Phantasm the 1st | [Action]
[It's such a gorgeous night in Genessia City, isn't it? A nice temperature, a little bit of a drizzle and a waning crescent moon. You know what the night sky's missing? A gorgeous aurora borealis. And that's precisely what mysteriously appears in the night sky, shimmering into a beautiful spectrum of colors. It's truly a lovely sight to behold.
Isn't that a nice, pleasant change after all of the excitement recently? The lovely phenomenon to watch and behold after all of that tension...
Well, that is, until the calming air is broken by a horrible roar echoing in the distance.
The roar seems to have originated from somewhere around the Bay, where the aurora seems to be hanging over. What on earth could have possibly caused such a disturbance to be heard throughout the city?
Well, there doesn't seem to be anything unusual at the Bay... save for a particularly fluffy, white dog pattering around.
Nope, nothing unusual here... unless you might be sensative to magic, in which case, that cute little pomeranian may not be all that it seems.]
[ooc: if you have a character with magic or supernatural abilities of some kind, or someone inhuman, I have a permissions opt-in post over here for her being able to sense that! If you're okay with her being able to sense things about your character, please comment there and let me know! If you'd rather her not be able to, carry on, and her sensing will not work by default! Thanks! ♥]

Which isn't very long once he hears that guttural noise. Should probably look into that.
The Bay is the genesis of Genessia's weirdos, so that seems as good a place to investigate as any. Lo and behold: a doge. He's looking for a necklace.]
"Huh. You don't look the type to roar like that. Could you be a genuine animal, then, or another fake? It's not often the world abducts beasts."
[Talking to a dog like it understands English. He's a little more out of it than usual. His sense for the arcane is even worse than his mundane perception, so nothing seems odd.]

But something about this guy smelled weird. She couldn't put her finger on why... maybe this world was muddling her senses. Who knows. Still, the dog will look at him and tilts it head but acting like in true tiny dog nature, she'll seem like she got distracted by something else and start waddling off. No sign of whatever made that roar anywhere though.]

[Normally, he would go to comfort the dog, maybe call around for its owner. But he's had some bitterness on the subject of pets and reality, to put it mildly, and would rather abandon the thing if he can't ascertain how true it is. Well, so long as no one's getting attacked, it's probably all right. A mystery for someone else, no doubt. Farewell, random, presumably unreal dog. Ted hopes it didn't get flattened by a car or something.]
action;
Hello there, who are you?

Continuing to act as if she were nothing more than a regular puppy, she approached Fai to give him a quick sniff. The "dog" looked to prime up for a bark... and that horrible roar from moments ago came from its tiny maw instead.]
no subject
Are you looking for a place to stay? I can't tell if you have an owner or not, though...
[He wasn't sure if he could see a collar.]

Then she senses someone coming, making her think it must be one of the other pendant-wearers who don't know the concept of sleep too. She didn't pay it any attention and just feels miserable from the sip of cheap coffee, until she sees a dog show up in the corner of her eye instead of a human, causing Ayame to quirk her brow and look at Eidola. The dog is definitely not normal. Neither of them are, as Eidola would be able to sense. Ayame catches herself looking a little too long. Her mind drifting to how cute pomeranians look and wondering if her wolfdog Himiko would like small dogs like these. ]
That look suits you. Perhaps a ribbon would add a nice extra touch...
[ Ayame comments, still thinking fashion even for dogs, taking another sip of her coffee and just learning to tolerate it. The coffee machine must be filthy or something. Eugh. ]

