[This is the first time Vel's actually tried to use her device since she arrived, but she manages to get it on and running. In fact, when she appears on the screen, she looks to be reading over a piece of paper. Probably directions. It definitely looks like she's somewhere in Fayren.]

Oh, it's working Aki!

[...who's she even talking to?]

Now I'm not even sure what to say... [There's a bit of an awkward pause, but Vellsha smiles sheepishly at the camera. On the bright side, she's actually looking pretty good for once.]

Hi! I suppose. I'm just figuring this thing out, really. Apparently it's used to communicate with everyone else who's stuck here. I like this city more than Genessia. It reminds me of home.

[Well, far moreso than the other. She does miss Tiriliastar though, and all its beautiful sights. Fayren's more...rustic.]

...oh! Does anyone know a catfolk lady? I think she had a big sword. And armor. That's...probably a pretty vague description, but I wanna thank her for helping me out when I got here.

[ Being a new person, Shoji's been wildly curious about the network and the people living here, so he's been keeping an eye at any new broadcast. Seeing Vel's video, his mind immediately took notice of her pretty looks. Shallow, but that's just how he rolls. With a friendly grin, he greets at Vel from the comforts of an indoor place ]

Hey there. You a new arrival too?

[ He's trying to gather more people like him to hopefully team up with and befriend. It's tough being the only one here amidst the others who's been here for months and years. Those people seem to have their own thing going on for them ]

Name's Shoji, I just got here yesterday, so I can't help you about that cat lady friend of yours. But she'll probably get this message of yours if she pays attention to the network.

Well, sort of. I've been here for...maybe a month or so? I haven't really been keeping track.

[She's mostly just been laying low and trying not to stress out. It's been working well so far. Just that one nasty bout of fever and whatnot so far.]

My name's Vellsha, but you can call me Vel. I hope so, I kinda left that city without really looking for her. [But to be fair, she was still a little out of it and wanted to find someplace more comforting than the commonspace.]

That's a cute name, very fitting.

[ Shoji flirts, showing no shame in his tone or the way he carries himself. ]

A month though, that's a lotta time. What have you been doing?

Really? I think it's pretty normal.

[It isn't often people try to flirt with her, so she's...slightly oblivious.]

Yeah, it feels like forever. Recovering, mostly. I was really sick when I got here.

Shit, sorry to hear that. Glad to see you looking cute and healthy though.

[ Shoji smirks, showing his genuine relief. They hardly know each other, but being a fellow "kidnapee" Shoji just can't help but feel they're all in this together until they all break free and go home eventually. He likes to think optimistically ]

I saw some pretty freaky shit by the Fayren gate when I got here. Some kinda decontamination zone. Something going on there?

I don't expect it to last too long.

[So she's enjoying it while she can. Vel isn't sure what to believe about going home. Some people say time doesn't move while they're here, but that can't be how things work. Or so she believes, anyway.]

Oh. I'm not really sure. I kind of snuck by all that commotion.

[ Shoji could only laugh a little sheepishly at what Vel said. He wasn't sure what to say to that, despite being the type to always be prepared with something sassy to say. First time for everything, he suppose. ]

Hah, well as long as you're havin' fun. Haven't been to Fayren, Attleton, or Everglade yet. Spent a little time in Nova and got into some trouble less than two hours of being there. Talk about my luck, right?

I guess camping out like this is kind of fun. It's like being an adventurer! Only a little less dangerous.

[Well, she hasn't run into anything that's tried to maim or eat her yet, so she's assuming as much.]

I was lucky enough to have someone carry me to shelter when I arrived. Otherwise I might've been stumbling around the city for days.

[ Shoji nods, remembering the mention of that cat-folk woman who helped Vel out. ]

Right, cool. Must be crazy waking up here the first time too, huh?

[Yup. Khloe was more or less her savior. Or something like that.]

Yeah, nothing quite like waking up in a strange, unfamiliar place.

[ He'd joke about Vel being a pussy magnet for being helped by Khloe, but he'd save that when they know each other a little better ]

Totally. Thought I was trippin' balls when I woke up in those pods. Even with past experience with this whole "other worlds" business, some things you just don't get used to.

[ Though to be fair he's only been in one other world, and only briefly ]

[Sadly, she wouldn't get the joke. Poor thing.]

You've been to another world before? I bet that came in handy, even if just a little bit.

Yeah, a little bit. 'least that last one I've been to allowed me to go home anytime I felt like it.

[ He hums, disappointed, and gently scratching his tussled hair ]

Got a job yet? It's the polar opposite of my world here. Jobs are actually ridiculously easy to get. It's just sucks that the many available sound more like glorified chores than anything enjoyable.

