[Closed Bounty Log]
Who: Garrus, Ted & Cad Bane
What: Bounty hunting - Think Tank/Curtix
Where: Nova City
When: Soon after the newspaper is out
Cad Bane had found Genessia and the neighbouring cities to be a fine place to live with frequent bounties on offer and he'd been making a good living from it. Often he teamed up with his current room-mate Deadpool but he also was willing to go along with others, such as Cassian Andor most recently and when approached by Garrus and Ted for a team-up to take down one of these stray scientists then he'd made an arrangement. The stakes weren't nearly as high here, he thought, so he didn't screen his team-mates as well as he may have in the past. He'd keep an eye on them but if they messed up, that was on their own heads.
He headed to Nova City in order to meet up and to hopefully figure out a plan to seek out and capture the culprit who was apparently slicing people up with some sort of energy whip. It didn't sound like something he himself couldn't handle. The other two? Well, he'd have to see what they were made of.

He gathers his stuff and heads down from his apartment, thankful the elevators here were better than the ones on the citadel, and meets Bane a couple of blocks away, giving a nod of acknowledgement. "Any word from Ted yet?"

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. There's the blonde awaiting Garrus at the bottom of the elevator, brightly dressed with a mood to match. Why? Cause he gets to hang out with aliens today. Far out! That and bounty hunting was just plain more fun with friends, though that may have been a little generous in Bane's case. He usually went solo too, owing to a desire to make sure he alone would bear the consequences should things go wrong. But if they want to invite him to lend a hand, he couldn't say no.
Ted didn't look or, honestly, act like he knew what he was doing, but truth be told Nova City was more familiar to him than he let on. He's always had a passion for firearms, and this futurist mecca boasted the best of class. This wasn't even the first technologically advanced criminal he tango'd with, though it is the first time he's working with so many. What attracted him to this bounty was its sheer urgency. The paper made it sound like the havoc was going on right now, and couldn't wait for more than the hastiest provisions. Wouldn't stop Ted from trying to keep things light and being the life of their exotic party.
"Long time no see, eh? Our mark is an interesting one; I'd always thought of the scientific types as having a chilly and collected intellect. Yet this one has the mind of a child having a jaunt with a toy; as if he simply couldn't wait to show his creation to the world. A show-off! No casualties yet, I pray. Hopefully that bit about bisection-by-plasma was just...puffery."

There was an air of all business and no-nonsense about the Duros bounty hunter. He had an array of hidden gadgets in the gauntlets attached to his arms, along with the duel blasters visible in holsters at his sides. He easily had the firepower and tricks for a distraction, at the very least.

"The latest reports put him in the southeast sector of the city. He was active three minutes ago." So when he had last checked. "We don't know too much about his weapon, not being able to study it while he's attacking us, but we do know it's highly dangerous, especially in Curtix's hands.
"We have two options: kill the guy, or capture him. I'm partial to killing him myself, but Schnee prefers that to be a last resort kind of thing. In which case I can probably hack into his tech with my omni-tool if I can get close enough, but I'll need some cover."
But if they just want to shoot the guy dead he's totally down for that.

"Hah, well I can guess where Mr. Bane will stand: life. Won't get paid otherwise. I agree with him, though for less caddish motives. Besides, it's three on one. Might as well introduce some sport into it.
Not a bad tactic. Let's hope this tool of yours is as omnipotent as it sounds, for I find it very queer how a scientist, even armed as he is with such a fine whip, could have evaded capture by the ordinary authorities so long. Nova City is ruthlessly efficient in this sort of thing, and its robotic police force brings all sorts of armaments to bear. I should know; I own most of them. And yet, not one availed? Not one stunning phaser bolt found its mark? Clearly this man, somehow, defies all convention. Our approach will have to be a novel one. With that in mind, let me introduce someone."
He plucks a ball off his waist, clicks it open, and in a flash, Swoobat appears!
"Lovely thing, isn't she? Say hello to Swoobat, everyone. Her nose is as first-rate as her smile; should our criminal or his whip give off any unique scent, she'll trace it back to the source. Don't suppose any of you have the means to trace an energy signature? If so, put that to parallel purpose.
If there's nothing further to add, shall we three musketeers split up and scour the sector? Naturally, whoever finds him first will exhibit the utmost patience and wait for the rest of us to reconvene before engaging. Sharing is caring, after all."

"I can give you plenty of cover," he remarked to Garrus. He wasn't much for long, unnecessary speeches while on the job.
He also didn't seem overly impressed by the Swoobat but as long as it was useful and didn't get in the way, he wouldn't make any protest.
"Let's go then. Use our communication devices when we find him or if there's any trouble."

“I don’t know anything about its tech, otherwise I might be able to trace its signature.” His omni-tool can only do so much after all.
He gives a nod to Bane; it was good to have another sniper to watch his six. Looks like he’ll be maining his secondary for this mission.
“Keep your comms open in case you’re caught off guard. We’ll know something happened and be able to locate you.”

[OOC, will be rolling to see who meets the whip master first. And it's...Ted wouldn'tchaknow!]
[As intended, he's using a combination of nature and technology to sniff out their mark. He's got an energy scanner to detect any traces of plasma, while Swoobat is using her nose for the same purpose. Of course, he chatters on the comms. Multitasking!]
"I've been doing some research on our man Curtis. Well, 'man' in the sexual sense. His race is one of the Tetrageniots; they look human, with exception to the third eye on their foreheads. Supposed to give them unmatched depth perception and spatial awareness, making them natural snipers, among other things. Be on your guard; ah, the trail's getting hot! Swoobat keeps directing my eyes upwards towards...there! The Sky Garden! You know, those three large hovercraft that wander the city ceiling! This one looks to be the jungle biome. So that's where he's been doing his damage; goodness, I hope that plasma whip of his hasn't set the whole thing on fire, artificial though it may be. All right, I'm going up before the whole thing burns down. Get aboard a hovercraft as soon as you can and meet me there."
[Ted would use his own legs for transport. Thank goodness for life-fibers. He can't fly, but he can jump high enough. Back in the ball Swoobat goes as he makes his ascent. The ship experiences a hard thud as he makes his crash landing. Don't judge; jumping on a moving air-biome is harder than it looks! Now it's just a matter of clambering about the hull until he finds an entrance.
A large, rectangular opening with seared sides and sparking bits of wire. That looks like Curtis' work, all right. In he goes, landing in thick undergrowth in a jarring change of scenery from the technopolis from before. He has to hand it to Curtis; he knows how to pick the scene. The savage jungle lent a primitive, savage air to the proceedings. All right, time to find Curtis!
As a blisteringly hot beam shoots out from above the canopy like a darting anaconda, Ted regrets that he's found first.

"Where is he?"
Hopefully Garrus wasn't too far behind.
