In person, Ragyo may notice that Satsuki appears a little more mature; though maybe that's just because she's wearing a long coat and hat over her usual attire. Once inside, she looks around a little and just feels.. Well, it isn't exactly dread, but she hardly feels comfortable.
So why is she bothering with setting up a belated Mother's Day lunch? Well, she's been keeping up with every other Japanese celebrated holiday, mostly to keep herself firmly rooted in her heritage in this crazy, mixed up world.]
[Action]
Ah, I'm glad you could make it for our grand opening, Satsuki. It's not quite the facility we're used to, but that will come in time.
[Ragyo drapes an arm around Satsuki's shoulders as she smirks out at the customers milling about the shop.]
[Action]
Ugh.. Just end her now.]
As always, your patience is to be commended, mother.
[She gestures to the small group of caterers behind her.]
I hope that same patience would be extended toward a tardy celebratory lunch. It is a sushi platter, if you have the time.
[But it really is quite small compared to back home. It's almost.. Nostalgic, in a twisted sort of way. She was pretty small when the business was smaller.]
[Action]
[She grins, leaning down and giving Satsuki a peck on the cheek, just because she knows Satsuki would hate it before giving the caterers a hand signal for them to start setting up in the employees section of the store.]
You really didn't have to go to this expense really, though I'm glad you did. There are things we can discuss while we eat.
[Action]
It was no trouble at all. And certainly.
[Satsuki has only the vaguest of ideas of what Ragyo would like to discuss that might be beneficial for her. For now she allows the other to take the lead.]
[Action]
This looks delicious. It's been far too long since I've had sushi.
[She takes a seat, casually filling a plate.]
I suppose you're familiar with Jacques Schnee by now, if only by reputation. What do you make of him?
[Action]
[Chopsticks in hand, she pauses just a moment at Ragyo's question. She isn't certain where this is going to lead.]
I do not have any particular thoughts about him; if he were here before Weiss Schnee, he probably would have made a similar impact. He appears to be a talented enough businessman, but time will tell what he can actually accomplish given the circumstances with his daughter.
[Action]
He reminds me some of your father. Ambitious, hungry... but there's an edge of ruthlessness that Soichiro never had. Still, it's that thirst for wealth and power that simply relegates him to yet another pig in human clothing. Easily manipulated.
[She takes a sip of the drink next to her plate.]
I would appreciate it if you conveyed to Weiss that I have no interest in her father, but think she could use someone acting as a sort of intermediary. There's certainly bad blood there, and if nothing else, I could garner at least a little favor keeping him out of her hair.
Re: [Action]
The mission she's given isn't a simple one, especially since she had already cautioned Weiss about Ragyo's own ruthlessness. Not simple, but not impossible either.
After consuming, she nods.]
I cannot disagree with that assessment.
Very well; I presume that means that your previous legal issue has gone smoothly enough to make this request possible?
[Action]
[She shrugs, taking another bite as if the whole thing were little more than a minor inconvenience.]
[Action]
Nui should have known that anyone who wears my insignia is of my infantry.
[As well as you, 'mother'. the unheard but implied sentence ends.]
Unlike in Japan, I do not have access to multitudes of resources.
[Action]
That's what I told her. [No she didn't.]
Still, there was some valuable data to be taken from that incident. And with Nui nowhere to be found, it won't be happening again.
[...Maybe.]
[Action]
[Oh my god, Ragyo, Satsuki would STRANGLE YOU.]
So she is gone.. I had a feeling it had gotten too quiet; though I have been around long enough to notice that some people do tend to return here. It is quite the mystery.
[But in this case it's a huge wave of relief.]
Similar to the subject of Mister Schnee, I have been taken in Anastasia Leonhart. I have been training her to become Guardian of Fayren when the time comes.
Re: [Action]
[She takes a sip of her drink.]
I came across her attempting to destroy a sword. She said it had been given to her by someone who betrayed her trust or something.
I still have the shards, actually. I have plans for that blade.
[Action]
[She'd describe Anastasia more as 'frustrating'. Lets face it, Satsuki just doesn't make a great mother-figure. The mention of the blade does catch her by surprise though.]
Another experiment? [She has to admit she's curious now.] Actually.. Seeing as the experiment with the satori had already been completed; I would be interested in seeing the results of the kamui with Komeiji, if I could. I had never granted her a goku uniform since I lacked the means to measure the risk involved.
(OOC: Btb, if we could wrap this up soon-ish to get started on the other plot, that'd be bradical!]
[Action]
Ah, yes, I will have someone send you the report. The experiment is actually part of why I've decided to use this blade as a guinea pig. One of the more interesting points of data was that, if properly tailored, its possible for the life fibers to gain sustenance from other energy sources than just the electrical impulses of its host's nervous system.
[OOC: Sure thing! o7]
