NEWSPAPER - BIWEEKLY EDITION
[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! There's a paperboy riding through the streets of Genessia flinging newspapers onto doorsteps or, if you're unlucky, through your window. Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]

Nova Trade Academy Burns Down
Last Thursday night, Nova City experienced its first non-explosive blaze since the elimination of highly flammable materials in buildings over a century ago. Up until this case, all fires have been caused by large, high-temperature explosions due to the city's special precautions against accidental fires. The Nova Trade Academy is currently quarantined for evidence processing and to safely recover any survivors. There are two known fatalities and six injuries, a luckily low number due to the fires starting after operational hours.
The Nova City police department has stated that they are still investigating and are unable to name a suspect at this time, but that it is definitely a case of arson and that it involves the use of a strange substance they have yet to identify as an accelerant that seems to react with the protective chemicals used in manufacturing the buildings. Guardian Schnee reflected the sentiment, adding that the scene is currently locked down and not open to bounty hunters while evidence is being processed due to the sensitive nature of the material.
"A number of first responders were injured in sudden flare ups due to whatever chemical the arsonist used. We're sincerely hoping them a speedy recovery, as well as to the injured victims of the fire."
Guardian Schnee did share that they were able to piece together parts of a message from the arsonist in one of the still-standing areas of the Academy, but that it does not appear to mean anything specific yet. The only legible word in the message was "COMING." It appears that there was a second word, but it is unclear what due to the structure it was written on being too destroyed to make it out. Forensic scientists in Nova City are working on piecing back together parts of the building to see if this word or any others were left at the scene of the destruction.
The City Guardian and Nova City Police Department ask that anyone with information speaks to a Guardian or Deputy as soon as possible to help stop this arsonist before anyone else gets hurt. The Genessia Tribune will keep you updated on this story and let you know as soon as new developments arise.
The Sky is Changing
Notable lights have been witnessed in multiple areas of different cities, some resembling aurora borealis. Over the past month or so, scientists from both Attleton and Fayren have noted a subtle but noticeable different in the sky's coloring over the past month.
"I spend a lot of time watching the sky. The stars often tell us of magicks here on earth, altering what spells may or may not work at specific times in some of the more advanced works..." Harvay Kingsley, astronomer for the Ivory Tower, went on about some specifics of magic for a while, finally turning back to the point at hand, "..At night, the skies came from a deep blackberry to a dark azure and I began to look to the day's skies for answers. I began to notice the day's canvas painted with an admirable deep cerulean instead of its usual bright skies of blues and grays, depending on the weather. It's been that shade even shrouded in clouds."
Attleton's local scientist Janine Huang described a similar phenomenon, also seeming to cite the color cerulean but made note of "The most colorful lights I'd ever seen. It's not a natural phenomenon, at least not here in Attleton. The closest we get is a kid playing with a prism, but this was massive and seemed to disappear in a flicker rather than gradually fade away as it had faded in."
The last time strange lights were seen in the sky, it was accompanied by an increase in hospital visits. The same was temporarily the case in Attleton, but doctors have declared that there is nothing wrong with most of the patients coming in with the symptoms. Increased emotional distress and reactions both in Fayren and Attleton appear to have resulted in a stark rise in crimes of passion specifically in both cities. However, notable increases have also been found in Genessia City, Everglade, and Nova City to a much lesser extent.
More Choices in Everglade
A meat market designed to cater to those with special dietary needs have opened in Everglade. These markets, called Edible Alternatives, offer a range of different cuts of meat. Based on an anonymous survey taken, this meat market will serve a finite amount of meat each day to keep stocks fresh. Also available are seasonings, fine wines, and other essential items to compliment meat choices. They have also started a loyalty program for customers interested in saving a bit of red.

Loyalty Program:
Customers can apply for a card by providing photo ID, and each time they shop, they must present the loyalty card and photo ID at the register and receive a stamp on their loyalty card. Gathering enough points can be used to deduct the price from the next purchase of meat. For every one redbill spent, one point shall be given.
A full card gives a maximum 25% off. If the card is inactive for one month, it will revert to a basic loyalty card and points will need to be accumulated again.
Active card members (three months or more) will be eligible to win a special rib roast dinner at the end of the calendar year.
- 10 points=1% off;
20 points =2% off, and so on;
150 points=16% off;
160 points=17% off, and so on.

Death In The Warehouse
Several dead bodies were discovered in Everglade inside of a warehouse, including the body of the owner. The wife of a man that was killed grew worried when her Husband didn't return home for two nights. When she went to his place of work, which happened to be the warehouse, she discovered his body as well as the others.
The mark of the Children of Elo was carved into every murder victim, though it doesn't appear that there was any struggle or confrontation when it happened. Investigations believe that none had been able to see the attack coming. Several shipping crates that weren't on a manifest were found empty, but everything that appears on the manifest was there.

Vile Culprit: Someone needs help tracking down a criminal that stole their car. The client requests a meeting to give you the details. Upon meeting with the client, he reveals that his children have been kidnapped and held for ransom and he needs someone to help find them. He's offering a level 3 payment for doing it.
Everglade
Mummified: Several corpse have been found dried out and withered in a mummified type like state. How this is being done is unknown, but a level 2 payment is being offered to anyone that can capture the culprit.
Fayren
Sinking Feeling: A mage capable of manipulating Earth has murdered and robbed several people by confining them in the ground. A level 2 payment is being offered to anyone that can bring the one responsible to justice.
Attleton
Let It Go: Employees at three separate restaurants were found frozen to death after being locked in their storage freezers. A level 2 payment is being offered to anyone that can find the culprit.
