[001] - [Video: Salutations]
[The video flickers on, enter one unimpressed but otherwise unphased looking Peter Quill. Bonafide human, blond, with a glint of metal behind his ear.]
Star-Lord here, don't guess we've got any Nova Corps around here, huh? I didn't think so.
[He runs a hand through his hair and smirks. When he finishes, tapping can be heard on the video like he's trying to drum out some old song on a piece of plastic.]
Fair warning to anyone out there, you see big green guy, a green chick who looks like she could kill you, or a small furry guy with a striking resemblance to a Terran raccoon in the right light and a propensity for guns bigger than him, watch your mouth and try not to do anything stupid. But let them know I'm around.
If you see a baby tree walking around though, for fuck's sake let me know and keep an eye on him.
[There's a smile, a little charming, a little smug. His eyes are just a bit less certain but hey - he knows he's got this, and he knows if his people are here they can take care of themselves.]
In the meantime though, anyone know where to get some decent grub around here?

[The face that appears certainly isn't human.]
Re: [Video]
Feels like a work in progress some days, but you've got it in one. We kind of go by 'Guardians of the Galaxy' if you've heard of us.
[He shrugs, but doesn't look at all expectant. Nope.]
Are you from around here, or another pod person?

I have not heard of the Nova Corps. Are they a military operation?
Re: [Video]
Yeah, they're pretty much the space-cops in my neck of the universe. To be honest I only really asked about them in case this was some kind of new, weird, space jail. And they kind of owe me one anyway.

[There's a familiar face. Rocket seems incredulous - he didn't honestly expect anyone else to show up here after finding out how random the selection process seems to be.]
When the hell did you get here?
[You might get the impression that Rocket is happy to see him. Because he is, even if he'd die sooner than admit it.]
no subject
Rocket? You're stuck here too, huh?
[His smile grows - not at Rocket's misfortune but the simple fact he won't be the only one he knows stuck there.]
I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

Is Star-Lord really your name?
[Her accent pleasantly curves the end of her words as she attempts to hide the smile that teases the corner of her lips. She has recently arrived as well though she's trying to make the best of her situation. Part of that is trying to meet those trapped here with her. It seems that this man has arrived just after she had. She can't offer much help though she does know the small area around the bay decently well.]
There are a few places from the center of the city. I haven't tried them yet but I think they're hard to miss if you keep your eyes open.
Re: Video
One of many.
[Technically true.]
Thanks, but I'm trying to find some actual recommendations so I don't add crappy food to this already pretty crappy day.

Meet the local terminator, or cyborg or whatever
Marcus eyes the stranger "I can't eat, but what are you looking for exactly in terms of food?"

Some variation of cooked meat on a bun is usually a good way to go.

[Annoyed? Yes. Nerd, no. Not as far as he's concerned. He takes in the mask on the screen with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.]
And at least I can show my face in public. What's your name?

I've meet the racoon. He's determined to scape this place, even after he's been informed it's not possible. Trees don't wall here, is that baby from Yavin IV? [Because weird things happen in that moon, such as some trees actually changing places.]
As for drinking, there's the Velvet Lust club in Genessia City. It's a nice place. [Also well know gay bar but it happens to be the only one Kay knows.]
Re: [Video]
[He smiles at that.]
We've already pulled off a pretty impossible stunt. 'Impossible' doesn't really mean the same thing to me'n Rocket, I guess. Never heard of a Yavin anything, but I don't know where Groot's from either so your guess is as good as mine there. Rocket might know more.
[It's the last part that makes his eyes light up.]
You don't say? I've got a feeling I might just have to pay that place a visit. K-2, you said your name was?

