[Video]

[Jaune's on top of a building in Genessia, avoiding the spirits long enough to post on the network. He's still in his formal white jacket, the red sash he always wears as well as his shield and sword making him looks somewhat more like a knight. He knows his weapons won't fully defeat them, and he has the one Weiss gave him, but he tries not to use it except for when necessary. A physical barrier is better than nothing. As for how he got up there, his Gyarados is in the background, but he's about to put him back in his pokeball for his own protection.]

I didn't get the chance before we got attacked, but those flowers inside some of the spirits are familiar. Remember back in January when anyone who drank the water in Nova City were split in to different morality halves? When Kanonno defeated Mr. Seek, he told me that he used a flower a lot like the ones seen inside those spirits for his formula. The same flowers can be found in Fayren. I don't know how the spirits could have gotten into Fayren, or why, just-- If this is going to be stopped, I think looking there is our best bet. I'm already heading over. If anyone wants to team up, let me know. Don't feel like you have to.

Just be careful.

I know that I should go to Nova City. We have a responsibility, but I feel like this is the only thing that could help all of the cities. Will you let me do this, and can you go with me?

[He already knows her answer. He closes his eyes for a moment, and opens them, looking resigned.]

Please just give me an answer so I know you're okay.

[It's more of a struggle than an actual fight, when the spirits just keep reappearing. Jaune has made the choice to use his own weapons as much as possible, not sticking to one area for very long unless he sees someone who is cornered by the spirits or who looks hurt. He'll be fine. He doesn't need to rely on it too much. He just has to keep his distance.

People who are still outside might hear a loud scream that's meant to be a battlecry before Jaune flies past them using his shield to try and ram the spirits away, or pin them down with his sword in a downward strike.]

[ She gets it. She really does, and she's glad that he's helping. She's glad he's found a purpose and a way to help besides being on the defensive. ]

Nova City needs its Guardian, so I can't go with you. But you should go and you have my full support. We'll hold things down here. Do you need anything?

[ Because she'll give him whatever he needs to go, but she can't leave Nova when everything's at stake like this. ]

[He wants to help. The separation hits a little too close to home, but he understands, and he glances down. Part of him resents how drawn he is to it. He has to do this.]

[ She hesitates to respond to that, but not for the reasons he's thinking. She hasn't really talked about what happened during the last breach beyond vague terms. Most people don't even know she fell prey to one of those spirits. But Jaune needs to know. ]

Last time, I ran out of Dust. I'd been going for days, I didn't have the practice I do now- this was before I was even considering becoming a Guardian. I used the last of my ice to seal myself under a counter in Luke's tea shop but eventually they got through. I know it sounds corny, but if there's someone who you can feel so deeply you know at your core they're always going to be there, that's who you need to call. These things can't take that away from you no matter what they drain. That's how Zuko got me back last time. Whoever that is for you, that's the first person I want you to call if it gets bad, even if it isn't me. They're the one who needs to know more than anything.

So they really do that? Drain you of your emotions.

[He understands why Weiss is telling him this, and he appreciates it, but he doesn't want to think of Weiss or anyone else losing their emotions like that. But would doing so make him a better fighter?]

It's not a pleasant sensation and the only thing really left is a hunger to feel again, no matter what the cost. [ She nods. ] I'll do my best.

[ She shakes her head. ] I've never seen them with flowers before. It's different, like they did something to themselves, or.. [ Someone else did. ] Sun said in the first breach there was someone there when they beat a huge spirit. The man fled and we didn't see him during the second. How did Seek get flowers from Fayren? He shouldn't be able to leave Nova City, he doesn't have a pendant.

[ Things she hadn't quite put together before are now becoming pretty relevant. ]

Someone else got Seek those flowers. I don't know who-- I don't know if even he does, but from how he was talking I think he might actually be from here. Or he's been here long enough to access all of the cities. If they're not the same person, they're probably working together.

Mystery man gives Seek flowers that are found in another subarchway, flowers are found in spirits who seemed to have shut down the barrier in Genessia City and Genessia City alone, despite that the barriers are generated from Everglade. If you're going to Fayren, I want to speak to this man if you find him. There's no Guardian in Fayren right now, just bring him here if you're the one who finds him and we'll discuss custody later. We've got Seek, he's the one person who can identify him from a line up.

[ There's no "if what you said is true." She believes Jaune. There are some things she still doesn't trust him on, but this isn't one of them. ]

Maybe he can help us with the spirits, if he didn't do it himself. Sounds like a good plan. I kind of fail at interrogations. I just want answers.

Seek's been getting those science books I've been sending him, right?

That's fine. Worst comes to worst, I'll play good cop-bad cop with Mercury.

