If you don't have it already, you should get a checklist for credentials. If you don't you might end up with some weird dumbass.

I have thought of a trial period though nothing as elaborate as a list. Whoever might be interested doesn't know anything about me either so we're both taking the same risk.

In that respect it seems fair. There is no one saying that I'm completely normal, is there.

It depends on your definition but most of the technology here isn't where I'm from.

[Much like Belle, Ildikó is having a bit of a hard time with modern technology. She's still learning how to use most of it but already appreciates the wonders of running water.

The screen is recording her from the shoulders up, which means her four arms are out to the view. The mercenary smiles at Belle.]

A really fitting name, I'd say. Hello, Belle, I'm Ildikó. I got here that last week and I just applied for an apartment in Genessia City, the place is called Garden Park Apartments. I wouldn't mind a roommate, I'm used sharing space.

[She misses her mercenary group, the Atheris, and some company can't hurt.]

[Belle's expression softens.]

That's very kind of you. I'm honored by the invitation. Would you like to meet first? You might change your mind.

[She's actually a pretty easy person to live with.]

Meeting in person would be perfect.

Oh, I doubt it. You can't be as bad as the Atheris. I lost count of the number of times I woke up to screams, knives fight or burned breakfasts.

[Ildikó has lived with a group of mercenary ladies that were anything but easy. She isn't worried about troublesome roommates but it would be nice to have an easier going one for once.]

And if you change your mind after we met, no hard feelings either. Where should we meet?

[Belle doesn't know if this woman is joking or not but her words earn her a small smile.]

I promise I won't do that.

The library is always easiest for me but I know where almost all the locations in Genessia are. There is a pizza place I've heard of too. [The way she says pizza sounds awkward, as if she has never said the word prior to now.]

[Mostly joking. The Atheris are...special people. Most of them aren't 'people' in the strict sense of the word, and certainly not all human.]

Thank you. Burned breakfasts are a terrible way to start the day.

[She's never heard or said that word before either, so she sound just as awkward as Belle.] I don't really know what pizzas are but the library is easy to find. We could meet there in 15 minutes.

Thank you again for considering letting me live with you. [She's a little excited because it's something new.]

[Returning the smile comes quite easily.] No need to thank me. I grew up always surrounded by a lot of people and one clingy winter spirit. Being alone is strange to me.

I'll be heading to the library, see you soon.

[Idikó is carrying her weapons when she arrived at the Library but she doesn't look like she's about to cause trouble. It's just that she likes to be ready for it when it eventually happens. In person, it's fairly obvious that she has some more arms than what's considered the average for a human. She gives Belle a smile after spotting her.]

Ey Belle. Nice to meet you in person.

[Belle is dressed in her traditional dress. She has money but not a lot of it so she hasn't been purchasing new clothes or any of the odd items in the city. Her head turns and she smiles at the woman.]

Same to you.

[Her expressions is softly.]

Thank you again for meeting me. I have a job but I'm afraid I don't have the funds or the inclination to live alone. I wanted to tell you that Id be happy to keep the place clean and do any cooking or anything you need.

[She's used to taking care of her father.]

[Ildikó wears pants but she's happy to see that Belle dresses very similar to the people in her world. Due to her experience in the inn, Ildikó has gotten a position as Branch Manager in Mokona's Magical Cafe and she's got little issues with money for now. She's also pleased to see that Belle seems unbothered by her less than normal appearance.]

Really, stop thanking me. I might have the funds but not the inclination either. Living alone gets too boring and too lonely really quickly. [Ildikó appreciates the offer but politely refuses it with a smile.]

Thanks but Chore-Splitting won't be an issue. I know how to clean after myself and I'm not terrible at cooking. Except for rabbits...they're too cute, I can't stand the idea of eating them. Besides, my mother would kick my ass if she knew I was slacking.

I was thinking we could go visit the apartment, that way you can decide if you like and we can get to know each other better.

[Belle feels her smile before she realizes that the expression has found a way to her lips.]

Rabbits are very cute. We used to keep chickens and when I was little my father told me that I wasn't allowed to name them. [She'd learned quickly why that is.]

I'd like that. I was hoping to start a small garden wherever I moved, even if it's just a box outside of a window. I enjoy having something to take care of.

