Operation 16 | [Video]

[It's the middle of the night that Gale would wake to the sound of a certain egg cracking. Since it was nestled in the bed, he was quick to get up out of it to watch that egg carefully to see what horrors came out of it... and, well... maybe "horror" wasn't the right word.

It wouldn't be long before Gale would turn the video and facing his mussed up bed, showing the network where there was now a fluffy, somewhat electrified sheep standing.]

Let it be known that, apparently, cyborgs dream of electric sheep.

[As he says this, the little sheep lets out a triumphant sounding "Maaaa!"]

In other news, what the hell is that thing and why did a sheep hatch out of an egg?!

[A young girl appears on the screen. It looks like she had just woke up from a night's sleep. Bed head reigns supreme in her long, blonde hair. She had her hand up, and a yellow mosquito-shaped bug sits in the palm.]

"Your egg hatched too? This tiny thing hatched from an egg too large for this to make sense."

[That sheep is a cutie though.]

That's... an odd looking bug.

[He can't even begin to express his confusion over everything. This situation is... weird.]

So you got that little bug thing, I got- [He glances over again, squinting his eyes slightly.] -a sheep, and I can only assume your egg was the same size as the one I had.

I have several questions and I feel like all of them would go unanswered.

[It's a sheep! From an egg! What has science done?!]

"It probably was."

[She has no idea what she's saying. She's just busy straightening out her hair while the bug just hovers off camera in front of her Sylveon like they were interacting in some silent language.]

"These creatures do seem intelligent, though. My Sylveon was very quick to accept this bug for some reason."

Well, at least that makes me confident that it won't try to eat me.

[Because that would be embarassing. Getting eaten by an adorable and fluffy sheep.]

... wait, what's a Sylveon?

[Scratch that, he's not confident he won't get murdered by a sheep in his sleep yet.]

"Oh, this is a Sylveon."

[With a little smile, Anastasia pans the camera over to the most tooth-achingly adorable thing ever.]

[He stares at it for a bit, and yeah, he almost can feel one of his teeth aching.]

That thing is... way too adorable for its own good.

"Right? And it's playful, too."

[Sylveon had jumped on the bed behind Anastasia. The Pokémon brought it's feelers around to gently smoosh the girl's face. She quickly shook herself free.]

"Lay down, Sylvie."

[Wow, that whole scene is too cute for its own good.]

And you said it got along with the little bug quickly?

[He scratches his head.]

Do you think your... 'Sylveon' is just real friendly in general, or maybe they came from the same place?

[And he's just pulling that other idea out of thin air. He has no idea if these things got brought here the same way everyone else was.]

[Now Sylveon comes around to snuggle with Anastasia, giving off such a bright, fang-y smile.]

"Mn-- I think it may be both. I know the former is true, since Sylveon will pretty much boop anyone on the nose. ... She will likely even boop you on the nose."

She best be careful. I might boop back.

[Speaking of booping, the Mareep will hop over and nudge its nose against Gale's leg, letting out a happy "Reep!"]

Seems like the little sheep might do the same thing. [Which is cute, but after noticing Mareep's electric nature from the get-go, he's a little tense at the moment.

But regardless of whether he was on edge or not, he pointed the camera to Mareep.]

Say hi, little sheep?

[The Mareep tilts its head, before giving another happy "Maaa!"]

[Anastasia couldn't help but smile brightly at the wooly bundle of fluff.]

"Aww, hi there, cutie. My name is Anastasia~"

[Sylveon rolled back onto its feet to try to get face-to-face with Mareep over the phone.]

[ Curious red eyes peered before a look of excitement was clear across Elesis' face. ]

It's kinda cute though...dunno how a sheep would hatch from an egg though.

Congratulations?

[Gale is now a father.]

[Don't tell him that. He's allergic to responsibility.]

I feel like the only thing that would be weirder than this is if it grew on a tree. ... which I hope doesn't actually happen somewhere.

[He scratches the back of his head.]

Not sure if congratulations are in order. I didn't exactly ask for it.

[But the sheep gives out a loving "Maaa!" at him in response this time.]

[Elesis grinned mischievously after he was bahed at.]

Seems like you were adopted instead by the looks of it.

[He's a little concerned by it because of its zappy-looking nature, but that's because his body and certain forms of electricity don't go well together. At least it seems harmless enough.]

No kidding. I'm not too sure how the dogs are gonna like it though.

[Although Gunner seems to love everything and Ivy doesn't care about most anything, so maybe it's fine.]

It's a Pokemon. All Pokemon come from eggs.

[ She has a bunch of them so she's willing to answer. She doesn't have a sheep though. Weiss seems to have some kind of a blue monkey in her lap and in the background there's a dopey-looking Slowpoke in the back just staring at a wall..She started with the Panpour this time but the Slowpoke.. won't leave her alone... ]

[He looks to the device, then at the Mareep, then back and forth.]

This is one of those "Pokemon" things? [He'd only seen a couple people with them before, so he'd never thought he'd end up with them.] So I'm hoping it's safe to assume that it's not about to get violent?

[He hopes not. It's too cute.]

Pokemon are creatures, not things, and they won't get violent toward you unless you give them a reason to be. That one probably recognizes you as its master, though, so it should only start fighting if you choose to train it by fighting against others.

[Well, knowing that was a relief. It at least means he doesn't need to have his guard up. His body and electricity don't always get along.]

People fight with them? [He quirks an eyebrow.] All the Pokemon I've seen up to this point have been too adorable. Making them fight almost seems... wrong, somehow.

[He's very confused by that. But he's very confused about a lot of things at this very moment.]

Obviously you don't force them to fight, but most of them see it as a form of exercise. But there are counterexamples. I have a Smoochum who prefers to stay home all day and helps me sleep at night, but I don't put Smoochum in my party because it's not very interested in fighting. However, Charizard is level 100 because he's not only my oldest Pokemon partner, but he's also very enthusiastic about training and developing his skills. And tea, but that's more of a learned habit.

[ A beat. ] Besides, appearances can be quite deceiving. [ She points at her own face. ] What would you expect me to be if you hadn't never spoken to or heard anything about me?

[Yukiko had most certainly woken up to a little surprise of her own in the form of what appeared to be a red and black fox thing.. To say it startled her was really an understatement.]

Pokemon seem to come from eggs... Not quite sure how reproduction actually works with them, but I guess now I know... I think.

Y'know, judging from how these things look, I feel like that's a question I'd rather not get an answer to.

[He may be messed up, but that's certainly not something he wants to think about. It makes him feel weird and uncomfortable.]

You mean because they aren't like chickens?

[Seems like the right question to ask here.]

That, uh. Yeah. I'm used to critters like birds and fish laying eggs, not... sheep.

[And with the other Pokemon he's seen others with in the past, it's more than just sheep he's got questions about.]

The main question I'm wonderin' is if Pokemon showing up here is a normal thing in this place.

Yeah it's odd, but... I guess pokemon come from eggs regardless of what it is.

[She had never bred them before, so she never had a clue herself.]

Also yes, it seems to be a near yearly thing I noticed. I say that having been here for two years plus now.

I don't see why you couldn't. It seems friendly enough, assuming it doesn't accidentally zap anyone.

I mean, I'm just guessing that it's a thing that it could do? Electric things seems to be very static-y.

Th-Thistle had lots of sheep at home. Th-They're... They're really cute.
