[There's a new employee at Aster Technologies in Nova City. Kylo Ren has reluctantly accepted that he isn't leaving here any time soon and so he needs to find work. A little at a loss with no higher instruction, he doesn't want to draw overt attention to himself at the moment and he has a hard time deciding what sort of job would be suitable to his unique talents. He finally decides to join Aster as a technical assistant in work that is of some interest to him. But he's no engineer himself. He can craft certain things - having made his own lightsaber - but it wasn't a skill that the general populace needed. For now, he starts with this low level job, virtually a gopher for nearly all the other employees in technical positions. It likely wasn't something he'll be happy doing - but for now it will have to suffice. He can be seen around the building, looking sullen and moody as he grudgingly does what he's asked to do.]

Ni would work with others, if he had to, or if it otherwise amused him to do so. With no real power over most of his coworkers, it wasn't near as amusing as he'd want. Assistants, however, they were a lot more entertaining. Ni watched him from time to time, out of sight, of course.

Whenever Kylo is next paused or working on something, Ni is just there, either by creeping up on him silently or just flat out teleporting behind him. He leaaaaned around him dramatically to see whatever he was doing.

"Morning!" he said cheerfully. It wasn't morning. Like an awful parody of a mad scientist, Ni was in a shabby labcoat and glasses, with hair gelled up to look all the more ridiculous. The bunny slippers and doll under one arm was a strange addon to the look.

With his enhanced Force senses, Ren could tell when Ni was near but it still irritated him and it showed. His shoulders were hunched up with tension, his teeth gritted as he glanced with a flash of anger at the other man. But he was supposed to be doing his job and unfortunately, for now, he had to do what he was told.

"What is it you want?" His tone was curt and short with no regard for pleasantries.

Ni flitted to the side of him and leaned back over the table, his head cocked to the side like he was too lazy to hold it straight. The bunny doll had its head turned towards Kylo, eyes looking over Ni's stomach at him.

"Testy! That won't do, don't you have to be nice? You do have to listen! I want you to be nice. You can do that, can't you?" He flashed Kylo a cheeky grin. The new guy was easily riled wasn't he?

Ren leaned away from them.

"I don't remember seeing that in the job description."

Ni leaned a bit closer. Invading someone's personal space? He would never.

Okay, he so would, and in strange ways. He tossed the bunny doll up, caught it, and thrust it towards Kylo to waggle it in his face.

"Awww! But it's there! Don't you believe me? He's smiling, you should try it!" Despite the smile, there's a terribly mean look in Ni's eyes. This is great.

There was no smile. Quite the opposite, Kylo Ren looked grim. It was instinct spurred on by frustrated anger that made him put out his hand, palm facing toward Ni and the doll. It was like there was now an invisible barrier between them - a subtle force gently pushing and urging Ni back or at least keeping him in place. It wasn't a Force Push, as such, or even a freezing hold. It was like a sort of telekinetic equivalent of someone putting their hands out to keep somebody from coming closer by keeping them at arm's length.

"Unless you have something important that you need assistance with, stop bothering me," he scowled.

Ni withdrew the bunny but didn't step back. If it wouldn't ruin the fun too fast, he'd test that barrier.

"Making the new employee feel welcome is very important!" he cried, pretending as if he didn't notice the force keeping him from touching Kylo. "Don't you just love the opportunities here? You've got so much wasted talent!"

"Opportunities that don't involve smiling or being nice for no reason. I'm here to work and earn my way," he stated tersely. His hand slowly clenched and the tension in the air may feel constricting for a moment.
