Pond Life - OTA
Action:
Okay, so quick review. Bitten by a black cube that has done nothing at all for the past year, then wake up in a pod. Alright. Amy's dealt with weirder, to be sure. She sat up, read the pamphlet, put on the necklace, and tucked away the device and money in her pocket. She had a feeling the Doctor wouldn't be stupid enough to put the necklace on, and Rory wasn't here as near as she could tell, so one of them had to wear the thing to see what it did to them. Then again, if she didn't wear it, the Doctor WOULD be stupid enough to try it on, because he would have to know. Better she take the risk than he does.
She looked around, but the first area had little of interest other than the pod. Oh, she was sure that the Doctor would have done something with his sonic to determine a whole lot of nothing about it, tell everyone he knows exactly what is going on, the proceed to know exactly what is going on with three different answers over the next hour. Well, she had no sonic, but she did have working legs, so she'd use what she had.
She checked for exists other than the obvious one, then for lack of anything else to do, she took the obvious route and headed out.
Okay, talking hologram thing. Aright, still not the oddest thing she's seen. She listened to the speil, not really buying it, and took a pamphlet. Ugh, this was going to be Two Streams all over again. She was so going to punch the first robot she saw.
She found herself a wall to sit against and slid to the ground, fishing out the device. The Doctor, if the cubes didn't send him here, would be looking for her, and he'd have the Tardis checking for communications. And if the Doctor was here, he'd probably have half disassembled his device by now. Of course, if the Doctor was here, Rory was here, and he wouldn't take the thing apart. No, he'd be his usual stupid self, and would be listening. For her. So she'd give him something to listen to.
Voice:
[The voice that came from the communications device had an interesting mix of a Scottish accent and a British one. Female, to be sure, and not exactly pleased.]
"Alright then, come find me. I know you always do. And I know that if you're here too, you're listening. So you come find me."
[And then, with a bit more anger.]
"And to whoever brought us here, you just made a mistake, a huge mistake. Because he'll find me. He always always finds me. You might not think he's much seeing him, stupid face, beaky nose, that hair. But He's far older than he looks. Last of his kind. Looks human, both is and isn't where it counts. He has a name, but not one I'm about to share with the likes of you. But that's fine, history has its own name for him, and even if the history and time itself has been rewritten over and over again to try to erase him, it never will. And even not knowing why, his name brings terror to the enemies of earth. He's impaled cybermen, he's laughed in the face if Daleks. He's punched certain dictators I could name. He is the Last Centurion, and he is coming for me. And he'll be bringing the Doctor with him. So, I suggest you either do everything you can to bring us together, and apologize, or you do what everyone around the Doctor learns to do so well."
"Run."

[Action]
"We're not in Kansas, anymore Dorthy. We're really not. Really not."
Re: [Action]
"Look, if I break any of your rules, you're going to be mad at me, and as I'd rather not have my best friend mad at me when I get back for something I've done this far back in your past, we need to figure this out, and get everyone who wants to go home, home, and get me back when I belong."
Clearly his inability to sit still and focus was a core trait to all his regenerations.
Re: [Action]
He is, however, working on a camera device that will swim underneath the water in the Bay - because why have the water so simulated?
Re: [Action]
Re: [Action]
"I don't know who River is. And I don't know why you have any preconceived notion that I have do any of that. Oh, look. Food's here." The banana milkshake is very fancy and could easily be a meal in itself.
"Why don't we take what we ordered to go?"
He doesn't trust this place worth two cents and without another word stands up with the banana milkshake in his hand and heading out the door. Which also means, sorry Amy you're stuck with the bill.
Re: [Action]
"Unless the waitress was secretly hiding an eyestalk in her forehead, what was that for?" she asked, as she caught up with him. "Or are you just rude in this regeneration?"
Re: [Action]
Amy's comment bothers him though- because she knows this face and if she's traveled with this version of him; she'd know that he's rude. Which a sinking pit in his stomach tells him that she found him dying - somewhere.
"And still not ginger."
Re: [Action]
She punched him in the arm lightly as they walked. "What's got you so upset this time?" she asked. "I wasn't going to actually keep the sonic if that's what you're worried about. I know how boys are with their toys." At that she nudged him with her shoulder a bit, trying to soften the words a bit. And to fight the urge to take his arm or lean against him.
Re: [Action]
dies.
And changes again.
He's not supposed to change again.
Which that itself is still being digested.
And is completely stiff when Amy punches his arm lightly, "Don't. Don't do that."
Ew. Worms.
Re: [Action]
"Look, you taught me, or will teach me an important lesson. And I don't think it counts as a spoiler to share this. "No matter how much you change, how young or how old you are. Even when time itself is broken, or there are more than one of you together, you're still the Doctor. There are parts of you that will never ever change. "There's a reason I na....." She winced. "right. Guess that one is a spoiler since you were as shocked as we were. Just... look. You're still my best friend, and being ginger won't change that, not being ginger won't either. I learned my lesson. The Doctor is the Doctor. And you are the Doctor. Unless you and River both lied to me, in which case I will be quite furious with her when we get home, and you now. Got that?"
Re: [Action]
"Of course I'm The Doctor. Who else would I be?" And twirls his sonic screwdriver in his free hand to remind her of that.
"Look, I know my rules. But - I need to know. How do you know my face? It's important."
There's something about his eyes that suggest that it will affect how he views her.
Re: [Action]
"I don't know what caused you to regenerate, and not sure I should tell you even if I did know. But I know that I saw you at the end of the regeneration." Forget the rules. Forget them. She pulled back to look at him. "You were, as you put it, still cooking, when we met. You were quite possibly the oddest man I had ever met. And it was years before you realized how much a mess you looked." A small sad smile. "But that's why you've always been and will always be my Raggedy Doctor." She kissed his forehead.
[Action]
"This is a multiverse hub if you haven't figured that out."
Re: [Action]
What... didn't he want? Whatever it was, her kiss sure cut that off. But then that usually worked on Rory. First time it's worked so well on him. Getting to know this face might just be fun!
[Action]
Re: [Action]
Yes, she was smirking and teasing at him.
Re: [Action]
"So- what's going on - this place is an experiment or was an experiment rather. As far as what it is now probably another experiment - taking the best qualities of each creature here and creating one perfect multiverse version.... or repopulating."
To be honest possibility both, repopulating with the best of the best genes because you give up what you don't want to for something else and one of those things, both Ten and Amy are standing; aka The Tardis.
Re: [Action]
"Wait, this place is trying to breed us?" she had to have heard that wrong. Had to have.
