Banquet 001 || Death Arrives || Action/Video
[Awakening in a cocoon was not a welcome change for Izanami. Was this an intervention by the Master Unit or was this somehow a trick of Rachel Alucard? Answers were needed. The Imperator moved out of her cocoon and moved out of the cavern and into the light. The voice of the hologram woman drew her attention. She listened to the message. Some mysterious force drew them here for unknown reasons? What an interesting turn of events.
Something new. Something unexpected. Izanami let the smallest smile spread over her face. She reached into her robes and retrieved the device the recording spoke to her of. What interesting technology. She ran her fingers over the device until she found the functions for communicating with others.]
[The video starts and a girl clad black and white robes with gold and purple decorations. Her red eyes stare into the camera with almost no emotions in them. As she speaks, her voice sounds as distant as the look in her eyes.]
I require a guide through this new world of possibilities. The materials given speak nothing of the nature of this world.
Present yourself to me and I shall judge if you are worthy to be my guide.
[With that, she just hangs up.]
[Action]
[Izanami was not one to simply sit and await a guide. She turned away from the magazine stand and made her way deeper into Genessia City. She would explore herself until she found a fitting and worthy guide. One who could assist in understanding the true nature of this world and why it had seen fit to being her here. A world that called upon Death was either a world close to its end or one foolish enough to believe it could tame Death.
Yet one at Death's door can do little, save knock.]

Why not! I hope it comes with a badge or a license or something. Wouldn't mind a material accolade. You're still at The Bay, then?
Ah, I'm Ted, by the way. What's your name?
Re: Video
No. I have moved from that location while I awaiting a response.
I am Hades: Izanami. You may address me as such or as The Imperator. You wish for a reward of material value for acting as my guide?
Is it only material wealth and recognition that you desire?
Re: Video -> Action
Ah...
[Man this is weird. He's met a "Hades" and an "Izanami".]
So, erm, you're...both? You don't look like the Izanami I saw a while ago.
Well, at any rate, I'll be right over!
[Thank you goku uniforms and your unnatural, inhuman speed. If she's grading on time, he's sure to get passing marks. He'll be at the library in a flash. Goes there all the time.]
Hello! Wonderful, sunny weather we're having, eh? Must not get much of that in the underworld.
[He slays him.]
So! Anywhere you want to see in particular, or shall I choose the sights myself?
Action
First tell me of this Izanami you saw some time ago. [If someone or something is impersonating her, she will see an end to it. Priorities.]
Re: Action
Well, for starters I'm reasonably certain she despised me. I'm not sure why. Grouchy temperament, perhaps. Like you, she had sinfully scarlet eyes. Her hair was much grayer, though. Older, perhaps. Suppose one would have to be to have been there from Japan's inception.
Mercifully she'd given up her vengeful oath to slay a thousand of her own children every day. Mysteriously, she still seemed to be fond of her country despite the, ah...aforementioned blood oath.
Or she may have been an insane woman. Those in such 'fun houses' often claim to be God, though why one would claim that god in particular mystifies me.
It's also possible she's a hulking, maggot-infested red skeleton embodying death and the vengeance of scorned wives the world over.
You're, ah...dressed much more elaborately, however!
[May that compliment smooth over the rest of his ramblings.]
Action
Hm. She matters not to me then. Should I meet her, perhaps I will speak with her of the nature of godhood and power.
Tell me of the nature of this world next. Walk as you discuss. Show me where the powerful gather in this city.
Re: Action
"Certainly. But you know, I'm deathly curious as to who it is I'm speaking to. Forgive me, it's of paramount importance.
Do you mean death? And if so, how do you mean it?"
Re: Action
You speak as Terumi does.
I mean not only death but the flow of time and events. Is this world a world of death? Is death permanent in this place? Furthermore, what controls this world?
Re: Action
[His countenance darkens a little more.]
"Yes; yes and no; hard to say. Spirits are our best guess."
[He answers, respectively and with as much detail as he's been given in kind.]
Just death, then? Nothing selective or purposeful behind it?
Action
You continue to speak in riddles and not answer my question.
I wish to know the nature of this world. Is this world broken or is it whole?
Re: Action
Oh, perfectly clear. But not as full as I'd like; elaboration would be welcome. "Death", you know, is a very broad thing. I'd like to know precisely and particularly what you mean by it.
Ah, well that's an easier question! "Broken", assuredly. It's a farcical place; it wants life, and will grasp at any straw in the universe to acquire even the smallest taste.
[There's a little mockery in his tone. A world that wants life makes a strange decision on inviting Hades, of all people]
Really, I'm surprised you couldn't suss that one out yourself. Whole! Genessia! What do your senses tell you? Goodness, we were just attacked by the most broken, deprived things the world's seen. And look around you! You see those others milling about?
[He made a passionate gestures to the crowds around them.]
Dolls. All dolls! They haven't got the sign, of course.
[He makes a quick yank on the chain of his necklace.]
Empty mannequins, and we their stewards! No; we're a long ways away from "whole."
Re: Action
I see. One last question. The death of the stewards of this world. Are they permanent? Do they die but once or are they trapped in the cycle of this world, forever coming back to simply die in another possibility?
Re: Action
[He chuckled like an idiot.]
That's two questions, but the virtue of charity is a fine thing. You speak of mere bodily death, correct? In that case, no, not usually. Death's price has been slashed, and now we need only bear the cost of diminishment rather than total cessation.
Re: Action
Two questions with the same answer and you have provided me with that answer. Begin your duties as my guide. Your worth will reveal itself through your actions and knowledge.
Re: Action
"Heh, all right. There's one place in particular that might stir you. Come along."
[The place he had in mind, Memoria Park, was a fifteen minute walk to the southwest. Surprisingly, Ted, unless prompted, wouldn't utter a single word along the way. He only smiled strangely.]
[They'd come to a shrine, passed without comment, towards an evergreen park with one feature that stood out beyond the rest: a giant stone slab. The names of all those who'd come and gone were etched indelibly therein. For Ted, it was the one graveyard they really had. Vulgar, too. One to share for everyone else. He let Hades or Izanami or whoever she was look at it for a good minute.]
"I have another riddle for you. What, to the living, is the meaningful difference between death and absence?"
Re: Action
[The Imperator answers. She observes the surroundings as they pass them. This world appears normal yet she feels the surface is a lie. Much like the repeating nightmare of her own world. This world is trapped and seeks freedom. Perhaps she can grant this world that freedom. The freedom to die.]
Re: Action
"Ah, so absence torments with hope, eh? Fair enough."
[He utters another strange chuckle. If someone asked him what was funny, he doubts he couldn't given a coherent answer.]
"Aha, is that what you think? Say, Ms. Hades and/or Izanami, how would you like to be enemies?"
Action
And so a hunched and bent figure in a hooded robes of the deepest black looking more like Death personified then even she, approaches the Imperator.]
You have a most remarkable aura, Madam... It called to me.
Re: Action
Not many are able to sense my presence. You are of interest to me. Why would one such as you be called by Death?

[Chiaki really didn't get it.]
