[This wasn't home! There wasn't nothing about it that was home! No Daddy or warm, familiar couch...not even the smells from the kitchen! It was scary and Tsumugi felt panic start to rise in her little heart. Automatically she gripped the box on her chest and smooshed it against her face, fighting to keep tears back. Shinobu and Kotori had said she was a big girl and big girls didn't just start crying.

Wiping her eyes she'd hopped out of the silver thing and wondered outside. The voice from the clear lady startled her and as she listened, she couldn't hold the tears back anymore.

She dropped the box, its contents falling everywhere as the phone opened to a video]

[VIDEO]

[Horrified crying errupts across the network, the video feed (slightly tilted) showing a little girl with far too much hair crying up at the figure before her (Weiss's hologram). Her little fists are clenched tightly at her side and she's only a few seconds from collapsing to the ground.]

[ When the video feed starts, it started blaring on Ayame's phone which she forgets to switch off while she keeps herself busy with cooking practice. The volume was loud enough to fill her apartment, and the sound of a child crying tugged at her heart enough to convince her to come out from self-imposed exile, and take action for once, even if it took a few seconds of looking at the screen with some minor hesitation. She's never seen anyone this young be brought in here before, and it makes Ayame wonder in the back of her mind just how low this world could go.

But as much as she wants to help, Ayame has little experience with helping children in this sort of situation. She's afraid of making the child feel worse, but not as much as putting her in the hands of some of the more unsavory people brought in here. Or even some the locals. With a sigh, she teleports near the Bay. She could have showed up right next to Tsumugi, but that would just freak the child out even more. Ayame hurries, only slowing down her pace when she's within a certain distance, and calling out to Tsumugi in a friendly voice with her hands out to appear non-threatening.

Ayame didn't even know what to say, and she thought she's gotten better with people during her time here. But she only really talked to people who've been here far longer than she had ]

Excuse me, young lady?

[ Ayame looks non-threatening enough in her pampered attire and the lack of nervousness evident in her body language. She looks more like an office lady in her day-off ]

My name is Ayame, I'm here to help you. It's okay.

[Tsumugi heard the other voice and shook her head. At least she wasn't screaming any more, but tears were still rolling down her cheeks. Little hiccups punctuated her sobs and she was rubbing her cheeks hard, trying to stop crying.]

T-tsumugi.

[Another sniff and she peers up at Ayame with big eyes. She looked so scared but trying not to be.]

[ A mix of relief and utter sympathy swirled in her heart upon seeing Tsumugi shake her head and look at her, remaining strong despite the tears in her eyes that reminded Ayame of someone she knows, and a time she remembers ]

Alright, Tsumugi.

[ Ayame says Tsumugi's name as a psychological tactic that she hopes would make the girl feel less afraid in this completely alien world. Names have a lot of power that way. She takes careful steps towards the girl, lowering her hands the closer she gets and stopping within a safe distance of Tsumugi. ]

It's going to be fine. I know it's a lot to take in, and it must feel like too much. But you're safe now. This place is peaceful.

[ For the most part, and it is quite peaceful now that the breach has been dealt with and Haller remains Guardian. Ayame has a lot of confidence in Haller, who just so happens to be the one who made the home for children here. ]

You need to be strong, okay? Come with me, Tsumugi, I'll take you somewhere else.

[ Ayame extends a helping hand, leaning forward with a kind expression on her face. She notices the hologram still playing, and the scattered items that pooled around Tsumugi. ]

[She nodded. Ayame-san sounded nice and she wasn't trying to make Tsumugi do anything. The little girl nodded before she looked down.]

Is...this really somewhere else? Have you been kidnapped too?

[Tsumugi looks at the offered hand then up at Ayame. A watery little smile crosses the girls face.]

I can be strong! Shinobu-chan says I should and now AYame-san does too!

[ Ayame feels her worries lessen as she watches Tsumugi nod, then look down and back up with a smile. She may be a complete stranger still, but Ayame is glad that Tsumugi manages to trust her enough. Ayame feels it was okay enough to step in closer after that, still holding out that hand that she uses to wipe the tears on Tsumugi's cheek, before placing it on the girl's shoulder. ]

Good, now let's pick these up and I'll answer your questions on the way.

[ Ayame rubs Tsumugi's shoulder with the same hand before she picks the items close to her left, like the folder containing the starter money for Tsumugi. Ayame stacks them together, offering to carry them for the girl. Ayame straightens herself back up, motioning Tsumugi to follow as she begins to walk away from the Bay. ]

Kidnapped may be a strong word to use. "Spirited away", perhaps would be the one I would call it.

