So a belated congratulations to all current Guardians. I’m positive you will all do or continue to do a good job.

So like many of the other Guardians, I’m putting a call out for anyone interested in being a Deputy Guardian. Your job essentially would boil down to helping to protect Genessia City. For a while now I’ve only had Karla as a Deputy, but I think it is time to fix that. I don’t have any hard requirements for anyone interested in joining, there are many different ways that a person can help out with protecting the city. There are some possible changes that I’m considering for the future and having a full team could help with that.

On a different note, I am thinking about opening up an MMORPG style branch of Holodeck’d. Granted, there is no Online aspect of it, so I guess it’d just be an MMRPG. You’d be your character and be able to adopt the look of your character model, use your own physical movements to engage in combat, ect. I suppose this is an interest check for that as well.

I'm glad you got to serve another term as Guardian. That sure was a close race...

As for me, I'm happy to continue as your Deputy, and I think having more Deputies would help.

About the MMRPG thing, how much freedom would we get with character model customization?

I'm new here so if you don't mind me asking, what is a deputy? You mention protecting and such but is that it?

What is a MMRPG?

[Because this actually sounds...pretty awesome.]

I'd be down with a virtual RPG. It's sort of...like Star Trek, right? The holodeck?

A Deputy Guardians job is to help support the city Guardian, help with patrolling the city, helping to enforce the laws of the city, to watch over the city when the Guardian takes a day off or is absent for any reason. They are also expected to weigh in or give their opinion when important decisions or such are being made, though it’s up to the Guardian on how much they want to consider their words.

A Deputy Guardian can also be placed in charge of certain things, like how the Nova City Guardian has her city divided up with each one having their own sector. A Guardian needs to be able to basically rely on them for most anything and for the most part. Really, their list of duties will depend all on what the Guardian wants them to handle.

MMORPG stands for massively multiplayer online role-playing game. But since there wouldn't be an online aspect, it would just be massively multiplayer role-playing game. You'd basically assume the role of a character that you create and venture through a world gaining levels, completing task and quest, gaining equipment and new abilities dependent on the class that you select.

If you have ever played a console RPG in your time here, it is something like that.

That's pretty much the idea. I know people here aren't strangers to video games, but I don't think many have played one that way.

I never have played a console game. Or any video game. I have been wanting to try, though.

This would be very different from a console game, because you yourself would be your character. It's almost like playing pretend, if you could make what you were imagining appear in the real world.

Pretty much. Though I haven't settled on a theme, but I think the tried and true fantasy medieval style theme might work. [Because of D&D and all of that.]

I own a place called Holodeck'd. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in different scenarios by way of the technology it uses. The technology is capable of creating solid holograms to simulate opponents, an environment, just pretty much anything. It's that technology that would be used to make that game a reality. [Or well, a virtual reality.]

Hey, whatever theme you're working will work for me. I do love whacking monsters with a sword!

That sounds like it could be really interesting. It sounds a lot like virtual reality. Except without the VR headset.

What sort of characteristics are you looking for in a deputy? I have experience as a warrior, a diplomat, and a craftsman. At home, I was a member of a group called the Scions of the Seventh Dawn; we operated independently of the Grand Companies as a special missions force, often finding ourselves up against primal deities and other overwhelming odds. It was through our actions - both in combat and in diplomacy - that a thousand year war between man and dragon was brought to a close.

Indeed...Genessia City just wouldn't be the same without you as its Guardian.

I'm sure we'll get some takers. There are many here who would step up to protect the cities.
