Uhm... I admit, I was not expecting these creatures to come out of the eggs everyone received.

[ On camera, both on top of a large, sleeping Ash the dog, there are two small pokémon; Squirtle and Chimchar, a blue turtle and a fire monkey. Both seem to be napping contently for the moment, causing Adela to look back and rub the back of her neck as she looks over the two red and white balls before lifting them to the camera. ]

It seems that they can fit in these with no ill effect somehow... I have heard over the networks that they are called Pokémon, but why would one carry them around like this?

... I suppose it is pointless to ask why they are here, considering that it seems to be an effect of this place. They are certainly energetic at least.

[ A pause, and she sighs before looking back to her bedroom door. ]

Also, if anyone knows where we can look into finding some housing, please let Smoker, Miss Tashigi, or myself know. It seems we will need the extra space quite soon.

She can't help yelping when the ball hits her head (and that's still being recorded on video, Smoker!), both hands rubbing the now sore spot before she looks over her shoulder at him. Smoker, what the heck.

It also succeeds in startling her dog and both her pokémon awake, looking around to see wha's going on. ]

Why did you feel the need to test that, Smoker?!

[ Also that really hurt. 8< ]

[ That still doesn't prepare her for feeling safe at home only to have you throw a small hard metal/plastic/whatever-it-is ball at her head, Smoker! She has a goose-egg now...

But, she does blink at that comment, unable to help flushing a little before she shakes her head. ]

Just what in the world is that supposed to mean...?

Then whenever it was dangerous I could say, "Adela! Back in the ball!" and run off with you.

... I am not a pokémon, Smoker.

[ She can't help giving him a flat look before lifting her phone up. ]

I also did not have a chance to turn this off while you threw the pokéball at me.

Yeah, that's fine.

Tell Portgas he's one of my Pokemon. [Why do you put up with them, Adela?]

You could attempt to tell him yourself, but I have the oddest feeling that he would not allow himself to be tamed as easily as that.

Pokemon aren't tame. They're friends that like fighting.

Well, he is even less tame than they are. Or more wild, more aptly put.

If it did not work with me, what makes you think such a thing would work on him?

He's definitely one of my pokemon.

I think I already can imagine what his reaction would be. Namely, resistance and fighting with you over it. Likely with some curse words thrown in.

Or maybe he'd only pretend to be like that for your sake.

If he was pretending, I doubt it would be for my sake.

[ She gives Smoker a flat look then. She's pretty damn sure she knows better after all. ]

[... Tsun blushes and drums his fingers on a table.]

I'm gonna catch him in a pokeball. [Puts his sunglasses on.] Just you watch.

[ She chuckles, shaking her head at him. ]

If you have some time away from that, I have heard that there is a scavenger hunt in the city. Perhaps you would join me?

[justicereigns]

Sure! [... Did that sound too eager?]

[ Cute. She knows she has to pretend she's dragging him though. With a grin she gets to her feet, whistling briefly to get the attention of Ash and the two pokémon.

Chimchar is the first to move, immediately making to perch himself on her shoulder. Squirtle seems content to go back to his ball for the time being, and Ash stands to stretch before jumping down from the bed. ]

Let us be off then! We should not waste too much time, else we risk losing out on the competition entirely.

No good losing. [Grunt!]

[Gets ready to go, and is practically about to run out the door.]

[ Adela allows herself a brief chuckle before following Smoker, Ash rushing down after her and her Chimchar hanging on. And now their pokémon adventure can begin! ]]

I never understood about the whole pokeball thing. But yet they seem weirdly comfortable in them and never seem to mind.

So it makes one wonder.

[What is life like in a pokeball? The world may never know.]

Well, so long as they are comfortable. I think I prefer seeing them out of their balls, though.

Apparently there is also going to be a scavenger hunt here in Genessia City if you care to join Smoker and I, Yugi. It looks like it will be fun, and it will be an opportunity to train and catch more pokémon here as well.

I never put mine in there unless I absolutely have to, which is extremely rare.

It could be fun, but I'm not sure if I will have enough free time to really be of help. Since Atem's gone I have to go back to running both game shops.

... I suppose closing them for the day would not be an option, would it?

[ She tries to smile weakly for Yugi, though at once she can't help thinking that she misses Atem -- and that Yugi must miss him terribly as well. ]

If you need help, you need only to ask all right Yugi?

It is an option for one day, but they I would be checking stock and such. I have like a good few hours a day when I am not working. I should maybe try and take a break though.

[He knew what he was doing, he had done it before if things were bothering him and he honestly knew a lot was still bothering him.]

I know and I need to learn to ask for help, but sometimes I know people have issues of their own and would rather help them.

They're certainly odd little creatures. I've been letting mine roam. Being trapped in those devices seems awfully cruel.

[Although she can understand that it makes transporting them much easier. In addition, a small bell-like Pokémon hovers up over Kaguya's shoulder, making little chiming sounds.]

They were a most pleasant surprise, no?

I suppose that is one word for it. They are cute, and that they do not seem to mind the pokéballs makes me think that they might not be as cruel as one would initially think.

It is still inconvenient as it means we need more living space, at least in my instance.

I have to say I know the feeling. My apartment is beginning to feel rather cramped.

[Perhaps it'll be slightly less so once she moves all the bonsai out.]

They come in quite a variety of shapes and sizes, don't they?
