Action - Disgruntled Worker Bounty - Public (in Genessia City)

[ Mariko's been keeping to herself ever since she arrived here, only talking to Konoka, Dante, and a few others she recognizes in her previous time here. She took this bounty just for the extra money and for the thrill of investigating she couldn't get at the Holodeck. She didn't expect this to escalate so soon, as the target of her bounty is apparently found by a local crime group and is protected by them. A shoot-out ensue when the guards of the disgruntled employee sensed that Mariko is on their tail, rendering a small block of street into a danger zone. Armed with rifles and live combat training, they manage to make this tough even for a superhuman like Mariko.

She could just use her magic to make this easy, but there's too many people in these buildings and she doesn't have enough money to cover the property damage she'd cause. Feigning a retreat, Mariko covers herself with a barrage of shots from her magical rifle. Bright magic-circles flashing from the muzzle starts a symphony of gun fire that could be heard a few blocks away. Mariko starts running once she made a good distance, warning any soul she encounters ]

Run! Get out of here! Go!

[ Mariko demanded just as a stray bullet from a longer ranged rifle got her on the shoulder. Luckily bullets only give her some discomfort. It still hurts like hell, but not enough to put her out of commission just yet. Mariko gets knocked down, but she quickly recovers on her knees to fire back ]

Text - Post-Bounty - Public

[ Well that hunt should keep her snoopy curiosity down for a while. Now a little high on painkillers, Mariko realizes that she's been feeling particularly deprived on human contact. She feels like she's been here forever, and yet she only knows certain people who aren't always there to talk. So she takes a chance and makes her presence felt through the network again: ]

A little weird to ask out of the blue, but any of you here play video games? What are your favorites? Kinda been looking to play some new games, I need a break from my usual ones (ﾉ≧ڡ≦)

I play video games, you name it I probably have played it. My favorite though is Gala Omega, which is a game from my world.

Gala Omega? Never heard of that. What's it like? It probably exists where I'm from, just under a different name

It's one of the best games ever. It was made in 1981 and is kind of like space invaders is one had to compare it to something. based on the style for the most part.

[However it is a game based on a game called Galaga.]

Sweet. I do like me some Space Invaders. It's a total classic where I'm from. It's one of those games that never get old o(^∀^*)o

[ Mariko checks the name tag on the sender's message, seeing the name Chiaki Nanami on it. Mariko doesn't hide her name either, so at least they can skip the introductions ]

Where do you usually hang out in? Wanna meet up in person sometime?

I agree fully. It really never does, you could play it so many times and it's still enjoyable... even if you max out points.

I usually hang out in the Nova City Arcade where I work and play games.

Never heard of a Nova City Arcade. You mean Aphrodite's?

That is correct. I just call it Nova City Arcade because not quite sure what gaming has to do with the Goddess of Love.

Yeah, it's a weird mix. But that's what makes it stand out. I wouldn't find out about that place if it wasn't for that dating thing. I can drop by there today. What's a good time for you?

[ Because she's looking for "that dating thing" one day in the paper, and it just so happen to have an arcade. She's going to pretend she's looking for the arcade for this conversation ]

A good time... I guess 3:30 when I finish work sometimes.

[ "Pretty"? Mariko was taken by surprise by that comment so much she asked it out loud in public. Seeing people look at her from her sudden reaction, Mariko ignores it an fixes her focus back on Chiaki's text, looking at the attached image of Chiaki, and honestly she can say the same to the other girl. Not that she would. ]

Thanks. I like my hoodies. Mostly because they are comfortable and when shy or embarrassed they are a great way to cover your face.

[Plus she buys gaming styles ones way to often.]

And I just like them really. I mean we all have our style that we like because we do, right?

Kind of a little weird, but hey there are a bunch of gamers out there who do such things.

Sadly, not one of them as when I did it wasn't that often and was only like one game every few months.

What did you play then? Phone games?

I never played any games, even the ones on ones phone. Mom made sure of that. If I had free time I did other things. Only once could I play a game and that was from being at a sleep over once.

[ Mom? That gave Mariko a pause, quirking her brow while looking at Krista's reply. Must be one hell of a mom... ]

Right. Well. Is she here with you? Sounds like you had a tiger of a mom ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not right now though, but for all I know she could be watching me like a hawk still regardless.

Also not sure she is a tiger, she was definitely human, but I can tell that was a joke... Maybe.

Do you have a certain genre of game you prefer over others?

Single player RPGs are my favorite, and MMOs as long as I only play with my friends. Going online and meeting a lot of assholes who too hard to be edgy is such a buzzkill experience

[ Actually visual novels and dating sims are her favorite, even the raunchy versions. But that's a secret and Yugi doesn't have the clearance level for that info ]

[ Blame the painkillers making her so relaxed or just the fact that she just haven't had social interaction and someone to play games with in a while, but Mariko is a lot more excited today than any day. A rare opportunity ]
