Mission 003 [Video]
[As the video feed starts, you can see in a bedroom from K&H Homes where Tony is now stroking on a purple bat creature's head, much to the creature's delight. And as you can see the egg shards on the floor, you can easily guess that it came from the egg he just got. Of course, his baby talk to the creature says it all to his reaction to it.]
Oh, Tony-whony is gonna love ya, love ya, love ya!
[The young Noibat just cried happily that his new owner likes him that much. However, he quickly stops once he realized that he was recording.]
AAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!! I didn't know this was on! U-Um... Please pretend you didn't saw that...
[However, the video wasn't accidental as his expression turned into annoyance once he speaks.]
So, yeah. I know about the egg thing and this bat just hatched out of it.
I like him so far, but I have just one little complaint...
[He then leaves the scene for just a moment, only to come back to show a flat fish-like creature with a somehow dim look on it's face.]
Why do that egg have to give me this dumb-looking fish as well?!
[However, the Pokemon became offended at Tony's words before he quickly tackled him to the ground, much to his Noibat's worry.]
Oww...

Re: [Video] --> [Action]
[It was totally a kiss, Tony. There's no denying it.]
Oh, I wouldn't say that. Little happens without reason. [Granted, pokemon could act up and be silly at times, but to the point of electrocution? Mere jest would be a stretch.]
Ah, then it's been paralyzed! Very common defense, especially with electric types like "that brown fish." [Tony must not have liked it much to not even refer to it by name. Regardless, Ted grips the yellow bottle, gently brings it up to Noibat, and gives it a spritz.]
There you go, Noibat. Ought to be feeling right as rain, if our diagnosis is right. [He tilted the bottle and showed it to Tony.]
A..."paralyze heal". No mystery in its function, eh? Suppose you'll want a good amount of them if you forsee this sort of thing in the future. [He offered Noibat an apple--a treat the PokeBit told him it liked--and went over to the flat fish lying on the bed.]
Stunfisk, care to explain yourself? Not a territorial dispute, I hope.
[Action]
As for Noibat, he quickly screeched in pain once Ted gave a little spritz of the potion, yet after that, he realizes that his numbness of his body is gone, which he screeched on joy as Tony watches.]
Wow, it works! Thanks, Ted! Noibat feels much better!
Re: [Action]
You're very welcome, Tony, though I fear we're not out of the woods yet. There's another wound to heal that'll require more mystic medicine.
[He becomes just a bit more solemn while snapping on a pair of rubber gloves; always 'handy' to have when dealing with the Electric brood. He tries to stroke Stunfisk and talk gently to him.]
Now Stunfisk, don't you think you've been a little uncouth? Noibat is family, after all. Did you not both (somehow) emerge from the same egg? Don't you think more fraternity is in order?
Re: [Action]
[He then looks at his Noibat, revealing a scar on one of his wings. It doesn't look serious, but he became worried at the sight of it.]
Oh. What kind of "mystic" medicine do you have there then?
[As for Stunfisk, he just looked at the strange in a bored look as he strokes him until he tries to shock him, but to his surprise, the rubber glove made him unaffected from his electric attack.]
Ha! Not so tough with rubber, isn't it?
[Bad choice of words, Tony. You just got yourself another "shock" of the lifetime.]
Re: [Action]
[Ted jerks his head at Tony's taunt, only to find Stunfisk quicker in exacting retribution. Experience is a hard teacher.
While Ted's confident pokemon rarely, if ever, mean serious injury to their owners, he rushes to Tony's aid anyway. He'll simultaneously try to calm a no doubt protective Noibat, not wishing to ignite the same conflict all over again.]
"Tony! Are you all right? Silly question, but you know what I mean." [He'll have to get him an entire rubber suit at this rate. One he's sure of Tony's health, he'll get down to the root of the problem.]
"You see how readily pokemon respond to challenges of their might. Choose your words carefully, all right? Let's talk a little less, and think a little more."
[He does just that, attempting to enact a thoughtful silence. It doesn't take long for him to find a very probable answer. He just needs one more piece to complete the puzzle.]
"Answer as honestly as you can. The broadcast you made minutes ago--was that your first interaction with them? Your pokemon, I mean."
Re: [Action]
[Right now, he hates that Ted is right regarding his poor choice of words. Then again, he isn't the type to think first, say it later kid.
As he recovers from another electric shock, he then wonders about his video feed he made earlier.]
I think so... When they hatched, I've kind of got excited when I see Noibat hatched there. Although I can't say the same with that du- I mean, Stunfisk.
[He didn't want to say its name, but he didn't want another electricity run into his body.]
I tried to start off the broadcast in a normal matter, but I can't help it when this bat looks at me with those eyes.
[He said it without any sarcasm or hostility. He can admit that Noibat's cute eyes can be very hypnotizing for Tony as he really wishes to have a pet for a while.]
Re: [Action]
"Aha! I think I see the problem."
[He cleared his throat. Elation over a solution became eclipsed with the sad tale he's about to unfurl.]
"Tony, put yourself in Stunfisk's...fins. After a period of slumber, you emerge conscious and fully formed, in a strange and unfamiliar world. There are but two souls present: your sibling, one who was with you from the deepest fathoms of life. The other is your trainer, who will come to wield an unprecedented amount of power over your destiny. A vast and uncertain future unfolds in all directions. What happens next will color and set the tone for the rest of your life.
Then! Two tragedies occur; a one-two punch to the heart that sends you reeling. First, your sibling is lavished with attention and affection. Well, that is not so terrible. Someone has to come first, in the sequence of things. You like your sibling well enough, and can see why your trainer would be so charmed. No doubt your turn for love will fast approach.
