[Within a couple of days of the Shyster invasion coming to an end, Xander gets on the public network. As Guardian, he feels obligated to speak about it.]

As you know, Fayren recently fell under siege a few days ago. Strange creatures who moved about on bouncing platforms were terrorizing the populace. Rest assured, those foul cretins will never again have the privilege of gracing our streets.

Their ringleader was a creature of a different race who used the same method of transportation. He called himself Mack. He had taken up residence in Fawn's Forge, but fortunately, with the help of a few other brave citizens, he was dispatched. Once he fell, his underlings all fled or were caught.

First, let me take this time to thank those of you who came to the city's defense. Because of your efforts, lives and property were both saved. In the future, I will be working more closely with the bounty hunters, to ensure that proper rewards can be issued to those who rally to Fayren's aid.

And second, I want to issue a warning to any other hoodlums who might be considering a similar course of action.

[At this point, Xander's already stern countenance grows even darker. His eyes in particular radiate an intense fury.]

Save yourselves the trouble and don't try to disrupt and jeopardize the lives of the citizenry. You will regret it. Let it be known that I have zero tolerance for acts of terror or murder, and you will be dealt with swiftly and mercilessly -- by my own hands if necessary.

[Xander then takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. His face returns to its neutral expression.]

[Xander has been here for several months now, and all the time he has been using the outfit he arrived in for formal occasions. However, it also doubles as riding armor, and that last encounter made him realize that he realistically needs a second formal outfit for public appearances. He also recalls from a conversation a few months earlier that one of the people he met here has a tailor shop here.

It doesn't take long for him to find Atelier Iris. And once he does, he walks right in. Once inside, he keeps an eye out for the owner or any employees she may have hired.]

Not as far as I've been able to learn. At this point I'm tempted to chalk it up to causing chaos for the sake of it.

What exactly was his motive for the attack? [Though it wasn't like someone wanting to cause random chaos was out of the norm.]

I don't know. So far, I've been unable to figure one out. I suppose it's possible that they just wanted to cause chaos. Or perhaps Mack had his designs on Fayren itself.

Have you arranged for a sweep of the city to find any stragglers or to see if they tampered with anything or placed any traps or such?

Yes, I have. When Mack was slain, it appears all of his minions vanished. The only evidence they were here at all is the damage they've done to buildings and roads.

[Action] - Atelier Iris

[ Even with Ragyo picking up the slack, Ayame likes to make herself busy with work. With her planned overnight vacation tomorrow, Ayame made sure to be present in the shop for the entire week, just to make up for being absent tomorrow. So luckily for Xander, she'll be the first person to greet him. Leaving the backroom wearing one of her creations, with a roll of cloth in her arms and a measuring tape draped over her neck, Ayame puts the roll down and greets Xander with a nod ]

Oh Xander, what a welcome surprise. What can I do for you today?

[ The store's vintage interior with the assortment of blunt swords on display, with the crackling fireplace by the waiting lounge gives the store a homey appeal. Which Ayame is pretty proud of ]

[Xander smiles politely and inclines his head in Ayame's direction. He's pleased to see the owner is in.]

It's good to see you again, as well.

[He then looks around at his surroundings again. He appreciates the decor she's using.]

I'm actually here to see if you could fit me for formal wear. I need an outfit to wear for public appearances besides the one I arrived in. Can you help me with that?

Oh, of course. I have fitting room 3 available, so right this way please.

[ Ayame gestures towards the direction of the available fitting room with an open hand, grabbing her notepad with a pen ]

It's been a while. How have you been?

[ She is aware of the current thing that happened on Fayren, but she figured she should ask how he's doing anyway. Aside from that attack, Ayame things Xander would have done other things worth talking about ]

[Xander nods as he begins to walk toward the fitting room. He tries to allow himself to relax, if only just a little bit.]

It has. Life has been quite busy for me the past few months, as you may expect. But it's nothing surprising.

[It'd be hard to surprise a crown prince with busywork, after all.]

...Well, the invasion we repelled a few days ago excepted, of course.

This might seem odd now but was there anyone injured while dealing with it?

There were some injuries. However, they're being tended to now. Our healers are on the job.

[It was one of the first things Xander had attended to when everything went down. He wanted to save as many lives as he could.]

Was there any sign of magic suddenly vanishing? I mean ever since that newspaper about it months back, I've been keeping an eye out for if it were to happen again.

[She figured that it might not happen again at this point, but yet at the same time something like that seemed like it shouldn't just suddenly stop like that.]

Looks like I wasn't the only one who encounter those creatures.

But I managed to defend the streets while I was visiting Fayren. Though I didn't get out of there unharmed.

I would be surprised if there were a resident of Fayren who didn't encounter them.

[After all, they were kind of everywhere.]

I see. Did the healers tend to you?

Actually, I stopped by at Genessia's hospital to tend my injuries.

Although, I wasn't aware there are healers in Fayren.

[This might make sense as he is still new to the concepts of Fayren and the other cities.]

[Xander's threat towards the end of the message would particularly catch Cipher's interest. Could he back those words up, he wonders? That could be something worth testing out some time in the future... but for now, he'll keep up his human facade.]

It's a relief to see that Fayren now has a Guardian that not only does their job properly, but is also willing to make public appearances.

I trust there weren't any serious injuries?

[Xander shakes his head. He doesn't have any comments to make about the first sentence Cipher spoke.]

Nothing permanent, no. Our healers have been busy to make sure of that.

I feel I must offer my apologies. Had I been present in the city that day, I would not have hesitated in offering my aid.

[Xander looks into the camera, curiously analyzing the woman on the other side. He's never seen her before, so she may be new.]

They all wore the same red, body-covering garb and white mask. If I had to guess, I'd say they were each three feet tall at the most.

[ Though her eyes flick toward his image for a moment, staring at armor the likes of which she hasn't really seen before, she's just as soon looking a bit to the side as if in thought.

Well, they sound too small to be Beast Fiends. However, they sound about the right height to be a certain missing familiar. It can't hurt to ask. ]

You didn't happen to see a floating one that looked like a cat, did you?

I encountered some of those creatures and fought some of them. It's a relief that they weren't all that strong, but their numbers were overwhelming...

[Liora found it to be good practice for her own combat experience, although the shysters weren't strong enough to warrant even attempting to use her Light magic...]

[Xander finds himself at a temporary loss of words when he looks into the screen. A dragon? Here? Sure, she isn't the first one he's met, but you still don't meet a dragon every day.]

Ahem. Er, yes. I slew many of them myself. For a group that size to appear seemingly from nowhere is a serious concern.
