Good evening, everyone.

I have a very important announcement to make: I have decided to rescind my application for Guardianship of Attleton.

Now, I know many of you will be disappointed to hear this, and it is not a decision I made lightly. It has been brought to my attention by several individuals that I was looking to overstep the boundaries of the position and that perhaps my approach for such a prestigious and front-running role as City Guardian was premature; I’ve only been here for a month, after all. The advisement by many of you was very much appreciated, as I’ve chosen to sit back and learn more about the political climate of this world before jumping into such a prominent position.

Thank you all for your support, and best of luck to all of the candidates.

... You know, I just kind of skimmed everything, but did anyone actually support you?

Oh yes! I had several people voice their support; some merely elected to do it over private channels. Many prefer to keep their opinions to themselves.

...I can understand your instinct to jump straight up into a position of power, since you're so accustomed to it in your own world. But you really should be more careful.

Yes, it was an unfortunate oversight on my part. I plan on taking a step back and learning about this world before I do anything like it again.

[It's a bold face lie. All of these people are mentioning that he should be running for mayor, and he's heard there's an election coming up for that, and they're usually not so public. He'd be a shoo-in.]

No offense t'ya or anythin', buddy, but I don't think ya were off to a good start with the 'hole "campaign" thing in the first place.

Th' schpiel of actin' like ya were so gracious that ya backed off from yer girl's company on yer application was kinda a bad mark on ya from th' start. I ain't no professional in politics, but... just seemed kinda off puttin', ya know?

I understand your intentions, and commend your gumption, but I would simply like to say I believe you have chosen wisely in rescinding your candidacy until such time a better understanding of the social, economic, and political atmospheres of these conjoined cities has been gleaned.

[He listened to the entire thing. He could ask, "What does rescind mean?", but he gathered from the rest of the video that Jacques was no longer trying to be Guardian.

But, he didn't have the same predisposition that others had towards Mr. Schnee. Instead, he seemed a little concerned.]

Y-You're not going to run for Guardian anymore? Did... Did something bad happen?