Sorry for the delay!
video;
[ They have a police force and a City Guardian Deputy team, of which she is City Guardian. She doesn't look particularly amused at the 'warning.' ]
I'd recommend letting your friends know that if they're the type of people you're supposed to watch yourself around, they should avoid trouble themselves. For every person who claims they're the strongest here, there are at least ten stronger, smarter, or more adaptable.
Re: video;
My friends are good people. Mostly. Excuse me for trying to make sure no one starts shit with them.
You want the real warnings? Green guy's Drax, he takes things literally. We're working on it. He's got the whole warrior's spirit thing going on and unless someone provokes him, or the guy who's responsible for his family being dead also got yanked here, he's not gonna be a problem.
The green lady's name is Gamora, and I'll be honest with you - she probably wouldn't care enough to do anything if you did say something stupid to her.
Rocket, well... Rocket doesn't like being treated as less than a person. But that whole resemblance thing I mentioned earlier's usually the first thing people see. Which is admittedly kind of impressive sometimes considering his gun.
[Were the descriptions a little optimistic? Yeah, maybe. He couldn't help getting a little defensive though.]
But yeah, sure, I'll tell Rocket to keep his head down. Rest of my friends I can't tell much on account of having been kidnapped and not having a damn clue where they are.
'scuse me for trying to make things a little easier for everyone.

[She doesn't know if she's amazed or annoyed.]
Re: Video
You mean the baby tree? Groot's not a pet and I've never even heard of whatever you're talking about.
And are you really asking me how I could end up losing track of my friend? Hi, woke up in some stupid pod after having been kidnapped. Excuse me, lady, but I think that's kind of obvious.
Frankly we're both lucky I can keep track of my pants right now.

If you're looking to join the military, you're out of luck. I don't think any of the cities have one of those here. There are police divisions, though I'm not sure if any of them are hiring.
[Then again, the way the guy is playing with plastic, maybe it's best if they aren't.]
I hear Nakiba over in Nova City has good food. I haven't been there myself [dietary restrictions and all that] but I can say for certain that Alice Nakiri knows what she's doing. She's a chef there.
Re: Video
[He smiles - but also socks away that information. Chance of no military, some police divisions apparently full stocked. Strong 'Maybe' on there since he had the say-so of one guy here.]
Nova City, huh? I'll look it up if I get over there. It's not that high on my to-visit list right now. Fairly menacing warning about causing trouble there from some guy who's definitely been military somewhere. So I figure I should at least get on my feet before trying that.
[He smirks, which obviously means that he's joking. Right?]
Video | Alice apparently dropped so don't go looking for her sorry!
Re: Video | No problem! Peter has heard tell of pizza and cheap beer somewhere :P

Welcome! Sorry for the inconvenience; I'm glad you've been reunited with at least one of your companions so soon. That's great fortune.
As for places to eat, a little to your west, on Nettle and 12th, there's Geraldi's Pizzeria. I'll be surprised if you couldn't smell the place; one of their devious advertising schemes is wafting their scents far into the public sphere.
If that's not to your taste, there's also the Bright Sky Diner on Ulmos and 9th. Bit further of a walk, but it's a fine, if a touch fattening, establishment. Those two are the best known eateries in Genessia City. Let me know if I can further assist you.
Re: [Video]
[His expression is only a little tired, but he just knows that Rocket would be laughing his ass off at all the failed attempts to get the name to actually stick here.]
Pizza and fattening both sound like really good options to me, thanks for the tip. You know I think I actually can smell that. Bastards are probably why I'm hungry right now in the first place.

As for seeing your friends around.. I assume they are your friends, I haven't seen anyone like that.

[Hey, the place had supermarkets. He tried very, very hard not to be too optimistic about the offerings.]
Yeah, my friends. Found one of them at least, from what I've heard it's a pretty good chance the others aren't here.

[Have a stifled snicker.]
You sound like a guy who keeps weirder company than even me, and that's saying quite a bit. As for grub, there's a great place that has New York style pizza and cheap booze in Attleton.
no subject
[He sounds challenging and is, as a matter of fact, regretting the name use. So he'd gotten a little spoiled for it. So what?]
Look, I haven't kept normal company since I was nine. Mind this is an especially odd example, but they're my friends. I will thank you for the recommendation - sounds perfect.
[It did, and he sighs, just a little apologetic for the snapping. It had been a long morning, okay?]
And if you've gotta know, Peter Quill works too. But you can't tell me you think that's an improvement.