[ooc: Hi! I'm really sorry for being so slow, I have a lot of stuff going on both rl and rp-wise.]

[Ildikó makes a face that is both a smile of sympathy and a small wince, scrunching her nose.] Oh, poor you. That's the bad thing about having a farm, you got too attached to the food to be.

[At Belle small wish, Ildikó smiles again. The girl is just too sweet.] Then you like the apartment, I requested a first floor on purpose. The apartment has a decks and a patio, you could fill them with flowers and plants.

[ooc: that's fine, take your time :) ]

[Her smile widens as she looks up at the other woman. So far everything she's seen promises that the arrangement will be perfect. She hopes that continues to be the case.]

Can I? That sounds wonderful. [They will have roses and a small garden if Belle has anything to say about it.

She follows next to Ildikó as she continues.] Do you have a favorite sort of flower? I don't mind planting it.

Of course, it would be your house too. As long as you don't break anything too badly, do whatever you want.

[Ildikó likes first floors best because if something happens or someone attacks, it's much easier to get out of the house and fight. And, in general, he's not very fond of heights.]

Hm...I like marigolds. Do you have those in your world? They're a rich yellow-orange colour. It also has medicinal properties.

[Belle fights the smile that spreads over her lips.]

I won't break anything. [Though if something does break she'll happily work to fix it.]

Yes. [Her smile brightens.] I will make sure to find them. My favorite flower is a rose but they're harder to grow. I'm excited to try. [Assuming she can find the seeds.]

Don't be too worried if you do, my girls used to break things all the time. [That's what she said 'too badly' before. She knows accident happens. More so when you live with mercenaries.

Garden Park Apartments are already visible, it would take them only a minute or two to reach the entrance.]

Thank you in advance. Gardening was never my forte, I even manged to kill cacti. Roses are really pretty, I'm sure I saw a few rosebuds in Fayren. We could find seeds there. Is that what you do for a living? Take care of plants?

[Belle smiles at the thought of starting a rose garden. It would be something beautiful and while she’s here, it’ll be a memory of both her mother and father.]

A little. We had a small plot that we farmed. There was rarely enough food to sell at market but we got by with what we could. My father would also make toys and travel to Paris to sell them.

[When she mentions her father her voice is filled with love and affection. There is no one in the world that Belle cares for more.]

I didn’t exactly do anything for a living. Women don’t work where I’m from. [At least not in the sense that she’s talking about.]

[Then it will be done. It's a better way to remember family than Ildiko's way. She only has to look at a bottle of rum and the memory of her adoptive mother springs to mind.]

Sometimes surviving is all you can do. But the toys, those sound nice. We had an inn and our guest were often rather unconventional, we were famous for it. No matter who you where, what you were, you could always find a warm meal and a cold drink in out inn.

[A curious look crosses her face at the last explanation.] What, none? And then who does all the useful things? Most men can't be trusted with anything. [She's mostly joking. Mostly.] I worked in the inn until I decided I wanted to see the world. Then I became a mercenary and now I'm here.

They were always amazing. [It's why Belle has a mind for machines and most likely why she's been able to adapt to this world as well as she can.] That sounds amazing. [A place where anyone was welcome, Belle would have loved to see it.]

Men try to but there is usually a strong women behind them. [Belle smiles a bit.] I've always wanted to see the world.

[The fondness in Belle's voice is hard to miss and Ildikó is pleased to see she was so proud of her father's work.]

It wasn't always perfect but your sex doesn't determine your value. Most of the time, that's it. There's still jerks everywhere, you know?

[But no one gave women odd looks for liking to read or for being in positions of power.]

Hah, ain't that the truth...We should explore the different cities properly then. There's a lot ti see here.

I have experiance with that too. [Belle smiles a bit. She knows plenty of jerks.] I think there are rude people everywhere though sometimes it's simply because they don't understand something and lash out towards it.

[She doesn't like how the towns people look at her but she can't blame them when they don't know any other way to live. Belle is always pushing their norms.]

Is there? I've seen Everglade. I work in one of the smaller archways there. I haven't had time to see the other places. [She wants to see Paris most of all but she doesn't think that's possible here.]

