[ Video ] the steady burst of snow is burning my hands, Iām frozen to the bones, I am
[This time when Kalenedral's phone camera comes on, it's the Knight himself who appears on screen. Someone from Azeroth would know what the blue-blue-green glow of his fiery eyes means, but otherwise the only immediate hint of death a slight pallor to his skin. And even that could be blamed on the odd lighting from those eyes...]
Attention, denizens of Genessia and all of its cities.
[His voice is deep, and quiet, and it has a strange... hollow, echoing quality overlaying it. If the eyes weren't a giveaway, there's definitely something supernatural in nature going on with this guy just based off his voice.]
I am Kalenedral, a Knight of the Ebon Blade. I am a recent arrival to your world, and have but one true requirement. I need combat.
[One armored finger goes up into the screen, as though to forestall the wrong kinds of suggestions. He's new here, sure, but he's not new to having to make these exact clarifications to those who are not of his kind.]
To clarify, I do not need sparring partners. I do not need to fill a guard position, wherein I would stand around ninety-nine percent of the time on the off chance of the occasional, meager scuffle. I am not interested in...
[What is that damn word? He searches for it for a moment, letting his hand drop back off-camera. Flakes of snow are settling on him, but he doesn't seem to notice it. Nor does he seem to be melting any of it. Nor, in fact, does his breath create a fog in the cold winter air.]
...brawling. Yes, that one.
Combat. Regularly available combat.

Do you know if these zombies can feel pain, on any level? Many of the lesser undead where I am from cannot.
no subject
What're you really looking for? Somebody to torture?

[After all, it may take another undead monstrosity to even be able to tell. He blinks at that last question, markedly not bothered by the thought.]
All of my kind have an intrinsic need to inflict pain and suffering on others. Combat happens to be my favored method of feeding that Hunger, and I prefer that my targets 'have it coming', as it were.
[Including by being on the wrong side of a battleground.]

[That seems to be more confusing than clarifying.]
Is it a battle to the death you're looking for then?

[The idea that he's on a world of... relative peace, though.]
[That's only now starting to sink in.]
[And he's not pleased with the line of dread that just ran down his spine.]
Are... there no wars here?
no subject
Not really. We do have our occasional crazy person who tries to invade a city or something, but otherwise it's generally peaceful here.
no subject
[Nothing in his demeanor changes, really. But he can see now exactly why there's no others of his kind here. Why he's here remains to be seen.]
Someone mentioned the zombies in Everglade. I suppose I will have to see if they are enough.

Others have mentioned Everglade and I don't think that's a fantastic idea myself, but it might do. There are also ruins that pop up regularly in Fayren full of monsters to slay. There might be things of interest to find there while you're clearing them out.

[Ball it all up, and maybe he can keep his sanity.]
Things of interest?

Finding enough of a source of what I need must be my priority, but that sounds like a worthy enough possibility.

"There are those who live only for combat?"

It is a matter of sustaining my un-life.

"Why not find a Parasite to sustain your mortality?"
[Suddenly, there was a masculine voice just off camera which speaks to her in a quieted tone.]
"I do not think there are Parasites in Genessia, milady."
no subject
That would not feed the Hunger all of my kind feels to inflict pain and suffering.
To be clear, I would not collapse and cease existing if sufficiently 'starved'. I would simply lose the will to choose better targets.

[Kalenedral is very matter-of-fact about it.]

I imagine that to be quite difficult, but I'll save speculation for later. There's a mechanism to this to hold the blood frenzy at bay, and it is simply combat? To the death? I'm sure you've heard that's lacking here.
