18th Aura | Video

[Jaune is sitting in his office at Nova City's Guardian Skyrise. When the video starts, he's blaring some loud, classical rock music with unintelligible lyrics, which he quickly turns down. Oops. There's a lengthy looking scroll on his desk and you can see interesting decorating choices such as empty redbull cans, action figures of the other guardians and deputies that look like they were in mid-fight with the Weiss one on top of a book, and a chew toy.]

I think I mentioned before looking for a weapons expert. I kind of rushed into it when I asked that, when I should have spent time mastering and re-learning the basics.

Also, I don't think my armor's going to work for much longer. [He's not wearing it right now. It's way too hot for that.] I got a lot of good answers about breaking rocks, but I've finished the design since then, but I don't want to leave it with just anyone.

So, do you have any favorite blacksmiths? Even better, is anyone who's still here one?

Sounds about like what I usually make for midling paladins or gladiators. What materials did you have in mind?

Also, I believe I heard you mention an abandoned forge to someone else. Is there any chance you could direct me toward it? A base of operations to work from would be nice.

No...? Well, I suppose a different planet than this one might qualify, but I've never left my own willingly. Ancient Allag had the magitech to do so, but that knowledge has long been lost to us.

[She listens to the description he gives, hmm'ing thoughtfully at the shield part.] White metal, eh? And are you talking about clockwork mechanisms for the shield, or something magical in nature?

I don't mind working anywhere I can set up shop. I'm an adventurer; we go wherever our feet take us, but having a place to call home is always nice.

It is, yes. The Allagans used it extensively right up until their empire collapsed; today, the Garlean empire uses it, primarily because they cannot channel aether. Some have suggested that there is a connection between the two, but I honestly don't know for certain.

[She nods, and starts taking notes.] Yes, magic is quite common where I came from. I may be able to work both into your shield - clockwork can be damaged more easily than a solid shield, after all, so an enchantment to reinforce it wouldn't go amiss.

Where would you like to meet?

Aether is both power and life force. It flows through all things, and can be focused for fantastic feats. The calling of fireballs, the summoning of bound entities, even flight, if you have a mount capable of it. [It's more like aura than dust, but there's some intermingling there that could make it go either way.]

If you've the aptitude, I can teach you what I know. Be aware, however, that not everyone does; the Garleans I spoke of, to a man, are incapable of wielding aether. I'll meet you at the Skyrise; I need to learn the layout of these cities at any rate, and this is a prime opportunity to do so.

((OOC: I'm deeply sorry this took so long. x_x I've been down with severe pain the past week and a half.))