Most of the time that's the case. It's a shame, people are people no matter what they look like.

[She thinks about how things are back in her homeland of the fairy folk, the undead, and regular people. while her mother's inn had been established as a neutral place and no one could fight there, the same rules didn't apply outside their territory.]

I visited all cities except Nova City, but only briefly. Nova City looks is nothing I've seen before and that why I'm still careful about it. They have metal golems and strange objects everywhere. Which archway? I should pay those a visit too.

[It could be possible if someone who knew Paris opened a subarchway. Sadly, Ildikó has no idea what Paris looks like. They finally get to the building and the brunette woman motions towards one of the doors, taking the keys out of her pocket.]

This is the place. I don't have many things and I didn't bother with redecorating, the furniture came with the flat. If you decide to stay, you can change anything you want of course.

[Belle has found the people in Genessia significantly more open than those from her village but Ildikó is right in her assessment. People don't really change and they continued to lash out at things that are different. All that has changed is their definition for what those differences are.]

I don't know the sub-archways name but I can show you some day. The shop I work at makes potions and magical pendents. I have no talent for magic myself but I am a scribe there and help gather some of the materials for Cassian to use. [She rather enjoys her job and they let her organize and clean up the store when she feels that it's too messy.]

I don't think I'd care much for Nova City either. [As much as she likes robots, toys and gears, Belle can't imagine a whole city like that. It feels to cold.]

Thanks very nice of you. [She replies as they step up to the door.] I don't think I'll change very much but I am happy for the offer.

[She has noticed as well how people here were kinder, more willing to accept others. But the fact that there's still issues with Everglade proves that they have a long way to go.]

That sounds good, I'd like to visit. I have no talent for magic myself either but some of my teammates back home were really skilled with it. A scribe, hm? maybe you will earn learning some magic just by writing down things and memorizing ingredients.

[Ildikó doesn't write much but she likes reading and they sure can fill the house with books. ]

Can't blame you there, no. [All the buildings are so huge too, they make Ildikó feel dwarfed.] You are very welcome, Belle.

[The mercenary know the place by hand now and she will let Belle look around as much as she wants while she goes to the kitchen.]

My room's the second door by the left ant the end of the corridor, any thing else is fair game. Would you like something to drink?

I like reading and writing. If I could I would fill the apartment with books.

[Belle slowly makes her way through the apartment. It's perfect. It already feels like home though part of that is because of Ildikó. She's been so welcoming and friendly. Even if she isn't allowed to live here, she feels as if she's met someone who might one day be her friend.]

Do you have tea?

[She walks down the hall and peeks into the unused room. It's bigger than what she is used too or what she was going to expect.] It's perfect. I really like it.

Oh, feel free. Galatea always carried her manuscripts and books everywhere we went. She was one of my teammates before we made enough money and she left to open a library.

And yes, I sure do! [Ildikó goes to fetch the kettle to boil the water. She is an avid tea lover, it's very common to drink it where she comes from, and has quite the assortment of different tea in of the cabinets. She opens it for Belle to have a look and chose the one she fancies once she's done looking around the apartment.]

Galatea once stabbed in the eye a monster who burned one of her books. With a pen. They are right when they say pen is mightier than the sword...especially if the pen is very sharp and the woman holding it has a grunge against you.

[Her eyes are light up with mirth, Ildikó was always very close to all of the members of her party and loved talking about them.]

Then you can move is as soon as you are ready.

[Belle picks out a nice herbal tea before smiling at Ildikó.]

I would have to agree with Galatea. [There is nothing scarier than a woman with a vengeance. Belle knew this to be true no matter the situation. Belle loves hearing about Ildikós company. They sound like a lovely collection of people and ones that she hopes to one day meet.]

Are you sure?

[Belle's smile widens.]

I don't have many things. I can have everything here by tomorrow.

[That gets her to laugh as she picks up some black tea for herself.]

Yes, I had the feelings you would. She would have liked you back, I have no doubts. [She might not know a lot about Belle but it's hard to imagine someone not liking her.]

[Belle smiles as she walks over. Her life is turning out differently than she thought it might but she doesn't hate it. In fact, she's exited about what adventure might arise next.]
