There are five beings in existence, one to correspond with each of the five cities. Everglade’s spirit is in control of the barrier, powering it with fear. Fayren’s is involved in sacrifices and memories. Nothing is known about the other three as of yet except that they exist.
There are other spirits that reside outside the barrier as well, though they are considered to be hostile, and it is strongly advised to avoid them should they breach the barrier. Not much else seems to be commonly known on the subject.
