action; Garden Park
[Between her recently taking a job at the Cat's Eye and otherwise needing to keep an eye on Rascal the Zigzagoon, which though the option is there she refuses to have him confined to a ball, Celia's had surprisingly little time to actually do anything. The job doesn't demand too much of her time, so it's mostly due to Rascal, well, being a rascal; his name was originally a small joke the girl had made while trying to think of an actual name for him, but then the fuzzy terror had gone and more or less earned it by requiring more babysitting than even she did back home.
The irony isn't lost on her, as she'd been aware of her more-annoying quirks and habits—and largely unable (or perhaps just unwilling) to successfully kick them until—for a good stretch of time before she found herself here.
Rascal has gotten a bit better as time has moved on, and today, he seems to be behaving perfectly well, so Celia has decided to reward him with taking him out to the Garden Park. He seems to like it there, so much so that promised (but generally infrequent thus far) visits to the place have so far proven to be an effective way to get him to stop being so rascally so often. The only real downside is that when they do go, they come away from every visit with more small rocks for a collection that he seems to have taken up, and there's a decently-sized pile of them at the apartment now—not an excessive amount, but enough that it would likely be noticeable to visitors if she ever had any—because she's made no real attempt to stop him; it's preferable over him just straight up running off like he had a tendency to when she first got him.
So, today, any visitors to the park are likely to find the girl and her Pokémon, the former (literally) hovering along behind the latter, which bounds from place to place occasionally picking up rocks. Sometimes he runs back to Celia and gives her one that he found, which she places into a small bag that she's started carrying for this exact purpose. ...or he could just run up to anyone else instead, and give them one.
Like right now.
Hey, you.
Have a rock.]

Hey, you.
Have a rock.]

Not, of course, that he knew for sure that the trees there weren't something else entirely. They looked, and moved, and smelled like trees though, so it worked for him.
He's looking up at them when he hears something, and looks down to see some kind of... He's not sure what it is exactly offering him a rock. Still, it's cute, even if it breaks a little of the immersion, a little of his ability to pretend he's on Earth. He crouches down in front of it, eyes catching the girl... ...of course she was floating, behind him.]
He bite?
no subject
Nah, he's not mean. He's kinda excitable though so don't be too surprised if he starts gettin' noisy or anything.
no subject
I'll keep it in mind. What is he? [To much time around scientists. He couldn't help being curious.]
no subject
He's a Zigzagoon, which is basically like a different kind o' raccoon, far as I can tell. [Celia left her PokéBit at the apartment, otherwise she'd have more information.
And does whatever world he's from even have raccoons? She doesn't know, maybe? Maybe not? She doesn't really think to ask.]
I've had him for a couple o' months now, since jus' a bit after I first got here, and he's spent most o' the time actin' like an oversized puppy. [Rascal's about a foot tall, so he's definitely a bit bigger than the average puppy, but there's also the fact that Celia's not more than four feet herself, so to her he's even bigger.]

[He turns his attention briefly to the rock, and then back to
zigazagoon, before completing the circle and looking up at Celia. He trying to get me to throw this thing?

[He takes a step towards her, holding out the stone.] Don't really have anywhere to put this right now, why don't you hold onto it? Maybe he gives you most of 'em to weigh you down do you don't float off on him.
no subject
But yeah, if you got somewhere to be, then don't let me hold you up or' anythin'.
no subject
[He nods at her, but as he turns, he notices Zigzagoon's face and let's out a well-practiced all-suffering sigh and turns back to her, holding out his hand again. He sounds more than a little resigned.] I've got a locker.

[When McCoy puts his hand back out, Rascal right up, snags the rock back away from Celia—which she seems to have expected—and passes it right back to him.]