Alas! 'Tis not so. The moment your turn comes; the very instant your existence is acknowledged from the one whose role is to guide and care for you, this is what you hear: an insult. It is not a joke; there's no mirth in it. It is not a chastisement, for you've had no chance to do anything wrong or right. From the very, very beginning, you're laid low. Your sibling gets everything, you get nothing.
Like all intelligent creatures, you yearn for love. Yet you are denied moments after you are born in favor of another, all for qualities neither could help. The seeds of jealousy and discord are sewn. You will probably think, then, that there's no reason to behave. Why appease your master when he's despised you from the word 'go'? If he thinks you're a brute already, why not live down to his sorry expectations? What do you have to lose?
How would that make you feel?"
Re: [Action]
Re: [Action]
wait, shocking! That's it! Clearly this is a delayed effect from Stunfisk's zap! In that case, a few more sprays ought to do the trick.]
*spritz spritz*
Re: [Action]
But once he sprayed it with the Paralyze Heal, Tony's first reaction would be him screaming in pain.]
Knock it off! I'm fine already!
Re: [Action]
[One day he'll master the art of speaking plainly and tone it down for the Tonster.]
Re: [Action]
[It is not a lie as well, considering his attention span in his age.]
Re: [Action]
"Sorry, let me try again...
Tony, when that egg hatched, you became a pokemon trainer. That means that whoever comes out is your responsibility; you are now the most important person in their life. Like a pet.
But they're not just any pet. They're very smart; they know everything you say. The problem, is...you said the wrong thing at the worst time.
You know how important first impressions are, right? With Noibat, you made a very good one. You were loving and kind, as you should be. But with Stunfisk, the first thing you said was cruel.
I mean, imagine if you were a...twin, say, and you and your twin were born at the same time. Let's say you also understood everything your father said. What if he said something like "Tony's twin brother is wonderful! Too bad that dumb-looking Tony had to come with him!"
You'd feel awful, wouldn't you? Your twin brother would be loved and you wouldn't, all because of the way you looked! That wouldn't be fair, right? It's not your fault you look the way you do. Oh, and I think he actually looks very charming, in a comic way.
Er, anyway. The point is, Tony, that you made a very bad impression. Stunfisk probably thinks you don't like him, and all before he had a chance to do anything! No wonder he just wants to lie on the bed and zap you; maybe he's given up! Maybe he thinks it doesn't matter what he does since you loved Noibat instead of him right from the start. If I were Stunfisk I would've cried!
[Little personal there, Ted.]
What I'm trying to say, Tony, is that these animals depend on you. For everything. Training, guidance, discipline. But especially love. And you didn't give it to Stunfisk when he needed it the most; right when he was born. Do you understand?
Re: [Action]
Okay... Maybe I was a little too harsh on Stunfisk.
I understand...
[He is reluctant to just ask for apology to an ugly fish like him, but with Ted lecturing him, he knew that apologizing to it should be a good option.]
Look, I'm sorry that I said insults to you a-
[However, Stunfisk just quickly shocks him once more, laughing at his misery. Looks like he's just doing it for his own personal fun as he sees his trainer fell down, this time, paralyzed for real as his Noibat looked on in shock.]
Re: [Action]
[Ugly inside and out, huh? Darn, Ted was afraid of that. Not the wounded innocent he'd spent time building up, but a brat with a mean streak. One of life's hard lessons that Tony's learning the hard way. Still, he'd rather Tony not give up. Dealing with adversity builds character! He'll try and lift his spirits once he's been revived the usual way. Better stock up on more Paralyze Heals...]
"While Stunfisk didn't appreciate that, I certainly did. 'Twas very fine and manly, Tony, to own up to your wrongdoing like that. Keep that up and you'll make a great trainer. But every trainer needs supplies; how about we go and get some? My treat. Noibat, since he (or she)'s behaved so well, can have an outing, while one of mine watches Stunfisk and makes sure no more trouble arises. How does that sound?"
[Ted's four pokemon from the last time they came are all very seasoned, and 3/4 of them are Grass, which could deal with Stunfisk exceptionally well. If he acts up they're more than willing to administer tough love. He'd try his hand at disciplining Stunfisk himself, but that's ultimately Tony's solemn duty. Hopefully the Center has a few books or something on how to deal with misbehavior.]
Re: [Action]
Sighing, he stands up after a short shock while Ted suggests about his supplies.]
Good idea. I might need more than items to take care of my new friends.
[As for Noibat, he screeches in gratitude to Ted since Tony is been so nice to him, that he's very not like Stunfisk in terms of personality. As for Stunfisk, he just stays on Tony's bed as he still snickers in a mischievous manner.]
Re: [Action] Good place to end?
"All right, Cactuar, your job for today is making sure a certain ill-behaved scoundrel doesn't do any worse. Be rough if you must, but mind the room. We'll be back soon, and thank you."
[True to his word, Ted's happy to buy whatever looks handy for raising the brutes. Pokeballs are the first order of the day; that way if Stunfisk acts up he can be confined and 'sent to his room', or something like that. Plus it's just convenient for transport. He's sure to leave Tony with some rubber gloves of his own, for obvious reasons. Once the shopping trip's over, he bids Tony adieu and wishes him good luck.]
"As always, call me if you think you can make use of me. Believe me, I know what it's like to wrangle the ornery. Gengar wasn't built in a day!"
[Action] Yeah, good idea.
When their shopping trip is done, Tony is back at K&H Homes as he listened to Ted's advice.]
Sure, I'll do that. Besides, I won't be alone with Noibat around. And I'll make sure I'll show Stunfisk the meaning of discipline.
[With that, he waved goodbye to Ted as his new life with his Pokemon begins.]