[ Weiss that would be more like crankybossy-cop and bad-cop. ]

Last I checked, he had been.

If this stranger has been the one causing the breaches, he deserves a violent interrogation.

Good. He's a decent person; it's his methods that are questionable.

[ It's times like these when having a very specific type of weapon is quite useful. Sealing / spiritual magic is the way to go here and unfortunately it's rather apparent that most weapons people have don't have that going for them.

Evasive maneuvers are most people's go-to. Keep a distance. Don't touch it. Link's not keeping as much of an advisable distance from these spirits, currently in the process of giving one a forceful stab to keep it away from someone when Jaune comes flying by screaming. Oh. ]

Link! [Jaune stops what he's doing, momentarily forgetting about their surroundings out of pure relief to see Link okay. She looks beautiful holding her sword like that.

More spirits start swarming around them, reminding him of his surroundings. Yelling, he forces one back with a blast of water Dust, using that time to get closer to the spirit and rapidly slash it with his sword.]

[ Hello. Don't stop fighting to look at him. He shoots at one over Jaune's shoulder with his bow.

Getting behind him while Jaune slashes, Link takes defense - keeping them from getting too close with well placed arrows. Is there a plan here? Jaune's the one that knows what's going on, right? ]

[But Link is gorgeous. Like some sort of majestic warrior goddess. Oh right they're in the middle of a fight. Spirits continue to approach them and Jaune makes a wall of water, slashing forward to create a shockwave that throws the water forward and stuns them. It's only temporary.]

We have to get to Fayren! [It's enough space to let Gyarados out. Jaune extends a hand to Link, offering to pick him up and seat him on the water dragon.]

I don't know much about the situation yet, besides that these spirits are sucking emotions and are clearly dangerous, but this has something to do with some flowers found in Fayren?

You seem busy, but at some point when you're not, do you think you can explain a few things for me?

[If he had to fight, than there was no reason to tie him up any longer. She couldn't exactly fight without her Persona, so she was just going to have to sit it out for the time being, hoping that she could do something to help eventually. Maybe when she knew more, she'd be able navigate others to safety or even help out in other ways; Hacking sometimes had it's uses, but she hasn't quite touched that just yet while adjusting to this world.]

[She must be new. Jaune is busy, so he doesn't go out of his way to find a safe zone. But once he gets to an area with less spirits and he's already replying to other people, he responds to her questions.]

What did you need explained?

[Futaba doesn't mind at all for waiting. She figured he was busy, after all.]

Well, I'm new here, so I only know that these spirits are dangerous and that they suck emotion or something. Where did they come from? What do they want? What's their purpose?

I know I'm asking a lot, but I'd like to know what I'm going to be dealing with and what problems are happening around here. More specifically if there's any way I can help, even without my Persona here...

[That last bit slipped out, but she didn't retract it now that it was out there. It wasn't important enough to do so here.]

I-- I don't know. I get that you're new, and this is probably, no, it's definitely a lot to take in and having some answers would make things less overwhelming, but I don't have the answers, except that they're from outside the barrier. That's what we're trying to figure out: Why they're here, and how to stop them.

I don't know what your capabilities are, so I can't tell you what you should be doing. But honestly, if you're not sure, your best bet is to be careful and not put yourself in a situation where you don't have the knowledge of what you're facing.

[So even the people who've been here for a while (or so she assumes) don't know much about the situation.]

Well... I don't know how much good it will be in this situation, but I can hack pretty decently. If only I had my Persona with me, I'd be able to help navigate... or... something anyways...

[She's just a little frustrated that, admittedly even to her, she feels that wouldn't really come in much use for this situation.]

[Angela had intended on responding back to the video earlier, but he seemed busy and the situation did worry her. She couldn't do much here just yet, but she intended on doing what she did best; supporting others and keeping them alive. She was a field medic after all, she could do this much. She was well aware that it was dangerous out, but it didn't stop her from brandishing her Caduceus staff and Caduceus Blaster, just in case. Blaster still holstered, she cautiously walked about Genessia with her staff in hand to assist anyone who needed help.

She hadn't had the chance to properly shop for any other clothing besides her Valkyrie suit, but it was probably going to prove to be useful in this situation anyways. She was trying to keep ears/an eye out for any sign of trouble when she heard the scream. Seeing the young man fly by, she guardian angeled her way towards him, instinctively casting a healing beam on him, just in case. There was no reason to damage boost at the moment, but she did keep an eye out for any other trouble. Maybe it was just habit at this point?]

Are you okay? Do you need any assistance?

[Sure they haven't spoken more than probably once, but hey he was connected to dancing and that was alright in her books.]

Alright Dancing King, just make sure you are careful as well. Don't wanna break a leg or anything, do you?