[ Which may be referencing a famous animated film, but also non-joking pun, as it's the work of spirits that drew them here. ]

Think of it as stepping into a book. All of a sudden you're living in your favorite story.

[Pick..oh! She nods and skitters around, putting everything back in the box. She holds the phone in both hands, looking it over a bit before turning it around and holding it up to Ayame.]

What is this for?!

[She peers out from around the phone, blinking a bit.]

Spirited....away? Ah! A story? Really?

[Wait.]

Ayame-san, are you a princess?

That's a phone.

[ Ayame answers, walking side by side with Tsumugi and matching the pace of the girl's small steps. She couldn't help but smile at Tsumugi's next question, looking down at her side, seeing Tsumugi hold the glass phone in her hands. Ayame thought she could play along for a bit, hoping to help in making Tsumugi feel less uncomfortable in this new setting ]

A princess? Hmm. I don't know if a lowly tailor like myself is worthy to be, but I can make clothes for one. In this story, you're more likely to be the princess, and I am your most loyal servant.

Oh! and I can use it? Cool!

[Tsumugi holds the phone in one hand, automatically raising her other one to look for Ayame's. She got her own phone? Like the big kids did?! This was cool!]

Ah! Ayame-san can make clothes? Really?

[ Ayame smiles down at Tsumugi while they make it to the edge of the Bay. A brand new city graces the young girl's sight, and Ayame's too. With Tsumugi in tow, it was like seeing Genessia again for the first time, making Ayame feel a bit of fleeting nostalgia. ]

Yes, I can. That's my job in this city.

[ As a welcoming gift, Ayame thought about making something for Tsumugi, like a stuffed animal. Ayame walks them towards a pedestrian crosswalk, pushing the button to cross, just because she can, and to not influence Tsumugi the wrong way. She's a mom like that. ]

I have a tailoring business of my own where I make clothes for people. I can take you there some other time, would you like that?

[ Assuming someone didn't take Tsumugi in. She would love to, but she feels it's better for Tsumugi to be around kids to better get used to this world. Aside from her own problems that she doesn't want Tsumugi to see ]

[Ok, help people Louise. HELP THEM].

You got to chill a second, or no one can help you or answer questions. And trust me, you're going to have a LOT.

[Oh my god Louise].

[Her cheeks are still tear stained but she's not screaming anymore. Also the fact that Louise is a younger kid like her helps lots!]

Ayame came!

[She tilts her head a bit.]

Questions! What do I ask?

Oh. Yeah, right, good for Ayame, I guess.

What? I dunno kid, aren't you supposed to be asking ME the questions? I mean, you did pay attention to the annoying hologram tutorial, right?

[She has no idea what a hologram is, so she just shakes her head. She puffs her cheek out and glares a little though.]

There was a ghost lady here though! She scared me. Oh!

[Tsumugi lifts the necklace up.]

Does this belong to someone?

That wasn't a ghost, that's, like, a pre-recording.

[Ok, from WHEN was this girl, that was going to be important here on in].

Uh, yeah, you. It's super duper important you don't lose that either, ok?

[Oh boy].

Hey, uh, how old are you?

Recording? But those are just on discs or the machine Daddy has!

[Less time wibbly wobbly and more that she's never heard that word or concept before!

Her eyes widen and she stares at the necklace. You totally just made her day.]

Really?! For me? Heeee! I won't lose it!

[She grins and takes a moment to put it on, then look curiously at Louise.]

Tsumugi-chan is five! Why?

Discs? Oh, my dear, sweet child. Recordings can go on more than just disks, and you can definitely do more than just voices. Very retro, but useless in this day, you know? That recording you saw, that's what's called a hologram. It's a pre recording of a person, and it tells you some important stuff about this place.

Yeah, you really don't wanna do that. That's what makes it so you can go to different parts of this world. We all get one.

[Louise shows her own necklace].

Third person talk. K. Just need to know what I'm working with. Ok Tsumugi-chan. I'm Louise...uh, sama?

Oh. I didn't know I had to listen. Okay!

[And...she drops the phone and rushes over. You can hear the recording in the background. Once it's done, Tsumugi picks up the phone and a look of complete determination is on her face.]

I have to get to Kusanagi and Happer on 3rd and Dagwood.

[Hey, she tried. Now she's looking at the map. The green line is easy to spot but.]

Ahh...Lousie-sama? How do I get to 3rd and Dackwood?
