[Ever since Akira awoke from his cocoon and listened to the welcome spiel from the hologram near the Bay, he's been scouring the network for more detailed information about this place and the people who have ended up here. He's managed to learn a great many things just by getting lost in the posts for about an hour, and he's even seen a few familiar faces in the process. Knowing that he isn't alone here provides him with a small sense of relief, although his feelings about this whole situation are still very mixed.
The best way to get their attention would be to make a post of his own, but just saying something like "Hey *insert names here*, I'm here now" would be boring, not to mention obnoxious for everyone else who has to scroll past his post. Just having his name attached should be enough, so he should ask about something he hasn't managed to learn from his network surfing. He could introduce himself while he's at it like other newcomers, but none of the information he's willing to share about himself to a bunch of strangers is terribly interesting compared to the others, so he'll just get straight to the point.]
Question for the coffee lovers here: who has the best coffee in all of Genessia?
[Because he could really go for some coffee right now, okay.]
[ action; near the bay ]
[Anyone who happens to be walking near the Bay area before the network post may find a frizzy-haired, bespectacled teenager seated on a bench, eyes glued with intense focus to that tiny smartphone screen. Next to him is the white box every new arrival receives with a copy of the brochure from the magazine rack laying on top of it, signifying his newbie status. It's clear from the look in his eyes that the grogginess from his awakening hasn't fully worn off yet either; in fact, staring at a screen for such a long period of time is making him feel worse, but he wants to absorb as much information as he can while he tries to come to terms with this situation.
The more he learns, the harder it is to believe that this is all real, yet he has no choice but to accept it. It's fascinating, but thinking about what he's leaving behind fills him with sadness as well as anxiety due to the circumstances he left under, and it shows on his face.]
[ action; genessia city ]
[Akira can't just sit here going through posts and stewing in his thoughts all day, though. Shortly after he posts his message to the network, he slips the phone into his pocket and picks up the box and brochure as he rises to his feet. Shifting the box under his arm, he opens the brochure to the page that contains the map of Genessia City. Might as well check out his new place and drop off his stuff while he waits for responses, so he locates Genessia Commonspace on the map and takes a moment to plan his route before heading off.
He isn't used to following a paper map, so at times he may get a little lost into it and nearly bump into someone. That someone may be you. Fortunately, he has enough Proficiency to sidestep away from you moments before a collision can happen. It's still a little too close for comfort, though, so Akira looks up apologetically.]
Sorry.
[At least he didn't actually bump into you???]

Bright Sky Diner has the best espresso but their pots can go quite stale throughout the day. Unless Miss Okumura makes it, there's something left to be desired. There is praise to be given for the breakfast menu, however. Cat's Eye Cafe has the best selection. And cats. Teenie Teas has the best atmosphere and aromas but it's generally frowned upon if you ask for coffee instead of tea. The library is enjoyable but the person brewing is only a temporary fill-in and not quite as good as they could be.
Of course, I haven't tried everywhere yet but I'm almost certain nothing will come anywhere close to what I've gotten used to. You understand.
text;
Nothing? Really? If that's true, guess I'll have to work as a barista too and show everyone what real coffee tastes like.
Just how long have you been here, anyway?
text;
What to do about Akira Kurusu. He should be dead but he's been here long enough to know this place doesn't listen to laws of nature. Snatching from timelines as it sees fit. As much as it infuriates him to have his plans reversed in a way, it's... not completely awful that he's here. Back home, the deed would still be done.
Kurusu is more useful than the other two. That's all. No other reason. ]
Really. Leblanc seems to have ruined coffee for me. If you do, I'll be happy to be your first customer.
I've been here a month. Do you have any questions? I've been gathering as much information as possible. This place is quite unique.
text;
You'll be the first to know when I start working.
[He intends on keeping his word too, even though it's Akechi. It's just coffee and they'd be meeting in a public place, so it shouldn't be a problem.
But wow, a whole month? From Akira's perspective, they last saw each other less than a day ago. It's crazy, but he's willing to believe it at this point.]
No kidding. It feels like we're in a sci-fi movie. I managed to learn a lot of things just from surfing the network for a while so I'm good for now, but I might think of some after I settle in. Your new boss seems like a cool guy, by the way.
text;
[ It'd be a lie to say he didn't miss that. This place really is full of terrible coffee. ]
It certainly does. It's been an odd month, to say the least. I'm certainly glad the team seems to be gathering together here, even though the implications of us all being kidnapped to another dimension are a bit worrisome. I was starting to get lonely.
Don't hesitate to ask! I'm always willing to share information if I can. And he is cool, isn't he? The first adult I've spoken to who shared certain opinions. It's nice. He still makes me nervous though. I hear he can read minds.
text;
[Like that boss Akira hasn't figured out the identity of yet, maybe? As if Akechi would actually be dumb enough to namedrop them.]
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. And wow, really? Better keep your mind out of the gutter around him, then.
[He sure wishes he could read Akechi's mind too so he could figure out what goes on in that mysterious brain of his.]
text;
[ Nice try, Akira. ]
You're welcome. Goodness. I wasn't even thinking of that! He might go spilling my embarrassing secrets out to the world.
text;
What assholes. I hope your new coworkers are treating you better, at least.
That's a pretty scary thought. Don't worry though, even if he does, it won't change my opinion of you.
