[Audio] [Arrival - Looking for Answers]
[There was, Ignis couldn't help but think, little reason to trust anything that his welcoming materials or the welcoming hologram had told him. That he didn't have any reason not to trust them either was a null point. He had woken up in a strange place, alone, his head much less clear than he would have preferred.
He had since added a number of brochures to his scant new pile of belongings, flipping through the maps and failing to find any hint of familiarity. The hologram had named the world as Genessia, and if this wasn't an exceptionally thorough trick... Then things were as bad as they seemed.
His phone had been in his pocket when he checked. It had even had power, though no reception. When, after a time, no one else had appeared in the welcome area he started out.
Once outside it hadn't taken much wandering to find a bench. There he sat, mulling over the entire situation in his head. Panic in this situation wasn't useful, so he pushed up his glasses and got out the communicator that he'd been given.
Of the options available for it, audio seemed the safest at the time.
He takes a deep breath, and follows the instructions that had been laid out, holding the speaker towards his mouth.]
My name is Ignis Scientia, and I appear to be Genessia's newest abductee.
I was travelling with my friends before I woke up here, though I have no way of telling if they are here as well.
[He pauses for a moment, hesitating, but decides that, having given his own name there is no further harm that can come of identifying the others.]
Their names are Noctis, Prompto and Gladiolus. Any information would be appreciated. I can, if necessary, pay. Likewise, if any of you can hear this, please contact me.
On another note, the -
[Again a pause, as he works to remember the word.]
- hologram? Mentioned that there were others here who have been working to make their way home. Regardless of whether or not my friends are here, we will need a way home and I will provide any assistance I can in this process. Our responsibilities there are urgent.
Thank you for listening.
[He lowers the phone to his lap, and watches the street as he waits.]

[He was getting some more practice at this, though he was still nervous as heck as he used his video. He wasn't the best at being a social butterfly.]
I-If you want to use video, th-there's a button here...
[He pointed at his device, though it wasn't a very good way to show him considering the video pointed out, so all Ignis would be able to see is that he was pointed in some general area at the device.]
I... I think I've heard of a N-Noctis...?
[He thought about it. They hadn't exactly hung out a ton, but he had met him that one time.
Prompto, on the other hand, had called him 'Nocto', which was definitely not a name he knew. He also hadn't given Bracken his name yet, so he didn't recognize it. Oops.]
Re: [Video]
If Noctis was there as well, they would absolutely need to find a way back. Gladiolus and Prompto would likely have been able to finish escorting him to do his duty, but if he was in Genessia too...
He takes a breath, his mind going into a dozen different directions. First things first.]
Bracken, hello.
[His voice is calm, the underlying urgency swallowed almost completely down. He knows diplomacy.]
Thank you, I did see that option in the manual. If it's not a problem for you, I'd rather keep to audio only for now. It's more familiar.
[There, the niceties were over with, and he looked own quickly at one of his maps.]
Do you know where I would be able to find him? I'm in Genessia City now, near the center. Even a direction would be incredibly helpful right now.
[He really didn't mind what Ignis wanted. His explanation had been more because he thought maybe someone new hadn't known how to do it than anything else, so he wasn't bothered at all.
He thought back to the time he met him even though it wasn't really useful.]
H-He was in Fayren. By the docks. B-But... That was ummm... weeks ago.
I-I could show you where it is.
Re: [Video]
If he was fishing, it was probably him.
[There was a chance, of course, that it wasn't. He wasn't going to make an assumption either way. He reaches for the maps with his free hand, trying to judge approximate distances, to find the best way there.]
Is that an area that you frequent?
[He moped a bit, because who liked being scolded? Even if Noctis hadn't been particularly mean to him or anything.]
Re: [Video]
Have you only seen him the once?
[He's still looking at the maps, but only just. Satisfied, finally, he gets everything together one-handed and stands, looking around to verify where he was, and starting in what, from what he'd seen, was the right direction.]
I apologize for all the questions. I believe I'm headed in the direction of Fayren now.
[He hadn't realized it would be important to know later on. Maybe he should have had more foresight.]
F-Fayren is the pretty city with l-lots of trees and nice inns and and 'pubs'. Th-The only other city that looks like it i-is Everglade, but... but don't go there. Th-They're allowed to eat people there and i-it's scary.
Re: [Video]
I must have missed the brochures that mentioned the sanctioning of cannibalism.
[He starts moving again, his steps just a hair faster. However pleasant Bracken seemed, his overall opinion of Genessia was dropping, quickly.]
Thank you for the warning. Is there anything else I should be aware of along those lines?
[It was a bunch of tl:dr to him.]
I-It's the only city that a-allows that, though. So if you stay away, y-you should be okay. G-Genessia and Nova City are b-big and loud, but they're okay. I... I don't know much about A-Attleton. I only went there once. I-I mostly know Fayren...
Re: [Video]
[He is still bothered by the fact that it's allowed anywhere, but he doubts it's Bracken's decision so he isn't going to push it.]
I don't want to take up any more of your time, but I want to thank you again for all of your help. If I run into any issues navigating once I'm in Fayren, may I contact you again?
[Really, he was just glad to hear he'd been of help. It really made him feel better, since he always felt pretty insecure about how he was doing, and it always felt like other people would be better at helping than him.
Basically living where he worked made it pretty easy to do things on his own schedule, too., so it was never much of a bother. He nodded his consent readily, willing and happy to help.]
I-I know where most stuff is here now, s-so just ask if you need help.

Re: voice;
[The idea of missing something else irks him. He balances the communicator experimentally between his ear and shoulder, craning to thumb through and look for the device paperwork again.
Was he really being this sloppy?]
voice;
[The device before was slightly different, but most of the things worked in similar ways.]
[Audio]
So you want to be the one with the skills to get us all home, hmm? Heard that's quite the task you've set yourself up for, mister. No one's come close to getting home yet.
Re: [Audio]
You misunderstand my intentions, I'm by no means looking for a chance to play hero. I wanted to know what information had been discovered, and over any assistance I can. Whatever that may be.
[As pessimistic as the update is though, it's something. It's information.]
Have you been one of the people looking into it?
[Audio]
*At least, not that she was aware of. She was still relatively new, after all*
Me?
*She scoffs, but it's quiet - it's against herself more than it is him*
That doesn't happen to be my area of expertise.
( audio )
( so eloquent, isn't he? there's a pause, as he pushes himself to add more. there's a lot he wants to say, how happy he is to hear ignis' voice again but...
well.
he never was great at these sorts of things. and so, he continues, stumbling a little awkwardly over his words— ) Well, been here awhile actually but that's probably where things get complicated. I guess it's asking too much for the Regalia to have come with you, huh? Heh...
You're... okay? ( right? )
Re: ( audio )
Only what was on my person, unfortunately. I'm on foot right now. I'd heard from someone here that they had met with you a few weeks ago. I can't say that adds up to the timeline I have, but I have no way of knowing how long I was unconscious.
[He sounds uncomfortable with that idea, but he smiles briefly when he moves on.]
I'm fine. I heard that you were in...Fayren I believe, and I'm headed that way now. Is that right? Moreso -- you're the one who's been here longer. Are you alright?
no subject
but as he goes on, his tone lowers. being unable to see ignis brings with it a burning guilt, especially with the implications of what he has to say. ) This place— it gets weird when it comes to people showing up. Luna's here too, and now Prompto. Even... dad.
( he's okay because... everyone else is okay, here, in genessia. )