Not being able to go back is kind of a problem...

[She sincerely doubts there are any other time mages here that could continue her teaching.]

Not yet. It'd be hard to keep a job with my...condition.

Condition? Care to elaborate?

[ He's a pretty helpful person in general, so he sees this as some sort of opportunity to help Vel find a job while he's looking for one himself. Might as well, right? ]

Well, most of the time I'm pretty sickly.

[That's the easiest way to put it without going into too much detail.]

Makes doing things just a little difficult.

[Peter seems to be in a good mood when he comes on screen, and the city street behind him is probably Genessia. His greeting smile is a lot less suave than he thinks it is - as usual.]

Okay, I don't know how many cat ladies are around here but I know a Khloe. I'm gonna bet it's her - really heavy accent?

[Sure, it could be someone else but the sword and armor made him pretty sure.]

Hey, by the way. [He raises his hand just high enough that he can waggle his fingers in a miniature wave into his own phone's camera.] Name's Peter Quill - some people call me Star-Lord.

Yeah! Sounds like she's from Sin Cove or something.

[She'd try to copy the accent to demonstrate, but she'd likely butcher it and make a fool of herself. At least she has a name now, though!]

Khloe, huh? [A pause.]

Oh yeah, hi! I'm Vellsha Himri. Are you really a lord? You don't look very lord-like.

...never heard of it. I got kind of a Scottish vibe but the translator implant I've got kind of has a mind of it's own sometimes.

Khloe, yeah. If it's the girl I'm thinking of she is really attached to that name too.

No, not a lord. I get that a lot though. I am a Guardian of the Galaxy though.

What's 'Scottish'?

[This is a girl from an almost purely fantasy world, although it's built on the ruins of a more technological age. It doesn't sound familiar to her, though.]

I thought so. Besides, most lords tend to be kind of stuffy and boring. Most of them. I'm a mage! Well...a mage in training, anyway. I haven't mastered anything yet.

[That's fine. Practically no one ever knows what Peter's talking about, it's never stopped him before.]

From a place, back where I'm originally from. Not a big deal.

Ha, they do, don't they? That's pretty cool. Or will be, anyway. We don't have a lot of magic and stuff.

Definitely. I can do a few incantations, but for now I'm...limited. What's it like living where there's no magic?

Never been. Heard it on tv somewhere, probably.

[She had to have at least seen a tv since she'd been there, right?]

I don't know. We've got tech instead - things people make that do the stuff we need them to. What's it like living somewhere without Scottland?

[Okay, he's kidding, but he still thinks it's kind of a valid point.]

I'm...not really sure what a tv is, but is it like a radio?

[She probably has seen one, but she didn't know what it was! All the super-advanced stuff in Genessia was confusing.]

I guess it was fine? It's hard to tell without having seen or been there.

Like a radio, yeah. But with a window, so you can see what's going on and not just hear it.

[He could work with that. He smiles a little, as if illustrating his point.]

Hard to tell without having lived with magic.

So...kind of like this thing? Except less music?

[She taps on the screen to emphasize what she means.]

[Peter has a moment of revelation with that, and feels a bit stupid.]

...yes. But sometimes they just show you a recording of what already happened.

I think I get it now. Maybe.

[But she isn't going to keep asking about it.]

Are you a friend of Khloe's?

[A friend? Peter considered that for a moment.]

I've actually only talked to her like twice. She leaves on hell of an impression though, I can tell you that. I think she probably lives somewhere in Fayren. If you still haven't gotten ahold of her you could try sending a personal message or something maybe.

Is it possible to do something like that with this? I only sort of got a basic rundown on how to even turn it on.

But maybe if I keep poking around Fayren I'll bump into her.

[Krista was currently at a hall sorting out a few things, looking left and right. It's clear to begin with she is talking to someone off the screen.]

It is used for that purpose, I mean only people who end up in the same situation seem to respond to whatever shenanigans people get up to on these. As for catfolk... I think they would really stand out and I haven't seen anyone like that,m sorry to say.

It seems pretty useful! I'm still not entirely convinced there's no magic at all in how these things work.

[Most of the mechanical devices back home have some sort of magic helping to power them.]

Yeah, most of the people I've seen here look pretty human.

If you wanna find, out go right ahead. But back home a phone is a phone with no magic involved, so I think it's the same principle here.

[She nodded slightly.]

Yeah, but we can't even say everyone is. It's a mystery.

I know that. I've seen plenty of people who look human, but aren't.

It makes me curious about what there world is like though, if I am honest.

I mean how did they become who they are. Much like how humans became human type thing.

I guess every world is different.

Mm. Magic is very common in the world I come from. I guess that's why my pendant matches Fayren then, huh?