[Because he already knows Akechi's """embarrassing""" secret, oops.]
text;
social linksfriends here and have a less depressing answer to questions like these. ]So far, so good. That I'm the only non-native in the station outside of the girl in the file room makes me appealing.
Really? That's a nice thought but we couldn't possibly know if that was true.
text;
That's good. I'm impressed by how welcoming the adults here are to teenagers working with them and holding positions of power. Foreign teenagers, no less. Japan could certainly learn a thing or two from this place.
Of course it's true. I won't think any less of you just because you have an obscure fetish or an unconventional crush. I don't kinkshame.
[Because those are totally the only things he'd be hiding, right?]
Action; 1/2
U-uhmmm... I-I'm sorry! I didn't... mean to... [Wait... She glanced up to see who she nearly ran into.
Futaba had -- somehow -- missed the text from earlier, glancing over it. So nearly bumping into Akira was a bit of a surprise for her.]
Action; 2/2
A-Akira? When did you get here?! W-wait never mind that! J-Just... That way!
[She's trying to lead him away from the crowd of people while clinging onto his jacket sleeve.]
Action;
Too bad the same can't be said for her right now. He allows her to take him away from the crowd, walking with her until they're a good distance from the main pedestrian traffic area and giving her a moment to breathe.]
You okay now?
Action;
Y-Yeah... Thanks... I thought I was going to burst there....
[But that aside]
When did you get here?! Why didn't you try to contact Haru or me?
Action;
I've only been here for about an hour. I sent out the Phantom Thieves signal over the network just a few minutes ago.
[Apparently the Phantom Thieves signal is now coffee.]
Action;
Wait, coffee was the signal?
[Why wouldn't it be though...? Well, it seems accurate, so she'll go with it.]
A-Anyways... Haru and Akechi are here too.
Action;
[Don't take him seriously, Futaba.]
I noticed. I haven't heard from Haru yet, but I spoke to Akechi over the network already. Has he been behaving?
Action;
As far as he knows, we're still not privy to his plans. I've been playing nice for the time being, but I've been trying to keep my distance for now. As far as I know, he hasn't caused any problems, but I haven't quite looked into that just yet.
action;
So as she turned a corner, heading to her place of work she found herself stopping, avoiding the near collision.]
I'm sorry.
[As soon as she could tell who it was the surprise soon becoming apparent on her face. What was before her, really was not what she had been expecting today. But it doesn't take her long for her surprise to become a small smile.]
I'm...happy to see you.
action;
I almost didn't recognize you in that outfit. Going for the old-timey look now?
action;
[She probably would have picked something else if she did have a choice. Never the less there was definitely something she had to ask. Most important question.]
How long have you been here for?
action;
[He isn't just saying that to be nice, really! She really does look pretty in that dress.]
Not very long. Probably a couple hours by now? I ran into Futaba earlier too, and I talked to Akechi over the network.
action;
[She couldn't help but sigh at him mentioning he had seen Futaba. To Haru she knew that would have been a good thing for her. Possibly more so after the situation, they had found themselves in when they first arrived.]
I'm glad to hear you bumped into Futaba, I'm sure with you here she will be much better after all. [Although the mention of Akechi was a surprise to her. Until now she had been very much unaware.]
I didn't know he was here either.
action;
[Poor Futaba. When Haru mentions not knowing about Akechi, though, he gives her a look of surprise.]
Really? He told me he's been here for a month. If he's been laying low enough that you haven't even noticed him, I guess that's a good thing.
[He'd like to think it is, anyway. It doesn't seem likely that he'll be able to continue the mental shutdowns and psychotic breakdowns here, but who knows what else Akechi could be planning. There's still way too much about him that Akira doesn't know.]
action;
I'm glad as well. But I'm also glad that she is trying at least... Even after the incident, we both found ourselves in upon arriving here.
[A good thing indeed. It at least meant he wasn't doing anything, right? Haru had a little hope that was the case at least. As she looks to the side.]
Let us hope that it is a good thing and not something we need to worry about.
text;
I ended up purchasing my own espresso machine and practicing.
[ This is a question that has plagued her since her arrival three years ago- who actually makes decent coffee? The answer is that you cry into your coffee cup or learn to do it yourself. ]
text;
Wow. I'm not opposed to tea myself, but hearing that the coffee situation in Genessia is this bad is pretty depressing. I must have been brought here to fix it.
[They probably should have kidnapped Sojiro instead if that's the case-- but Akira is a close second!!]
For now though, I guess I'll settle for the Cat's Eye Cafe. Do they have actual cats, too?
text;
I'm fairly certain they do sometimes. Fai's a little peculiar, so I have no doubt that they're there somewhere. I get to-go orders a lot though so I don't often get to stick around.
[ Guardianing makes it hard to hang out in other archways and he hasn't opened one up in Nova yet. ]
If you're as good as you've implied, perhaps I can convince him to open one up next to the Skyrise and hire you as the barista.
text;
I'd be honored to show you my skills at a convenient time for you, or you and Fai if you can arrange it. Other than trying to get settled in, I don't really have much going on.
text;
I'll talk to him and see what he says.
[ She misses good coffee. She's gotten to the point with her making of it where it's more drinkable than Moonbucks but it's still not perfect-- which considering she's self-taught is to be expected. ]
text;
Excellent. I'll keep my schedule open in the meantime. By the way, what is Nova City like? I haven't actually seen it yet.

I don't know whether to feel insulted or not. But that isn't the point, I would be interested to see what you can do and always hiring anyway.
