Suffering Sonico [Following Koishi's Event]

 Following Koishi's attack on the city and, more importantly, the attack on Sonico, she has ended up in hospital with multiple wounds. Her limbs are heavily bandaged, as is her head, a patch over her eye. One arm is also held in a cast.
Day 1: Sonico is in intensive care. She is being denied visitors.
Day 2 and 3: Sonico is allowed visitors, but she is still unconscious, various wires and drips attached to different machines.
Day 4-6: Sonico wakes up. She is finally able to sit up slightly and take soft food. She is allowed visitors, for a short period of time and tells the nurse she is happy to receive them, but, if they arrive, they'll notice there's a sadness and a pain surrounding her that wasn't there before.
Day 7: Sonico can finally leave. Most of the bandages have been removed to reveal angry red wounds beneath, including a deep scratch over her lips, and her arm is still in a cast. She can walk, barely, so is ready to go home and hide.

Hello everyone,

I am afraid that I will be unable to return to work, both at the diner and with any model positions, for a short period of time. I am home and I am safe, so please do not be alarmed.

However, I am unable to take full proper care of my kitten and I am hopeful that someone will be able to look after her. She is a large cat and requires outdoor exercise, but she is loving and very friendly.

[When Athrun heard what happened, he had rushed right over to the hospital where Sonico was being kept and made his way to her room. For several hours now, he's kept watch over the unconscious young woman, fervently hoping that she'd be all right.

Eventually, Athrun's vigilance pays off. He notices Sonico's eyes flutter open as she wakes up. Immediately, Athrun hops out of his seat and moves over to the side of the bed, hands clenching the sidebar. Concern is written all over his face, and it may very well be the first thing she sees.]

*When Sonico's eyes open, everything is rather hazy at first. It takes a few seconds before her sight adjusts and she can take anything in. Indeed, the first thing she sees is Athrun's concern, but her medication is still working its way through her system, so she is struggling to connect. Where has she woken up? Why does he look so worried? Her lips move, but she can't speak at first. When she finally does, her voice is soft and husky*

[Athrun feels a warmth begin to build in his eyes, and does his best to blink back the tears he knows are coming. Even so, his eyes still visibly water as he purses his lips.]

I...I came here as soon as I heard. You had me scared.

*Sonico frowns at the pain on Athrun's face and how upset he seems. She doesn't like seeing him like this. By why? She swallows hard, struggling to put words together. It's then that she moves her head and her eyes focus on reality: the bloodied bandages, the broken arm, the wires and tubes. She jerks, suddenly, eyes and mouth wide in fright*

*But she can't manage anymore words, trying to sit up but failing, her expression completely alarmed*

[ She felt terrible having missed the strange event that had occurred last week, and the terrible violence that had resulted. So many people injured. Had she known about it as it happened, she could have healed the people involved, but alas by the time she did, nearly everyone had already been admitted to a hospital, where she would likely not make much of a difference in speeding their recovery.

Mostly. Sonico was a little more personal, and thus while she couldn't heal her, she could certainly make her feel better. That is, if she could stem the worried tears from her eyes. ]

Oh Sonico-han, I'm so sorry! I should have been paying more attention to the news!

[ She has some flowers for her, which she sets aside on one of the small tables. ]

[Unlike the others, Professor Sycamore is very busy in his jobs as well his Pokemon research for two days. It wasn't until the next day when he heard about what happened to Sonico.

After his work at GSRF, he heads to the hospital to visit his neighbor. Right now, he's holding some flowers he bought along the way to give her as a get well gift.

But once he enters Sonico's room with the nurse's permission, he sees not only her bandaged injuries as well the air of sadness and pain around her. If he can tell from them, he knew that she have been through a lot.]

Hello, Sonico... I'm sorry I didn't learn about what happened to you until now.

*Sonico turns her head slowly at the sound of the voice, though she doesn't need to look to know who was speaking to her. She tries to smile, but it is a little painful what with the deep cut on her lips*

Konoka... It's okay. Please. Don't be sorry. It wasn't your fault.

