NEWSPAPER - BIWEEKLY EDITION
[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! There's a paperboy riding through the streets of Genessia flinging newspapers onto doorsteps or, if you're unlucky, through your window. Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]

The White Catacombs
After the contest held by Ravenguard and the Arcane Knights, a winner has finally been decided. Ravenguard was the group that came out on top, with their biggest contributor being Roronoa Zoro. Alwin Vajyre has said that Cellica’s Arcane Knights and those that helped them may have battled hard, but this victory proves which is the proper way to wield magic.
He has also stated that they will consider allowing the Arcane Knights to schedule time to use the White Catacombs, but that is something they will worry about later as they have some cleaning up to do and repairs to be made inside of the place.
Cellica Carkalyn was gracious in her loss and has stated that her and her Arcane Knights will search for a training grounds that they can truly call their own. And she would like to extend her thanks to all of those who helped, as well as offer them honorary membership into their group.
News From Around The Cities
A doctor in the Genessia City hospital has been charged with the murder of a patient. The doctor had apparently been cheating on his wife with her, and when she confronted him about exposing him, he killed her with a concoction of drugs. He’s currently on the run from the authorities.
Over in Attleton, Attleton University is building a new wing onto their school. They have felt that their facilities have been lacking for quite a long time, and wish to expand. A few of their more wealthy donors have already given the school money or donated equipment for the new wing.
In Nova City, activist have taking to protesting a research laboratory that has been running tests on animals. After some research data was stolen from the company and leaked to the community, some believe the practices on the animals are inhumane and wish to shut the place down for good. The lab has had to hire extra security to help with the angry protesters.
In Everglade, a group transporting a shipment were found dead. They were killed execution style by the criminals responsible for taking the shipment. No viable evidence was found at the scene of the murders, but surely anyone transporting goods around the city will be on guard.

The Doctor is Sin: A local doctor is responsible for the murder of a woman that he had been sleeping with. A level 1 payment is being offered to anyone that can track him down and capture him.
Nova City
Robots Of The Dead : A scientist in Nova City has been stealing dead bodies and implanting them with cybernetic parts so he control them. A level 2 bounty is being offered for his capture.
Everglade
Horror Discovered: The squid monster that unleashed its spawn into the sewers has been located, or at least, its general location has been discovered. A level 3 payment is being offered to anyone capable of locating it and extermination it before it can unleash another horde of spawn.

On The Hunt: A man in Fayren has been roaming the city and forest, brandish a pair of enchanted blades. It is said that one controls Wind and Fire while the other controls Earth and Water and he has a strong heart for battle. He approaches anyone who also has a weapon and engages them in combat to the death, whether they want to fight or not. A level 3 payment is being offered to anyone that can capture this man and his weapons.
Attleton
Claimed Youth: A man in Attleton has been performing a ‘ritual’ where he removes the still beating heart of his victims and devours it to gain their youth. A level 3 payment is being offered for the capture of this unstable gentlemen and anyone attempting it should approach him with caution.

The purging of residents who failed to declare whether or not they would stay have begun. Reports have shown that those hostile towards law enforcement officials visiting homes were forcefully removed and detained with charges of trespassing against them, while most others were given leniency and asked to apply for an extension and enroll in relocation services while they continue to decide their future in Everglade. This enrollment guarantees uncertain residents a month’s reprieve of thinking time.
Although it seems as if most residents have chosen to stay, a rather small percentage are choosing to relocate.

Title: Nova Trade Academy Burns Down
Info: Last Thursday night, Nova City experienced its first non-explosive blaze since the elimination of highly flammable materials in buildings over a century ago. Up until this case, all fires have been caused by large, high-temperature explosions due to the city's special precautions against accidental fires. The Nova Trade Academy is currently quarantined for evidence processing and to safely recover any survivors. There are two known fatalities and six injuries, a luckily low number due to the fires starting after operational hours.
The Nova City police department has stated that they are still investigating and are unable to name a suspect at this time, but that it is definitely a case of arson and that it involves the use of a strange substance they have yet to identify as an accelerant that seems to react with the protective chemicals used in manufacturing the buildings. Guardian Schnee reflected the sentiment, adding that the scene is currently locked down and not open to bounty hunters while evidence is being processed due to the sensitive nature of the material.
"A number of first responders were injured in sudden flare ups due to whatever chemical the arsonist used. We're sincerely hoping them a speedy recovery, as well as to the injured victims of the fire."
Guardian Schnee did share that they were able to piece together parts of a message from the arsonist in one of the still-standing areas of the Academy, but that it does not appear to mean anything specific yet. The only legible word in the message was "COMING." It appears that there was a second word, but it is unclear what due to the structure it was written on being too destroyed to make it out. Forensic scientists in Nova City are working on piecing back together parts of the building to see if this word or any others were left at the scene of the destruction.
The City Guardian and Nova City Police Department ask that anyone with information speaks to a Guardian or Deputy as soon as possible to help stop this arsonist before anyone else gets hurt. The Genessia Tribune will keep you updated on this story and let you know as soon as new developments arise.

Title: The Sky is Changing
Info: Notable lights have been witnessed in multiple areas of different cities, some resembling aurora borealis. Over the past month or so, scientists from both Attleton and Fayren have noted a subtle but noticeable different in the sky's coloring over the past month.
"I spend a lot of time watching the sky. The stars often tell us of magicks here on earth, altering what spells may or may not work at specific times in some of the more advanced works..." Harvay Kingsley, astronomer for the Ivory Tower, went on about some specifics of magic for a while, finally turning back to the point at hand, "..At night, the skies came from a deep blackberry to a dark azure and I began to look to the day's skies for answers. I began to notice the day's canvas painted with an admirable deep cerulean instead of its usual bright skies of blues and grays, depending on the weather. It's been that shade even shrouded in clouds."
Attleton's local scientist Janine Huang described a similar phenomenon, also seeming to cite the color cerulean but made note of "The most colorful lights I'd ever seen. It's not a natural phenomenon, at least not here in Attleton. The closest we get is a kid playing with a prism, but this was massive and seemed to disappear in a flicker rather than gradually fade away as it had faded in."
The last time strange lights were seen in the sky, it was accompanied by an increase in hospital visits. The same was temporarily the case in Attleton, but doctors have declared that there is nothing wrong with most of the patients coming in with the symptoms. Increased emotional distress and reactions both in Fayren and Attleton appear to have resulted in a stark rise in crimes of passion specifically in both cities. However, notable increases have also been found in Genessia City, Everglade, and Nova City to a much lesser extent.
