[1. The Bay.]


Waking up in a strange place is exactly what Dray expected. After all, he has been hiding from the Guardians the night before. But now everything it's far more humid than he remembers and it doesn't look like a pit house, he can smell the salt in the air and that's uncommon in the valley. He notices the box and its contents only raise more questions than answers. He puts the necklace on immediately, not because its importance dawns on Dray but because he likes jewels and shiny things. He's never had much and he takes the box with him as he walks outside the cave.

Things must have changed a lot in Arcadia these last 10 years, Dray doesn't remember the valley having such a big lake. He can't even see the shore on the other side! But it doesn't matter because it's water and he hasn't had the chance to swim in a long, long time. Dropping the box on the sand, he run towards the waves with a manic grin on his face, tail swinging behind him.

[2. Around the cities.]

He's learned a bit more about the place he's in, not his world apparently, but Dray doesn't understand what sort of magic could have brought him here, and why. The creatures he can see are strange, bodies hairless like the elves of the high mountains but most of their skins look pale as a sheet. They're weird and he keeps his distance, moving quietly in the shadows and climbing to trees if he sees them.

Even the trees are wrong, though. Some are bare, made of metal and have a light at the top, like angry fireflies in the deep of the night. Dray is currently trying to climb one of those to see what's the light up there.

 

 

[3.Fai's cat cafe.]

Dray has mostly been avoiding everyone but when he spots what's inside the cafe, he can't help himself. It's been a while seen he's seen so many babies together, playing and purring and so unprotected, and he's immediately drawn to them.

He hugs the nearest cat, brings it to his chest and nuzzles the other feline, heart hurting. Dray misses his own baby, Arabel, but he hasn't managed to find him in this strange new world just yet.

[After the incomprehensible text, the device switches to video when the right button gets hit by accident. What can be seen on the screen is mostly just blackness and what seems to be a....giant tongue. And very sharp fangs, closing upon the camera. There's a crunching noise, a loud beep and then all that can be seen is a blur.

Dray got started and stopped gnawing on the communicator when it made an angry noise at him. Perhaps the weird thing is alive. He peers down at it and finally, a steady image can be seen. It's not all clear if the person looking down at the camera is male or female but it's sure covered in light golden hair and has two big ears on its head.]

[Fai mostly spent his time at the Cat's Eye so seeing people come in was normal. This was different. Somewhat. Was not the first cat person he had ever seen, however.]

Hello there, I guess you have a connection to cats?

[Dray's too busy purring and scratching the cats behind their ears to pay attention to his surroundings, otherwise his enhanced hearing would have warned him that the other was approaching. He almost jumps at the voice, his arms curling protectively around the cats and his ears dropping flat against his skull.

The creature spoke softly but he can't be sure that it isn't a threat. The question is an odd one and Dray finds himself asking him something back.]

That's the name of the animals.

[One cat jumped up close to him, as he gently petted them behind the ears.]

It's okay to have a connection to them though. They are adorable... Even if they can be mean to one another now and again.

No, they're not cats. They're Eidions, like me. Newborns.

[Draw frowns at the view, pursing his lips. He still doesn't know what sort of creature Fai is. He doesn't look ill even if he's all hairless, and the babies seems to like him.]

If they are mean maybe it's because they're hungry. What have you been feeding them?

I will put that down to their name in your world. But here baby cat's are called kitten and adult cats are cats.

[He gestured towards the bowls. There were quite a few and full of food he knew they could eat.]

Just whatever they are allowed to eat and not always cat food. Bowls of water and food are always out for them to eat, so it's not necessary because they are hungry.

[Pidge cleared her throat, once the person was no longer trying to eat their device.]

Hi there, this your first time you have seen something like that device? I might be able to help you know how to use it better, if you'd like. You aren't supposed to chew on it.

[Dray jumps back and out of frame when the voice speaks. When nothing happens, the Eidion approaches the metal box again and looks at it. There's a person....Kinda. A pixie? Must be really small to fit inside there.]

....Hello. I thought that maybe it had something inside. [It looked like a good place to store food to him.]

Well, there is some stuff inside, but unless you normally can eat glass and metal, not much that is worth chewing on.

[She chuckled slightly.]

Are you hungry? Or better yet, can you pick the thing back up, maybe I can figure out where you are, and come see you in person.

[Dray looks thoughtful for a second, considering what he's been told.] I could probably cut the metal but no, glass doesn't sound very tasty.

[His stomach growl, he hasn't eaten in two days, and that probably answers enough. When he grabs the camera, he's looking fairly embarrassed. Behind him, the bay can be seen.]

I can probably hunt something on my own, I...uhm...I'm just a bit out of practice. But come to see me? Aren't you seeing me now from inside this box?

Yeah... Not many I've met find those too tasty.

[She cocks her head to the side, wondering what kind of species the other was exactly, but she didn't want to be rude by asking.]

I don't know how much there is around here to hunt. There are some places that will sell you food, already prepared. Do you still have the slips that were tied with the red ribbon?

[Dray jumps away from the communicator when a voice speak, ears flattening against his skull.]

There's someone inside there. [He peers down, finally noticing Chiaki.] What's a phone? And are you a fairy?

The item you are currently holding is a phone and I am not a fairy, I am pretty much human.

[She paused before speaking again.]

As for if I am inside the phone, no. I live in an apartment, but I guess this item is something you are not overly familiar with.

Ah, so this is like those mirrors and orbs some witches use. Is the first time I see one up close, I didn't know those were called phones.

[Dray's ears flicker and he looks confused.]

Human? Is that why are you hairless? You are not sick?

They are in this world anyway.

[She nodded slightly.]

I am not currently sick anyway, but yes that is why.

Why are you climbing that?

[Rapunzel couldn't help but be slightly puzzled about what is going on and why he was if she had to be honest. But it looked like fun at the same time.]

[Dray startles, fur standing up for a second and ears alert, rushingly climbing to the top of the lamp. Then he notices the...girl? He's not sure what creature it is but it looks like a female. Dray peers down at her, perched on the street lamp.]

The views are better from up here. [And people can't reach him, that is a plus.] Who are you?

Oh, I'm Rapunzel. Though I'm sure there are better views that aren't from the lamppost.

[She just isn't sure which buildings one could do that one. But she figured she was helping in some way.]

I'm Dray...nice to meet you. It just seems safer to be up here. [One of his ears flicker. She seems nice and he can probably run faster than her if he has to.]

And I wanted to see if I could spot any familiar place.

[Dray's ears go up when a face appears on the screen. This one at least has some more fur on him. Everyone he's seen is so hairless and weird looking.]

I'm not injured...I thought maybe there was some food inside the metal box, I wasn't trying to eat you. [Since he's assuming Cassian is INSIDE the communicator.]

You're not... [ He pauses, backtracks mentally. ] You aren't familiar with comlinks, are you? With the technology?

[Huge blue eyes blink at Cassian and Dray says nothing. That should be answer enough.]

Eh...this is a bit like what oracles and witches use to see the future? I've heard stories.

Action at Nova City?

[aurabble]

[Jaune's hardly started his patrol in his section of Nova City, when a shadow of movement stops him and has him looking up.

He blinks a few times at the newcomer scaling the street light and ventures a question.]

Are you practicing parkour? [Pause.] It's not illegal or anything, I'm just-- I was just wondering.

Nova City it is.

[Dray startles at the sound and climbs up the lamppost in a rush, hair standing on end until he's put some distance between whatever this person is and him. He's silence for a few seconds before curiosity gets the best of him.]

I don't know what's that.
