[Action/Closed] The employee/employer dynamic
Who: Dr. Flug and Black Hat
What: Two evil geniuses doing evil genius things
When: Tonight
Where: Genessia City
Warnings: Dark themes and emotional manipulation
The reverse engineering of the magics on the wraith weapon had taken time and effort. Enough that they were only a fraction through the needed research of the weapon's spell make-up and structure. This long-term research and development wasn't something Flug was used to. Still, the challenge was exciting for the doctor. Except Black Hat demanded results. This lead Flug to this extreme test. Part of the spell matrix was decoded and perhaps it was enough to at least trap one of those monsters.
The only thing needed was bait. Which is where Flug came in. He was in the middle of the array crafted around him along with a metal box between his feet. He shook as he stood there and watched for one of the wraiths. They were attracted to emotions, right? This meant he was the perfect bait. He was full of emotions and he was alone in the middle of the night. He just needed to wait. Soon enough, a wraith appeared. The glowing orb in its center and the wilted flower was visible, along with its ghostly and terrifying visage. Flug watched as it came right for him. He just had to wait for the signal to move.
He had to trust in Black Hat. There was a no death clause in his contract. His boss wouldn't let him die here, right? He couldn't. That didn't mean he wasn't going to walk away from this untouched. He flinched and covered his head with his arms at the last moment. Panic set in and exploded deep inside him.
"B-BLACK HAT SIR!" He cried out in terror. Please for the love of Cthulhu, don't let him die here.

Maybe have something fuck with your emotions, but shit, kiddo what do you need those for?
Black Hat... of course.... just stood off to the side as the wraith appeared, ghastly and terrifying. And Flug?
Flug was Flug, Black Hat was both disappointed and not at all surprised when the terrified youth flung his arms over his head and started screaming for help.
He barely looked up from his phone, just to see if the entity had even made direct contact with the scientist yet.
No?
Kay he's going back to candy crush then, have fun over there.

The doctor flailed for a time, self preservation and fear gripping him until the latter was pulled out. Hands slipped to his sides and his legs ceased to kick. It was the draining of his emotions but also the lack of oxygen. The brain was shutting down unneeded systems, desperately attempting to save much needed oxygen for vital systems. Flug knew what was happening and was already working on a plan. It seems easy now to think about what was needed and how to escape. Funny how without emotions clouding the rational parts of his mind, he could finally think clearly.
Nonetheless, it appeared as if he was going to let the creature just strangle him to death. Boss? A little help?

With a sigh, the phone was shut off, and the entity not busy strangling Flug for once hefted his cane, took aim and-
Well if Flug didn't do anything, that wraith was about to get pinned through the face to a wall, thanks.

The blade he was given by Genessia's Guardian was pulled from his jacket. He ran toward the creature and stabbed the blade through the chest of the ghost. He was interested in the sphere in the center of the wraith. Perhaps it held some information about recreating the weapon he held in his hand. Trapping it was no longer an open or thought. Impulse and rational ran the doctor as he used the blade to rip the the ghostly wraith open. He reached inside and pulled the sphere out as the ghost dissipated. David Haller had stated the weapons were made to destroy the wraiths but also they would drain the user's emotions.
Except Flug had none anymore. There was no drawback to using it. The doctor held the wilted flower close to his face and examined it closely for a moment.
"Hm. Further testing will be required," He said with a bored sounding monotone.

Well. That was new. Black Hat casually withdraw the cane, the spin given jaunty before it tapped loudly against the pavement. One black gloved hand slipped past Flug, and went to try and snatch the sphere from Flug to give it a look himself, fascinated despite it all.
Hey, it wasn't like any wraith he'd run into before, new things were novel when you were Black Hat.
"We have plenty of time for that. Quality work requires time." Now that they had the material, they could take their sweet time in refining it.
Still, that one eye kept lazily moving back to Flug. Drained, so it would seem, the wraith had left him a husk. That was easy enough to tell, Haller had been very open about what the wraiths did.
"Feeling a bit washed out?"

The reaction would be instant. First of all, Flug didn't lay hands on Black Hat, ever.
Ever.
That wasn't allowed. Second of all, in that very second he felt his own emotions being sapped from him.
NO.
HE'S GOOD THANKS.
No death clause was no death clause, but backhanding the man across the face to unlatch him from his arm? That wouldn't kill him. Rattle some teeth, but not kill.

Flug turned on Black Hat and stared the villain. His fingers twitched. He wanted more. More of these raw and powerful emotions but rationale told him it would be futile. Black Hat was on guard now and attempting it again would risk too much. So the scientist slipped the knife back into his jacket and rolled his shoulders.
"What's wrong, Black Hat? Not one for touching moments?" He asked, the condescension and disgust clear in his voice. He almost perfectly mimicked the odd cadence Black Hat spoke with too. Funny how emotions could influence behavior, isn't it?

Wraith removes emotions.
Emotionless weirdo latches onto him....
Flug starts doing a terrible Black Hat impersonation.
Alright, well, at least he can put two and two together fast enough. On one level yeah, he's a little impressed. That could be very useful!
On the other hand what the fuck, Flug.
"I know you probably feel bloody invincible right now, but try to use your brain and remember I can rearrange your organs without removing them from your body."
Don't touch, Flug.

"I'm no fool, Black Hat. I've only gained your emotions. I don't have your power. It's an interesting experience, learning your default emotions. At the very least I now know you feel emotions at all. I had my initial doubts," Flug explained.
"Nonetheless, I still do not have a sufficient amount of emotions yet. The full breadth and range of emotions are still lost to me.
Perhaps I can steal the others from others in the city and observe the effects on them. It will be a change to gather data on the possibilities of the weapons we're designing."

He likes this idea.
"I suppose this will have to do as a prototype until we finish research."
Meaning yes. Please. Go out and turn everyone into a sad gray lump.
ESPECIALLY RICK.
FUCK THAT GUY UP.

"Also, should I be imprisoned you have to free me. Those are my conditions."