[A pause for a moment.]

Oh and I'll offer my help only if it is needed there.

["Dancing King". That gets him to smile a little despite their hellish situation.]

If I did that, I would feel pretty stupid after asking you to save me a dance once this is all over. Since your party was cut short and all.

Can you fight?

Hey, not only will I owe you a dance, I will owe you some dance lessons. I remember you told me what you did know. So I thought, why not teach you something else in the future.

[Because why not really. She nodded slightly.]

Of course, magical girl and all. Just... will not use one of my abilities because what could happen is potentially too scary a thought.

[What would happen if she filmed them? She honestly didn't want to do what they could, even if it was only once.]

[He blinks, unsure if he heard her correctly, stars in his eyes as he asks.]

In a sense, yes. There are differences like how I got my power though and the fact magical boys can be a thing. Just like extremely rare.

I'll be heading towards Fayren to be of assistance there.

I wasn't here in January but...are we certain that the spirits did all this on it's own? It's seems unlikely, given how they couldn't cross the barriers before.

We're not totally certain, and I heard about a man that may have played a part in it, though it's been hard to narrow down considering we know nothing about him. But if there has been someone who's been here longer than any of us with access to all five cities, tracking him down could be a start to stopping all of this.

If I managed to acquire a horse I could get there more quickly but that's proven to be a difficult thing to do accomplish here.

There is always someone who knows something. It's worth investigating if a mage of some sort is behind this. What do you know about that man? Any clues about how does he look like?

Just borrow one. It's a crisis so I'm sure no one would mind.

[He glances over his shoulder, then back at Ildikó.] Was someone else there?

I don't know what he looks like, but I know who might. Getting to him's another story. He's kind of in prison.

Good point, I suppose that's doable given our situation.

[Wouldn't be the first time she stole something, even if she prefers to pay for what she gets if she can help it. For a mercenary, she's got some special standards.

her eyebrows go up for a second in then she chuckles.] I was talking about you, darling.

if he's in prison at least he won't' be terribly hard to find. That with being locked up.

Do you have enough assistance to help you? Or do you need more?

[Yukiko was trying her best to deal with the situation in Fayren, so she knew she could at least help from the gate.]

I'd be happy to help you as soon as you enter Fayren, though. Make sure you aren't hurt and such.

( there's no second thoughts for pyrrha in the heat of battle. it's a place where she can feel like she belongs again, where she doesn't just mis-step or make mistakes. fighting... it's the only thing she's good for now.

the battle cry nearby doesn't go unnoticed, and before she even has a chance to think twice about it, she's bringing down her javelin opposite of jaune in a flourishing finish.

in the heat of the moment there was... no time to dwell on all of her regrets. ) There's more coming!

[great so he's hallucinating.

except pyrrha is really here. or he thinks she is. he finally decides screw it, there's no way to know for certain, but he wants her to be here. he wants this to be real. he gets so distracted by the moment, watching the familiarity of her wielding her javelin with such graceful strength, that he nearly gets cornered by one of the spirits. shrieking, he slices through it in a hurried manner, bringing up his shield and standing next to pyrrha.]

They're going to keep coming. We can't stay here forever, we have to move to somewhere where we have the advantage.

( she's back to back with him, as the spirits seem to be closing in around them. there's a look of determination in her eyes, he may not be able to see it, but there's no shortage of it in her voice as her spear retracts back into its sword form, and her body presses lightly back against him. )

What should we do?

( you're the leader, jaune. and she has the utmost confidence in you. just give the command. )

[he hesitates at first, at a loss of how to answer her question. he was a leader at one point. but here, he's relied on others, and it's probably better that way. look at everyone he got hurt, or killed. but right now, during these few seconds, he's responsible for both of them. pyrrha's contact to him grounds him and he screws his eyes shut to think of a plan, remembering his training in genessia, and what he discovered at the dream docks.] ...We're going to do Arkos Level 30.

[he stabs a spirit before clarifying.] Pyrrha, I'm going to use some dust to surround us and then force it out to temporarily stun the spirits. While they're distracted, I'm going to start slashing the air in the same direction. It's going to look weird, but I need you to start attacking in a circular motion because hopefully I'll do it hard enough to propel your attacks and give them more power. If it doesn't work, then--

[he doesn't want to elaborate on that.] Anyway. Let's do this.

Right. ( she takes a moment to glance quickly over her shoulder at him, flashing him a small, but confident smile. ) Leave it to me!

( she faces forward again, donning a serious look and with a strong— ) Hup! ( she takes to the air. it seems to happen in slow motion, and she flips backwards, helped along by footing courtesy of her levitating shield.

her weapon transforms again into a spear as she readies herself to take action, as soon as she sees jaune make his move... )
