[Early in the evening on the 5th of May, you might come across a newcomer to the city. The young red-haired girl is sitting on her own on a bench, shoes still soaked from walking out of the Bay. She frowns a little bit, poking not at her communicator but at a pink smartphone, sighing after a moment and lowering it.]

It's no good, the Cure Line isn't working at all. [Another sigh and she leans back a little, looking up at the buildings around her.] What is this place anyway...?

[... And then there's a grumbling sound from her stomach and her expression falls even further into a grimace.]

And I'm staaarrving too....

[And there's Captain Hammer, standing magnificently in front of her with his fists punched into his hips. The breeze hits just right, tousling his brown hair as he smiles heroically.]

I'm Captain Hammer, guardian of this city. You must have just arrived. But I don't...see...your...necklace...

[She's going to need that.]

[Megumi jumps at the sudden booming voice right in front of her, sitting up ramrod straight. Where did he comes from?!]

G-Genessia? ... Guardian?

[Megumi's eyes widen a bit as that breeze blows through his hair, only adding to that incredibly heroic pose. She doesn't really get what he's talking about, but he sure looks impressive saying it!]

My necklace? [She blinks, "hmm'ing" as she thinks back.] I don't have one of those. I saw one in that box of stuff when I woke up but... I couldn't just take something like that. What if the owner came back looking for it?

I would hope she does! After all...you're the owner.

[MIND. BLOWN. ...Or maybe not, but he confides it in the same way he would tell someone they just won a new car.]

It's a gift we're given, so we can travel freely through the city. Make sure you've always got it on you!

[Well, her mind is blown a little bit. Mostly because when he says it like that it sounds extra exciting. She nods quickly.]

Okay, then I'll go back and get it right away!

[And then she smiles, laughing a little guiltily.]

Actually, I felt a little sad about leaving it behind anyway. It was really pretty.


[She... may be losing sight of the big picture here.]

[Captain Hammer expects all teenagers to be kind of dumb anyway, so it's not like she's letting him down.]

[It's not that heroic, not like saving a kitten in a tree, but doing good deeds is what being a hero is all about. And tormenting nerdy villains, of course. He ducks into the Bay, sloshing through the shallow water until he finds the box sitting neatly on the top of a closed pod. That'll be it, then. Hammer scoops up the box and returns to Megumi.]

There you are. Make sure to hang onto it now.

Eh? But, wait-- [she's up in pursuit when he turns and starts off toward the Bay, but it's too late and before she can catch up.] ... my feet are already wet anyway, so....

[Oh well, if he wants to do a good deed for somebody who is she to argue? And it is really nice of him to go get her things for her. So she waits at the entrance to the Bay and accepts the box with both hands. She smiles up at him with all the genuine gratitude in the world.]

Thank you very much! I'm Megumi Aino, by the way. I forgot to introduce myself before....

[He sticks out a gloved hand to shake hers. She's a cute enough kid, pleasant without being obnoxious.]

Well, you've probably got a lot on your mind, what with being dropped into a new city and all. You need any help getting adjusted?

[Jaune and Ruby would make a decent welcoming committee, they're both about her age, he's guessing.]

[Megumi shifts the box to one hand to reach out to accept the handshake with what she can only assume is the correct amount of enthusiasm when shaking hands with a superhero!]

A little bit. [It's actually not the weirdest turn her life has taken recently.] Actually, I've never heard of a city called Genessia. Is it far from Pikarigaoka?

[He can't even pronounce that. Stop it.]

Yeah, probably.

[He sure hasn't heard of whatever weird weeaboo world that happens to be.]

Let me call up Ruby and Jaune. If one of them is around, they can give you a tour and some background information.

[It's easy though and she just said it.]

[Her expression falls just a bit when Hammer confirms that she's somewhere far away from home. That wasn't good at all. As exciting as it was to explore new places, she'd never been away from home before and especially not on her own.

Poor Hime must already be frantic, and mom....]

A tour might be fun, but... I really can't stay here very long. Do you know if there's a way I could get back home?

[She couldn't even contact Blue to use one of those mirrors. What was she going to do?]

[He holds up his hands as if to exemplify the awesome that has been caged in this city.

[Well the newcomer is lucky! (or perhaps unlucky) because Kodachi Kuno just so happens to be making a pass through the city on the way to.. Somewhere. She's adorn in a frilled, yellow dress and carrying a matching color umbrella to protect her from the sun. In her free arm is a picnic basket!

She's hasn't drugged this food, for a special reason today.

Kodachi walks past the redhead at first, hears the growling, then walks right back.]

Oh? Poor dear, are you hungry?

Never too late!

[For now, Megumi has settled for slouching on her bench in a quagmire of misery and hunger. At least until the stranger passing by speaks up. Quick as a flash, Megumi sits up, eyeing that picnic basket before grinning sheepishly.

Her stomach must have been grumbling awfully loud.]

Eh... heheh. A little bit, yeah.

Well aren't you a cutie~. Today is your lucky day, I just so happen to be giving out samples for a new restaurant that is opening. In fact, it is the very best restaurant in all of Genessia!

[Kodachi gives Megumi a slight bow, then holds out her umbrella.]

[The "cutie" comment gets a blink and a curious headtilt from her... but that's quickly forgotten when the next most important thing is brought up.

Samples? And not just any samples but samples from the BEST restaurant in the whole city? Wow, sign her up!]

Really? [Her eyes light up with excitement and she's up on her feet, happily taking the umbrella to hold while Kodachi sets out her wares.] What kind of delicacies?

Why yes, really! Mind, it is still new, but word spreads quickly once enough people have tried it. So..

My only request is once you've tried this food and find it to your liking, that you tell as many people as possible to come, agreed?

[As if to bribe the poor girl even further, she raises the blanket tucked in the basket to reveal a selection of delicious looking sandwiches, soups, onigiri, pudding, and fruit dishes!]

Wonderful; I'm glad we could reach an agreement! Now, let's see.. Of sandwiches, I have roast turkey and swiss with fresh cole slaw, grilled chicken and cheddar with basil and tomato, and ham and chedder with home made ceasar dressing.

For onigiri I have plain, sweet potato, and dongo pork; of soups I have tomato, miso, and french onion; the fruits cups are simply chopped fruit~ and the puddings are chocolate and vanilla.

Seeing as you appear to be quite hungry, feel free to take any four~.

[She just keeps getting surprised today! But after her conversation with Hammer, she's a little preoccupied. She recovers quickly though, turning to face Ruby when she arrives.]

No, actually, it's my phone. [Which she demonstrates by holding the object up to show Ruby.] It's a... nickname!

[And it literally isn't very long before she shows up in burst of speed with a small trail of rose petals following along behind her.]

[And the surprises just keep on coming today! She jumps again as Ruby suddenly appears in a whoosh of wind and rose petals, and she just ends up staring wide-eyed as they drift down to the ground.]

Whoah--! That was so cool! How'd you do that?

[Ruby stops mid-sentence to think about if this girl really needs the whole run down on how her abilities work. She decides it might be better to give her the abridged version of it.]
