WHO: Kimmuriel and Szel
WHERE: Everglade, and the worst subarch ever
WHAT: Kim decides to explore this Everglade everyone keeps telling him about and instead falls facefirst into Hell.
WARNINGS: Well, Hellish imagery of Gluttony, and I mean. It's Szel.

When it comes down to it, after his last little mishap while exploring the city, exploring again on his own just days later may not very well have been the best idea, and especially not when that exploration takes him Everglade, after all that he's heard of it. But Kimmuriel is nothing if not confident in himself and his abilities, to the most arrogant degree, and at least this time? He's not there to red the minds of everyone that he passes. Non-human he may be himself, yes, but that doesn't mean that he actually wants to deal with anyone or anything that lives here while he takes his time to check things out. It's an easier thing to turn weak minds away from seeing him, as if he was never there in the first place.

The first thing of interest he sees in his exploration, however, is what looks like an archway lingering in the fog, similar to those he's seen dotting Fayren. And obviously, alone and this far from "home", means that it's high time to see what exactly these even actually are.

That was perhaps Kimmuriel's first mistake.

Everglade is gone, the moment he steps through. And in its place lay a realm the like of which he's only ever seen in the heads of demons pulled up from the lower planes.

It's an unnerving discovery. Disgusting, really, surrounded by the constant drone and chittering of insects, and the feeling of rotting meat underfoot, and yet...it's fascinating to see, up close with his own eyes. No one he had talked to had mentioned this being a part of the eerie city, and a quick thought across their mental link told Jarlaxle that he's likely be away for quite some time.

Giant webs stretched across the vein-like, gently pulsing trees he passes under, each given a wide, respectful berth by the drow, even if they housed no spiders that he could see. But as far as he could see, nothing else appeared to live in this strange, almost cave like realm - a thought that gives him all the confidence he needs to continue further through the rot and filth, because there must be something to such a place.

Like the large, black marble fortress in the middle of it all as he finally breaks through the toxic forest. Well. In that case, maybe he's not as alone as he thought he was, though approaching the spiked, insect covered gate tells him nothing about how to actually get inside.

And frankly, at this point, he's far too curious to just give in and leave, but at least this time, as he throws his power out looking for another consciousness to touch - someone whose attention he can grab - he's a little more cautious about it.

And someone he found. A massive presence that, for the moment, seemed to be more caught in some deep slumber, and the nudge it had felt was slowly, groggily shaking it awake.

The realm seemed to react to the gradual awakening of it's owner, the slow, steady pulse slowly picking up to a somewhat more lively one as whatever sat inside the pristine black fortress began to focus on the entity that had gone about awakening it.

Now, while Szel could damn well be as eerie as he liked and communicated through the very air itself, or perhaps send a deep, rumbling query across the walls of the cave... he was also exceptionally lazy right now. God, what he wouldn't have given to just have the usual paging box in the front like a proper gated community.

Instead, the eyes of a select mass of wasps on the gate flashed and danced, and the insects quickly converged in a single section, a voice slithering from the swarm.

Annoyed, perhaps a touch still sleepy-

"I hope you have a very good reason for this, I was very busy."

Sleeping.

Sleeping is super important.