Cat's Eye - I'll have to keep that in mind. Might have to stop by some day for lunch. You two enjoy the rest of your day.
[Action]
Meanwhile, Ted is so absorbed in something that he almost doesn't notice Rascal and his earthy gift.]
"Oh-oh! Haha, well aren't you generous?"
[He looked vaguely like a dog, so Ted supposed it wanted to play fetch.]
"All right, go get it!" [Pokemon are pretty fast so he pitches it pretty far away. Darn, if only he knew he was supposed to keep it. Come to think, that didn't quite look like a normal raccoon. Pokemon? The PokeBit would confirm the guess.]
"Ah, a Zigzagoon! Not giving your owner too much trouble, eh? Careful, you may belong to one, but if you've strayed too far, I have no qualms 'capturing' you and putting you in your rightful place."
[Action]
Celia's been following her Pokémon pretty closely, and it's at about this moment that she catches up.]
I think he wanted you t'keep that.
Re: [Action]
[Aww. Now he feels bad.]
"Oh, erm...sorry, Zigzagoon. I didn't know."
[It was at that moment Gengar materialized from out of his shadow. He loves dramatic entrances. He muttered something that only pokemon would understand.]
(So rocks are gifts now? I can do that. How about a really fast one right in the kisser?)
"Ah, and there's Gengar! Spooky fellow, but being a Normal type I doubt either of you will give the other much trouble."
[And it only now dawns on him that there was an actual person speaking to him. He's a little slow on the senses. He bolts up and turns around to meet the stormsprite.]
"Celia! Long time no see. Were you able to make it out of the dungeon we call the Commons?"
[Action]
I'd hope not.
An' I dunno if I'd call that place a dungeon, but yep, got outta there a little while back. I'm at the place across the road here now. It's pretty nice, though some o' the stuff in there took a little gettin' used to. [The building's elevator and the machines in the laundry room, for example.]
Re: [Action]
"How affectionate! Unfortunately you may have to turn down such a, aheh, kiss. His are very 'stunning'.
Good for you! Goodness knows that's no place for a lady. Or much of anyone else, really. You've found work, then? At a power plant, perhaps?"
[Action]
Images of being used as a living battery come to mind here, even if they're likely nowhere near how such a place would work.]
Yeah, but wha? No, no, I'm at the Cat's Eye now. [It's a nice place, she thinks.] It's a little bit of a trip from here, but I'm fine with that.
[There's a different apartment building practically next door to the café, but the one she's staying at is more-affordable and being right next to the park is a good thing for Rascal.]
Re: [Action]
[Not the one he'd recommend, but so long as she's employed, he guesses it's fine. He's tries coaxing Zigzagoon from behind Celia.]
"Is he always so shy? Come on, Zigzagoon. Gengar doesn't bite. Can't learn that move, really."
(I know other ones. Can't wait to show 'em to ya.)
"Does he socialize much with other pokemon?"
[Action]
[Rascal steps forward, slowly, not sure if Gengar is just teasing or what.]
Re: [Action]
"Aheh, well Gengar does like to leave very indelible first impressions. Why, one time he..."
[While Ted is talking, he won't notice Gengar try to prank poor rascal by looking deeep into his eyes with Hypnosis.]
[Action] apologies for the delay, kinda busy this weekend
Re: [Action] apologies for the delay, kinda busy this weekend
"He's very young, isn't he? Not much for pugilism, then? Aheh, you do seem like the delicate type who wouldn't much care for that kind of roughhousing."

However as Fai stopped to sit on a nearby bench, he really hadn't been expecting so see a raccoon type pokemon come up and give him a rock of all things.
If Fai had to be honest it was a nice looking rock.]
Nice rock.
no subject
He's kinda picky 'bout the ones he picks up, an' likes giving 'em to people. Not too sure why yet, but it's better than him runnin' off or something.
Decided to bring yours out here for a bit too, eh, boss? [They're not at the Café right now, but habits.]
no subject
[His he found do sometimes wonder off, but never to the point where they would never come back at least.]
Ah yes, sometimes it's always nice to take them out now and again when one can. But, you don't need to call me boss when not at work. Just Fai.