The "pomeranian" would tilt its head at her, and looks like it primed for a tiny bark, only to let out that horrible roar again instead. She still looked happy as a clam though.]
no subject
That... was unexpected.
[ Ayame blinks, releasing that sudden build up of stress in a sigh as she shakes her head. Her hand instinctively wants to nurse her temples before she stops it halfway. Ayame thought she'd at least calmed down completely at this point, but without her half-sister Kanae, to help with her stress management, Ayame feels like she's going to need a week to recover and be normal again. Or be okay at faking being normal again ]
I-I don't know what else to say to you. Is there anything I can help you with?
no subject
Ooohh~ something like this must be normal to someone like you.
[That playful voice seemed to come out of no where, but it would have been easy to figure out that it came from the dog. Its fluffy body faded into a pink mist, which was quickly to shape into that of a twirling woman clad in a short lengthed, hood robe. She sat in the air, crossing a leg over the over and cupping her chin in her hand.]
You must forgive me, but I simply couldn't hold my curiosity. [Her curiosity in how many people she could freak out.] I'm truly surprised at how many simply weren't bothered by that little display.
Unless, of course, terrible noises in the night are normal for this place~.
no subject
...You will find that the "odd" is what's normal in this world. Most of us here are used to the supernatural.
[ Not counting the nigh-apathetic citizens who are really just soulless husks of meat. ]
Welcome to Genessia, I suppose. Apologies as well if your introduction has been met with slight disappointment.
[ She says, dryly. ]
no subject
Disappointment? Oh, quite the opposite. You see, where I hail from, that little trick would send entire kingdoms into a frenzy.
[What she of course means is that people that aren't freaked out are way more interesting.
She tilts her head the other direction, letting out a hum as she strikes a pose for Ayame, putting her slender legs more on display.]
What is it, darling? Enjoying the view?
no subject
[ Ayame answers, still shooting Eidola a puzzled expression. Just as her words finish, Eidola poses before her, following with those teasing words that caught Ayame off guard. A brow quirks and a slight flush of pink on her cheeks, Ayame frowns and glances away. ]
It's nothing. It's simply been a while since I've encountered an entity like yourself.
[ Ayame denies, taking a sip of that poor excuse of a coffee to match her poor excuse for looking at Eidola. Her mind as a fashion designer has really grown since her time here that even her seriousness at the moment wasn't enough to hold it back. She thought that side of her would have taken a backseat after Eidola turns out of her dog form.
But yes, the view is certainly enjoyed. ]
no subject
Ahh, I see. Well, don't you worry, darling. Your secret's safe with me.
[What she meant by that would certainly be obvious, but at least she'll give it a rest there. She's such a sweetheart like that (but not really).]
I suppose it would be seen as rude to many if I weren't to introduce myself. I'm known as Eidola Twili. What might bring a woman like you out this late?
no subject
When Eidola introduces herself, Ayame feels compelled to do the same ]
Some things have my mind occupied. Nothing you should feel concerned about.
[ Ayame sighs. At least Eidola has more manners than what her prejudice have made her think ]
In any case, it's good to be acquainted to you. You can call me Ayame... and I'm about to get a real drink.
[ Ayame starts to take a step away from the convenience store, turning her back on Eidola. Probably hit up a bar for something cheap and strong. She wouldn't mind if Eidola decide to part ways, although a side of her just craves company right now. After a few steps and some distance, Ayame calls out to her new acquaintance ]
Are you coming with or not?
[ Which would be hella awkward if Eidola says no, but understandable. She's a stranger offering free booze, but she's feeling generous right now so hey, might as well. Everyone could use a drink right now, she thinks ]
no subject
After Ayame called out to her she suddenly appeared to the other woman's side in the blink of an eye and decided that she wouldn't bother floating everywhere for once. A leisurely stroll next to her new 'friend' would surely be nice under the light of an aurora in the night, right?]
I appreciate the invitation, darling. I won't waste your time with those redundant questions that I'm sure have been asked on a daily basis here. [She's already quite familiar with things that can't be explained, thank you] Would it perhaps be too personal to ask what you do and how long you've been here for?
no subject
Tailor. For nine months now. Nearing ten.
[ She answers tersely. On July 1st, she would be here for ten months. Saying that out loud and realizing her achievements in such a short span of time, it helped lift Ayame's mood even a little. She sees a familiar street corner down the road, knowing there's a bar to the right of that. ]
