determined. Just when he charged enough mana, Regis' spell suddenly falters in mid-cast when a flash of reddish-hue light briefly engulfed him. A pained cry follows suit and the king suddenly drops his sword. The glaive clatters noisily against the water and rocks as Regis clutches his head in agony. Too much magic. Simply too much. He didn't pace himself properly and now he's in quite the pickle.
Magic Stasis only occurs when the caster is expelling more mana than he's drawing and that enormous inferno of flame followed by his next big spell certainly did him in. Regis grits his teeth as he extends his hand towards his sword, calling the glaive back to him despite clutching his aching head with his left hand. An eerie blue light lingers around Regis as he tries to regenerate his magic on a fly.
He's open for attack.]

If he hesitates, it's only brief. He's not the kind of guy who just attacks an unarmed man without reason. At least Regis re-arms himself, giving Zoro the silent go-ahead to follow through with his intended attack. Throwing his arms out wide, he dashes straight through the puddles toward his opponent.]
It's not over yet, old man!
[that's all the polite warning he'll give before plunging in with Crossing the Six Paths, snaking his swords this way and that and twisting himself as he cuts through his path without stopping. Six nearly-simultaneous hits. Not unblockable, but a true demonstration of his skill.]

However, Regis ends up losing his momentum when one of Zoro's attacks finally lands a hit. The king's eyes revert to normal after the strike and Regis stumbles backward in agony. Unlike the gash upon his arm from earlier, Zoro actually sliced his left side open. Regis stabs his sword into the murky water as he recoils away. Blood trickles down from the wound in nasty heaps flowing downward into the muddy water.
This duel is done; victory has chosen Zoro.]

You're pretty tough. That gonna be a problem? [with a nod to his wound. If it were him he would just keep going through the catacombs regardless, but Zoro is not exactly wise in that regard.]

The bounty of this catacomb belongs to the victor.
[Oh dammit! He should've known better than to challenge a swordsman only half his age. Youth and strength usually does prevail despite skill and experience. Though, Regis did manage to cleverly corner the young swordsman a few times with his careful planning.]

[with that he sheathes all three swords one after another, situating them comfortably on his hip, and then turns to grab a couple of crystals]
Let's do that again sometime, it was a good fight. I don't have a lot of defenses against magic stuff, that could've gone either way. [which is a statement of honesty, not patronizing - he already lost a shirt to fire, which is more than he can say for any of the fiery monsters he's already cut through to get down here. It really could have been one misstep, or a matter of seconds of stamina to allow for that last lightning-bolt to be cast.]

If you're ever in Fayren and in need of some practice or a glass of red, don't hesitate to seek me out.
[The friendliness in his tone could be felt. There's no hard feelings here.]
I bid you farewell, Roronoa Zoro.

I spend most of my time in Fayren, my crew has a house here. I'll take you up on both of those sometime.
[and with a tap of his fingers to his brow in salute, he's off. God knows if he'll ever find his way out.]
