Sup people of Genessia.

I want to improve myself in certain areas when it comes to acting. One can never be perfect after all, no matter how much I try I still have areas to work on.

So this is to basically ask a couple questions:

1) How many styles of sword styles are there? I know of fencing, but I am also aware of other styles. Also if you happen to know of the certain style if one would be willing to accept teaching me for a price we can discus per lesson?

2) Anyone know how to use a gun?

These seem odd, but I want to try expanding what I am able to do and be able to act in more than what my momager wanted me to.

With regards to fencing, I've heard of Kendo, and...mm, well, the others I've learned didn't really have names. Medieval, maybe?

Most sword play has a name attached to it, though I guess the older it is, the less likely it might have a name. But I'm sure there is a book somewhere that has it.

Momager is a manager that's also ones mother. My mother was my manager before I came here, this momager.

Mm, that makes sense. Suppose when one's world is one's country, calling it simply swordplay suffices. Longsword-style is about as specific as it could get, and that's my area of expertise.

If you'd like a demonstration, I don't mind making time.

It was for her, she knew what she was doing after all what I did back home and what she did when she was younger was the same thing. So she had the experience and the know how.

My Deputy Guardian Karla is adept in swordsmanship. You can check with her to see if she's willing to teach you some things.

I don't. Granted, she is from a world not like my own. Even if I knew the name, it probably wouldn't clue you into what it was, because you might not have ever heard of it.

You would actually bring a very good point there, because odds are I probably wouldn't if she is from another world.

But it doesn't mean I can't learn never the less.

True. If her name has a style, I'm sure she'll give it to you if you two meet.

Just to improve myself. Nothing more honestly. Which for most people is probably really, really odd.

Not really. Some practice martial arts and such for recreational purposes and not because they plan to use it in live combat.

If I could avoid combat, I would. Things like this don't necessarily help either way. More so if both sides fight with magic and all that jazz.

[ Ayame normally ignores network posts that ask for lessons or practice help in swordsmanship, but this is probably the first one she came across who didn't want to learn how to use a sword to hurt someone. For acting, now that's curious, so she can't help but respond in text.

Ayame manages to see Ted and David's prior responses. Olympic fencing and modern kendo are good, but are both too watered down to sport and probably not flashy enough for screen. Krista is going to need a clever choreographer for that to look cool. Karla is indeed adept, but Ayame has difficulty in telling anything about Karla, so she can't say if that woman is going to be good at teaching. ]

The number of sword styles that exist can range in the hundreds, and that is on Earth alone. If simply improving your acting is your only goal, I suggest just picking up stage fighting. It's not meant to be a practical in live combat, but it took inspiration from techniques from actual combative disciplines. It's good exercise, at least.

I am aware of stage fighting, I just like having skills that someone might look for... Even if they seem odd and never really going to be used. But if it comes to it just stage combat would be okay.

Plus I love exercise.

I see. Surely there are many here who would be willing to teach you. We have plenty of swordfighters here. If not, there are always masters-of-arms with academies in Fayren.

[ Ayame doesn't mind teaching, but she's rather busy with her business that she really only has one day off every week. This makes her a bit picky on who to teach too. Speaking of teaching, she does occasionally share her knowledge with someone and a small group of youths, enough that they see her as their teacher ]

Oh, Honnouji Academy in Genessia has a sword fighting club, and they meet at the Garden Park from time to time. I personally know the students, they're a friendly and disciplined group who would spare their time to teach you what they know. They practice historical fencing with longswords, sabre, rapier, katana, and a variety of short swords and daggers, and do full-contact sparring. Just tell them Ayame-sensei sent you.

Didn't say it was going to be free. Though admittedly without using my ability, my know how in using both are not great.

Recoil of a gun will probably hurt me though since I've never used one.

Well...I can't really say I know of a suitable place. Is there a place that can handle this type of thing?

Can't say yet because I have to find it again. If I can't find it, I can easily find abandoned places that are steady or something... or go to the Sand Gym.

seems like a lot of useless work for the possibility that maybe someones gonna require you to actually know how to fight to cast you
you know thats what stunt doubles are for right
also theres like 400 types of guns and you weirdly werent being specific with that one

I prefer doing my own stunts than using a body double or stunt double.

A basic handgun. Seems like the easiest type of learn first.

Should really ask the agency what they are doing though since they are meant to be helping in the getting work area.

This is why I kinda miss my momager... Sure she picked everything I did even if I kind of didn't want to do it, but she at least didn't get part of my pay.

She was always very good at her job, honestly.

Current role goal. Fighting sure I did at home because you know magical girl kinda deal, but I have always liked how action movies worked and always wanted to try at least one. Mom wouldn't allow it though for some reason.

Prop guns... though...there have been incidents of people still getting shot with those too, so nerf guns probably are the best bet.

Yeah she was still making her own money, just using me to do it in a very different way. Didn't mind because as I said she was good at her job.

No, magical girl as in actual fact. Though yeah the transformation you get in shows... not exactly smart things. You'd get attacked if your transformation takes a minute to do. Probably die as well, so I find those shows to be quite unrealistic.

Character, hm? I know I want to try to get out of the comfort zone my mother put me in of being a love interest. If I could think of a character I'd want to play it would be a strong female type who has to learn to be strong instead of already being strong and become the leader she is meant to be.

You do. Must have a lot of experience.
