[ Taking up the bounty for herself, Mariko wanted to use this to field test something she wasted some money on - which was a protective body armor suit, made of durable fibers that protects from cuts and stabs. Now living with Gale and his girl Friday, Mariko got caught trying to leave the house wearing this black spysuit-looking thing that's the opposite of airy and loose that she usually wears. So after a humorous argument, Mariko got chaperoned by Gale to her first date with some bank-robber and his droids. In an outfit she's really regretting to wear due to the sweltering heat all over Nova City.
After a bit of crude profiling and making use of her basic criminology knowledge, Mariko and Gale managed to pick one likely bank to observe. Surveying the bank that's yet to be touched by the perpetrator, Mariko hides from plain sight by being on a rooftop that she can see the bank's main entrance from. Armed with her rifle, Mariko was in position and is just waiting for the perps to show. If they would. ]
It's really important to me that Konoka never finds out about this.
[ Mariko speaks to Gale through their wireless comms, referring to her catsuit that she's sure the other girl would never let her live down ]

One, saying that is just asking for trouble. Two, I don't have any idea who Konoka is.
[Honestly though, he didn't exactly want to announce that Mariko was in a catsuit to the world. The only thing hotter than the weather right now was that girl up on the rooftop, because wow Gale hadn't expected her of all people to have that kind of figure. It was a crime for her to hide that form under all that loose clothing. As fun as it would be to announce and brag that he's seen her in such an outfit, keeping it between them was just as satisfying.
... keeping his mind on the task at hand was probably a better idea than thinking about how much that outfit compliments her body though.
Gale had parked himself in an alley that had an easily accessible window to quickly get inside if the situation called for it. He'd already made the bank staff aware of their presence beforehand (you know, just in case someone called Weiss on them as if they were the criminals), so all it was was a waiting game. A long, long miserable waiting game in 100 degree weather. Gale was slumped over his motorcycle's handlebars, muttering profanities to himself in what sounded like German while he kept a close eye on the movement around them via his mask's HUD. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary for a day in Nova City yet.]
This damnable weather is just reminding me why I hated Amarys so much.

None of that matters now though. Hearing Gale mutter to himself makes Mariko sympathetic. She's dying in this heat so much that she's feeling laziness overtake her desire for that sweet level 3 pay reward. ]
Sounds like a place I'd hate too. Seriously can't wait for fall. I wanna wear jackets again like crazy.
[ Mariko peeks at the corner of the wall she's hiding behind. Trying to keep a low profile ]
But can't you use your ice magic on yourself?

He lifts his head slightly as if she were standing in front of him, even though he only could see the marker of her location on his HUD.]
Don't be stubborn like me and wear them anyway. [One look into Gale's wardrobe would reveal that everything he had was long-sleeved. Except the outfit he had commissioned while he was an incubus. That was likely the coolest thing he had temperature wise, but it just doesn't have the same effect when worn without wings.] Too much ice exposure messes with the cybernetics. And layin' on a hunk of purple ice in the middle of the city would look ridiculous.
I mean, I'd offer that to you, but I think it'd be hard to miss ice on a rooftop in the middle of a heatwave. That'd be one stupid way to blow our cover.

But it changes course to someplace different, away from their bank. Mariko sighs. It looks like this bounty is gonna be a bust, what with the criminal probably finding out that they're being hunted from the newspaper and probably have a bunch of trained hunters on them now. Mariko was about to suggest going back home, but just before she opens her mouth, a violent explosion shakes the immediate vicinity. The epicenter of the explosion seems to have come from inside the bank. ]
Not that I should say this, but finally. The explosion sounds very close to you though, are you okay?
[ Mariko asks, feeling her heart rate rise up at the sudden tremor in the ground that shook even the rooftop she was on, but in her mind she's wondering how these criminals have gotten in. Which leaves only one thing - they dug a hole underground. Mariko jumps from the rooftop and lands softly on the street, gripping her rifle just as she starts to hear screaming from inside the bank. Mariko runs towards the entrance, which was a grave mistake. As soon as the door opens, the drones were waiting for her inside and open fired. The sound of the barrage were loud enough to alert people the next block over.
Meanwhile, just as that occurs and Mariko asked Gale through their comms, a large robot crashes through the wall of the bank right by Gale, revealing itself to be an imposing and highly aggressive foe of metal and electricity. Despite it's large size and brute strength, it's speed is impeccable as evident in the feral tackle at Gale immediately right after it went through the wall like it's wet paper. ]