*It's difficult to speak, so in the end she nods softly towards the flowers*

*By day six Sonico is sitting up. There is a small book open on her lap, but she wasn't really looking at it. She smiles slowly at Sycamore when he arrives, then lowers her eyes and slightly shakes her head*

[ Konoka was about to go even further with self blame, but Sonico's soft voice cut through that, and she hugged herself to stop. ]

Yeah, I came by to see how you were recovering. There's... not much I can do since the hospital's gotten ahold of you.

[While he can hide his past injury to Sonico a few weeks ago, he didn't want to do the same thing as unlike him before, her injuries were almost severe. He then puts the bouquet on her bedside table while he sits down next to her.]

After I heard about that incident on the news, I thought you were killed. I'm just relieved that you're okay now.

Still, I felt bad since I haven't heard about the incident until today...

*Sonico bites her lip as he talks, looking at the bouquet of flowers that he brought for her. When he mentions being killed, she gasps softly and turns to him, her eyes wet* N-no. Please. Don't feel bad for me. It is my own fault. Please...

*Sonico looks at her friend with large, frightened eyes, and looks down at her body - arms and legs covered in bandages that hide the stitches underneath*

[Sycamore grows solemn as he sees tears rolled onto her face. Sure, he was relieved that he avoided another incident, but he felt guilty that Sonico had to endure this tragedy.]

No, it's my fault. Maybe if I wasn't busy at work, I should have helped you or anyone in that incident.

[Sure, he's not a warrior like anyone who joined the battle against a transformed resident, but he felt that he might help someone evacuate the area or give them first-aid during that incident.]

[ Konoka frowned upon seeing her recoil. She hadn't experienced something like that personally, but it felt like she knew that pain. The fact that she couldn't do anything despite her powers felt even more wretched as a result. But... ]

[Instinctively, Athrun reaches out to stop Sonico. His hand lands on her shoulder -- the one not connecting a broken arm.]

*Slowly, Sonico turns her head and lifts her face towards Konoka, her eyes not quite focusing on her. She swallows slowly and shakes her head*

I don't mind...if it takes a while. It was..my fault..after all.

*Sonico shakes, her eyes springing full of tears as she focuses on Athrun again. It takes her a moment to be able to speak again, her breath panicking slightly*

Safe? Safe...? But...Arro? Safe?

*Again, she tries to sit up to say if the friend she tried to save to was nearby, hoping he wasn't killed...*

[It had taken Kay a few days to learn about her injuries, no other excuse than the fact he has been either at work or distracted by his own problems with Cassian. He knocks at the door as politely as he can and peers inside the hospital room, holding a small bucket of flowers.]

[ Konoka's voice is low but pretty adamant. ]

I don't think you could have seen anything like that coming!

[ When Ayame heard of Sonico's predicament, she made sure to make time just to visit her friend. Ayame visited the hospital the day after Sonico was admitted, just to really hang out in the room even while Sonico was unconscious. She's read claims that even unconscious people can register things around them, and having some company or people talking to them can (supposedly) help. Whether that's true or not, Ayame just wanted to be there. Healing from such a traumatic event is a familiar scenario to her.

On the day that Sonico regains consciousness, she will find Ayame sitting by her hospital bed, reading a newspaper with a leg crossed over the other. Soft music play in the background coming from a holographic device by one of the coffee tables in the room, in a low volume as to not bother the patient. The blinds are raised, letting warm sunlight seep through the glass.

Without breaking her calm and diverting her attention from the paper, Ayame speaks up ]

Good morning. How are you feeling?

[ Ayame's greeting was so casual as if nothing had happened, but with a bit of lighthearted irony in it. For that, the music, and her lack of any panic is just meant to help make Sonico feel less frantic. ]

I asked your nurses yesterday if I could bring you something to eat from outside of the hospital. It took quite a bit of convincing, but I managed to get you something that I thought you should try. It's very good.

[ Ayame taps on the cup of chocolate-banana flavored yogurt on Sonico's overbed table ]

*But she didn't, and he was hurt. All of it her fault. She deserved the pain*
