Pond Life - OTA

Action:

Okay, so quick review. Bitten by a black cube that has done nothing at all for the past year, then wake up in a pod. Alright. Amy's dealt with weirder, to be sure. She sat up, read the pamphlet, put on the necklace, and tucked away the device and money in her pocket. She had a feeling the Doctor wouldn't be stupid enough to put the necklace on, and Rory wasn't here as near as she could tell, so one of them had to wear the thing to see what it did to them. Then again, if she didn't wear it, the Doctor WOULD be stupid enough to try it on, because he would have to know. Better she take the risk than he does.

She looked around, but the first area had little of interest other than the pod. Oh, she was sure that the Doctor would have done something with his sonic to determine a whole lot of nothing about it, tell everyone he knows exactly what is going on, the proceed to know exactly what is going on with three different answers over the next hour. Well, she had no sonic, but she did have working legs, so she'd use what she had.

She checked for exists other than the obvious one, then for lack of anything else to do, she took the obvious route and headed out.

Okay, talking hologram thing. Aright, still not the oddest thing she's seen. She listened to the speil, not really buying it, and took a pamphlet. Ugh, this was going to be Two Streams all over again. She was so going to punch the first robot she saw.

She found herself a wall to sit against and slid to the ground, fishing out the device. The Doctor, if the cubes didn't send him here, would be looking for her, and he'd have the Tardis checking for communications. And if the Doctor was here, he'd probably have half disassembled his device by now. Of course, if the Doctor was here, Rory was here, and he wouldn't take the thing apart. No, he'd be his usual stupid self, and would be listening. For her. So she'd give him something to listen to.

Voice:
[The voice that came from the communications device had an interesting mix of a Scottish accent and a British one. Female, to be sure, and not exactly pleased.]

"Alright then, come find me. I know you always do. And I know that if you're here too, you're listening. So you come find me."

[And then, with a bit more anger.]

"And to whoever brought us here, you just made a mistake, a huge mistake. Because he'll find me. He always always finds me. You might not think he's much seeing him, stupid face, beaky nose, that hair. But He's far older than he looks. Last of his kind. Looks human, both is and isn't where it counts. He has a name, but not one I'm about to share with the likes of you. But that's fine, history has its own name for him, and even if the history and time itself has been rewritten over and over again to try to erase him, it never will. And even not knowing why, his name brings terror to the enemies of earth. He's impaled cybermen, he's laughed in the face if Daleks. He's punched certain dictators I could name. He is the Last Centurion, and he is coming for me. And he'll be bringing the Doctor with him. So, I suggest you either do everything you can to bring us together, and apologize, or you do what everyone around the Doctor learns to do so well."

"Run."

"I've gotten good at waiting. Blame the Doctor for that," [she said, and you could almost hear the smirk in her voice, couldn't you?] "I'll be here. Unless something comes up and I have to run."

I'll try and be quick so that doesn't happen.

[There is a lightness in Belle's voice before she hangs up the device. She's quick to collect her things and then head out from her apartment. It's not so different from her village though Genessia has much larger buildings that are all pressed firmly together. Even so, she knows the way to the bay.

It takes her about ten minutes to walk there and when she arrives Amy will see a woman that's about her height wearing a light blue and white peasant dress. She walks up to Amy with a soft smile.]

Hello. Are you the one I spoke to?

"Not sure how many people you've spoken to, but I think so. Maybe I should have put the thing on video. Alright. So. you know the Doctor, I know the Doctor. Let's find the center of chaos, since that's where he's sure to turn up. Unless this place has a museum?"

And then, she couldn't resist. "Since I don't know you yet, but you know him... are you from my future or his past?"

Belle smiled softly at Amy though as the other woman continued her expression became more confused and unsure. "I don't know. Time doesn't appear to have a linear path here." She knew that Gaston had been brought here from a time before her though she hadn't been able to confirm details with him.

He wasn't the brightest crayon in the box.

"My name is Belle. It's nice to meet you. There hasn't been chaos lately but there is a library." It's similar to a museum since it has books from many different worlds. "I see him there fairly often." She doesn't always bother him since they both have work that needs to be done.

"Another place with time at multiple places? Or is time just broken again?" Important to know which, so she knew which kind of upset she ought to be.

"Amy. Amy..." she hesitated then grinned. "Williams, but if you ever tell my husband I said that, we'll have an issue," she said with a grin and a wink.

"A Library. Not sure if that counts, but if he's there a lot, it must. History section, I presume?" she asked with a grin.

Belle shook her head. "I don't know but I did meet someone from my home here but he seems to be taken from another point in time." It sounds broken to her.

Her lips tug into a smile. "I'll try to keep it a secret."

At Amy's question Belle nods. "The library in Genessia has books from many different worlds. I've never seen anything more amazing." She has a love for the written world.

"Right then, we'll check there. Failing that, we'll look for a museum. That's how he keeps score," she said with a grin. "Lead on." She likes books well enough, but generally would chose living adventures to reading about them.

Belle turned with a smile and headed to the library. She could walk there with her eyes close at this point.

"How long have you know the Doctor?"

"Oh, feels like forever some days," she said with a warm smile. "But then at the same time, there are whole months where I wonder if I know him at all, you know?"

Belle laughed softly. "I think I do." It wasn't something that she could rightly explain but she thought that she understood.

"It's only been a few months since we met but he is a dear friend of mine." He's someone that she cares about, through no fault of her own. She's happy to see that people who know him have arrived in Genessia.

She nodded. "Oh, he's my best friend," she said. She considered saying more but she probably should wait to make sure his time aligned with hers. If she could. She always was so much worse at keeping secrets than River.

Belle nodded her head once. "Then I'm happier that you're here. I think he misses his friends." Though Belle had only heard about Rose and that had been while the Doctor was sleeping. She'd looked over him that night but hadn't said a word since. It wasn't her place too.

"The library is just up here."

"Well, he has you and he has me," she said with a grin, looking forward to surprising him.

Belle laughed. "That's true." She hadn't had girl friends like this before and it was nice.

"Here." She paused at the front door before stepping inside. Amy will find that the library has books about almost everything.

Oh, female friends were the best. Just you wait. She grinned and followed her in, looking around.

Belle wanted Amy to feel the full affect of the library. Even now it took her breath away and she wondered if Amy would feel the same.

"The history section is back there." She looked over at Amy. "So? What do you think?"

"I think we need to be more quiet if he is there to try and sneak up on him." Not that she's ever managed to surprise him. She summoned him back from non-existance, and he was dressed and ready for her wedding. She'd surprise him one of these days. And she was hoping this would be that day.

Her eyes glittered with anticipation as she looked around, which could be about the books, to anyone who didn't know just how many years Amy Pond had been trying to surprise the Doctor.

Belle laughed before pressing her fingers against her lips. She rarely was this sort of sneaky though it sent a bit of a thrill through her limbs. It was an unexpected sort of fun.

"I don't see him." She whispered even though there wasn't anyone around them.

She moved with her, grinning and quiet, but the smile fell away when she realized Belle was right. She sighed. "My luck, he's going to be right behind me, waiting for me, or not here at all," she said softly.

"Should we look somewhere else?" Belle asked, unsure where else they might find that curious blue box of his.

"Yeah, probably should. Knowing him though he popped out for a snack and we won't see him for six months."

"How about I let you know if I seem him? I should be getting to work soon enough."

She sighed a bit and nodded. "I'll go back to where I started and look for clues. And... thanks."

Belle smiled, "You're welcome." With that she headed off towards Everglade where she worked.

And she headed back to where she had arrived.
