Log - Bounty Hunting
Who: Erza Scarlet, Mavis Vermillion
What: The Big Hit - Serrate
Where: Genessia City - Mya Mullins' bakery
When: March 16, around 6 pm
Warnings: violence
Erza had been in Genessia for a little while now, and now that she's gotten her bearings, a demonstration of what the Fairy Tail guild can do seems to be in order. With word of a team of hitmen targeting business owners and other citizens of Genessia City, this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Plus, it gives her a chance to work with Mavis, the guild's founder - it's a huge honour to do so, as far as Erza's concerned, and her illusion magic seems like a perfect fit for this job.
The plan is a fairly straightforward one - it seemed most likely that the hitman would strike when the business closes, to cut down on possible witnesses. The two of them had already talked to Mya Mullins, telling her to wait inside for their signal, and when anyone suspicious was hanging around the area, Mavis would create an illusion of Mya leaving the bakery to draw out their target. Erza would attack when the hitman's guard was down, and she should be able to make quick work of the would-be assassin.
For now, the two mages are staking out the bakery from a nearby building, looking for any signs of trouble. This mission was especially personal for Erza; nobody is going to attack someone who owns a bakery and get away with it.

When Erza told her about that bounty, Mavis was only too happy to team up with her. Someone targetting a bakery? Such a criminal had to be stopped as fast as possible. After they talked to Mya Mullins, Mavis found a nice hiding spot for herself and for Erza near the bakery. They couldn't be seen but they had a clear view of the bakery's front door.
Mavis had no doubt the two of them would be able to apprehend the hitman without too much trouble. Yet the blong Fairy Tail founder had to wonder what the possible motives of the suspect could be. She was also starting to think of how to use this bounty as a way to strengthen the relationship between Fairy Tail and Genessia's Guardians.
She was deep in thoughts when a noise caught her attention.

Figuring this seems like as good of a time as any to break the silence, Erza decides to speak up, keeping an eye on the bakery as she does so. "I have to say, it's an honour to be working with you, First. I saw a bit of your talent at the Grand Magic Games, but you came up with a plan so quickly here; if tonight's the night that this hitman decides to strike, it should be over in moments!" She glances down the street; she spots the occasional person crossing the road, but this particular street is deserted for now.

She closes her eyes, feeling the rush of magic as Erza summons her sword. Erza is a very skilled mage and a precious member of Fairy Tail. When her red haired guildmate starts talking, Mavis blushes a bit at first at her praise but soon, her expression turns smug. "For sure! Whoever that hitman is, they're no match for two of the most powerful members of Fairy Tail!" She smiles brightly at Erza and gives her a friendly wink.

With nobody nearby, and this being the only path to and from the bakery, Erza figures they can talk for a bit, though she'll still be watching for any signs of activity down the street. "So how have things been going with you and Ze... with your relationship?" She still finds it weird to think that Zeref is here, let alone that he's dating Fairy Tail's founder, but she so rarely gets to talk about this sort of thing considering that all of her friends (herself included) are perpetually stalled as far as romance is concerned.

The question kinda takes Mavis aback. Though, to be fair, it's not the first time that Erza asks her about her relationship with Zeref. So she shouldn't be surprised anymore. It's just that with all that is happening back in Magnolia, Mavis is not used to having casual conversations with her guildmates anymore. It's a nice change of pace.
Mavis looks up at Erza, trying very hard to refrain from blushing. "Pretty well. I mean it feels... odd sometimes." Like they jumped back in time. "But in a nice way." She's still worried about the curse sometimes, but somehow she can feel Ankhseram's influence is much weaker in Genessia. "I feel lucky we get to have a second chance, somehow."

Erza's eyes narrow as she sees someone walking down the street in their direction. Not exactly unusual behaviour, and nothing seems off about their stance, but they're fairly bundled up even though it's not particularly cold or wet out. "Over there. Do you think that might be the hitman?"

When Erza abruptly changed subject, Mavis' behavior immediately switched to work mode again. She eyed the man in question. "He sure wears heavy layers of clothing," Mavis whispered, "He could very well be hiding Something underneath. But we can't apprehend him until we're completely sure."

Erza's fairly tense as she watches the man make his way down the street. She wants to leap out from hiding and question him, but if they're trying to establish Fairy Tail's reputation, then it's probably best not to start by interrogating random passers-by. (especially if Erza's doing the interrogating, considering her methods amount to 'headbutt the person if her questions aren't answered immediately')
