Bond 003 [Video]

[As the video starts, you can a dark blue bipedal dragon creature with black sclera and yellow eyes looking towards the camera somewhere in a park in the middle of the afternoon. It seems to be curious at the device in front of it until you see Sycamore approaching the creature.]

Garchomp, could you excuse me for a second?

[He then grabs the phone away from his Pokemon and turns to the camera with a smile.]

I'm sorry about my Garchomp. She's really in a good mood today, so I had to take her out around the Garden Park for her to get some exercise.

Speaking of which, does anyone want to join me here? It doesn't matter if you don't have any Pokemon. It's been a few months since my arrival here and to be honest, I think Garchomp might need some company other than me.

And don't worry, she's actually a sweetheart once you get to know her.

[That's a big Pokemon. It's not that Tori's unfamiliar with Pokemon entirely -- she certainly isn't, since they've shown up here before since she's been around -- but still... wow. Sort of cute, in a way. But that's besides the point here, isn't it?]

Garden Park, huh? I live at the apartment building across the street with my boyfriend! If you want tag alongs, I wouldn't mind being one. I could do with stretching out my legs a little, you know~?

[Besides, the guy who's offering is kind of cute. Probably a bit older than her, but still cute. ...hey, just because she has a boyfriend doesn't mean she can't point something like that out to herself.]

Sure, if you want to come right now, we're right nearby the pond.

[Sure, she has a boyfriend, but he can't ignore a new face in this city.]

[She's not so much new as she is finally emerging after being buried in her work ~~(which we're going to go with to explain her absence while her player has been bad at tagging, ahem)~~, but she sure is full of excitement to be doing something else. Working on amazing clothes may be her passion, but she can't ignore the calling of being around other people either.

And, again, this one is cute. She can look as long as she doesn't touch.]

Sure thing! I'll be there in a few minutes. See you then~

[Once the video is done, he then waits for the new girl to arrive as he watches his Garchomp wandering around the pond.]

[Tori arrives at the pond a few minutes later, quick to give a cheerful wave once she spots the handsome man and his Garchomp.]

Hey there~!

[Once he sees the same new girl waving at him, Sycamore approaches her with a smile on his face.]

Hello! Thank you for coming by.

Thank you for having me. [A brief pause.] Oh, where are my manners? I should have introduced myself long before this point, you know?

[Just because she wants to stick it to her formal, stuffy background doesn't mean she has to be rude. ...to people she doesn't want to be rude to, anyway.]

I'm Tori Crawford. A pleasure to meet you~!

I'm Professor Sycamore. It's nice to meet you as well.

[On cue, his Mach Pokemon approaches him before he rubs her snout, much to her delight.]

And I know you already seen here in the video, but this is my friend, Garchomp.

[She then lets out a friendly growl to Tori.]

[Yep, that's definitely a big Pokemon. Not as big as Tori first thought, but still big. Then again, most of her experiences with Pokemon have been with smaller ones. Not all, but most.]

Why hello there, Garchomp! [She gives an equally friendly grin in response to that growl.] Can we be friends too?

[She holds out her hand, but makes no move to actually touch the Pokemon -- she's waiting to see if Garchomp makes the first move, if she and Professor Sycamore are okay with it.]

[As you can expect, Garchomp starts to lean on her hand with her snout and rubs it against it.]

I think that's a yes. I guess she likes you.

Are you and your boyfriend new in this city?

[With a delighted laugh, Tori returns the rubbing with rubbing of her own, taking a few moments before answering the professor.]

Heh, you think? I'm glad she does. [At his question, she shakes her head.] No, we're not. Jeb and I have actually been around for a really long time! In fact, it feels a little crazy whenever I think about how long...

[As Garchomp enjoys Tori rubbing on her snout, Sycamore is surprised to learn that she and her boyfriend named Jeb actually stayed in Genessia for a long time now.]

Wow, long time as in a few years or just a few months now?

[Tori's going to keep on rubbing Garchomp's snout for as long as she's allowed. She does give the professor a glance once he asks that question, though.]

Geez... I think it's been about three years now? [She lets out a small puff of laughter.] Though for me, it's been even longer since I've been home. Jeb was back home before he was taken here, but I was in yet another world against my will before this one, you know?

[Three years? Wow, that's a first for him to learn that there are some residents that lived here longer than most of the residents he just met.

Yet, Sycamore became confused at that last statement. Another world against her own will? He starts to wonder about it as his Mach Pokemon nudges her hand as she rubs on her snout.]

Another world? Does that mean there are other worlds just like Genessia?

[Tori pauses in her actions for a moment, wondering if Garchomp wants her to stop. She'll take this moment to respond to Sycamore.]

There sure are. The last one I was at... well, it's a future, but I don't really buy the idea that it's any of ours. I never really paid much attention to that part anyway, you know? [She gazes downward.] There were a lot bigger things that ate up my focus.

It's not like that place was as nice as Genessia is.

[After a few minutes of rubbing, Garchomp backs away from Tori's hand, satisfied at her petting. As for Sycamore, he became curious about the world she mentioned.]

What do you mean? You mean it's not as peaceful in here?

Not in the slightest. I mean, I'm sure it's better now, but...

[She keeps her gaze where it is.]

All of us were brought there because it wasn't peaceful. Well, more like peace with other worlds were going to be threatened if something wasn't done, you know? If something wasn't done, our home worlds were probably going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble. ...I've always said we were fighting a war that wasn't ours, but when I put it that way...

[She shakes her head.]

Haha~! Sorry. I didn't mean to get all serious and ramble at you like that.

[Once he heard her story about this aforementioned world, he feels a great empathy to what she has been through.]

That's okay. Although this is the first world I've been dragged into, I never thought you were able to survive and arrive here unscathed.

Close enough to unscathed, at least! [She laughs, as if to brush the whole thing off.] But hey! Like I said before, this place is way nicer. Aside from the weird stuff that happens from time to time, Jeb and I get to live relatively normally, you know?

[That's not even something she can claim that they do back home, but she won't get into that. She already feels a bit embarrassed from going on and on before, even if he says it was fine.]

But enough about me! How about you? Been doing anything interesting to pass the time during your months here?

[As he saw her brush off her story, he might agree that she earned to live in Genessia as she did live in that world for quite a while. Not only that, she can spend her time here with her loved ones as well.]

It's not exactly interesting, but I did participate in a date auction.

[Speaking of which, he is still wondering who in a world signed him up for the auction.]

[...sorry, Sycamore. She doesn't mean to snort the way she does, it just comes out before she can catch it!]

A date auction? Jeez... how did that go?

[Because she can't help but be curious and nosy like that.]

For some reason, no one seems to bid for me. I'm guessing I'm just lucky.

[He may have a thing for the ladies, but he doubt his schedule might not let him.]

Lucky, huh? You saying you didn't want to be bid on?

[Still, she finds it a little odd. He's a pretty attractive man, so she had figured that tons of people would jump on the opportunity to go on a date with him! ...life is surprising, she supposes.]

The date auction sounds nice and all, but I prefer having to have a fair relationship, not being bought as an item.

[Also, he feels very awkward back in the date auction.]

...heh, that's a fair enough point. I feel the same way, you know? And when you put it that way, it is pretty weird, isn't it?

[Her own feelings with being seen as just a thing-- lesser than a person-- aside.]
