[Action - At night time naturally]

Having woken up in some kind of pod in a room full of water Edith was understandably freaking out. Her first instinct was to use obfuscate so she wouldn't be seen as she left the room to see what was going on. But since there was no one around she dropped it after a few moments.

She'd seen the hologram, and had found it impressive, but she also didn't believe it.

The last time she had found herself in a situation that made no sense it was because she and her friends had been trapped by an illusion made by a strix-possessed nosferatu. Edith looked at her hand remembering how Damian had broken out of the trap, and after a moments hesitation, closed her eyes and bit into the heel of it.

Nothing had changed when she opened them. Damn it.

Not knowing what to do now Eidth grabbed a map, along with a few flyers tucking them away in the box she had woken up with before moving on.

And so the teenager could be found wandering the city, box tucked under one arm, map in one hand, and her phone from home in the other as she fruitlessly tried to phone home. She hadn't healed her hand yet, she figured she couldn't waste the Vitae until she knew more about what was happening.

"Maybe a text would work better." She said to herself as she gave up trying to call. "Last time those still worked... ugh if I've been walking around in circles this whole time Cassandra's never going to let me forg-oof"

Edith fell back on her backside as she bounce off whoever she had just walked into.

"Oh! Sorry!" She said reflexively, looking up to see who she had bumped into.

[Kay might be helping Cassian in Attleton as a voluntary deputy but he still has his first job at the Velvet Lust bar. It closes late at night so it's not unusual to see him walking the city at unholy hours, heading home.

What's unusual is to see someone else walking the streets at this hour. Or not see them, rather. Kay doesn't see the girl until she bumps into him and, given how he's basically a 7ft block of metal, it's not surprising that she goes down. Kay immediately reaches out, offering her a metal hand.]

It's all right. It hurt you more than it hurt me.

[Edith had been introduced to a lot of strange strange things since she had died, different kinds of vampires, ghouls, hunters, magic users, she had even seen a demon and Angel fighting.

But she had never been introduced to droids.]

You're a... robot?

[His hand is still outstretched, lady!]

[And her stuff is still scattered all over the floor, give her a second here!]

A droid...sorry I didn't mean to imply you didn't think for yourself it's just that I've never...

[Finally she takes the droid's hand and pulls herself up to her feet.]

I've never seen a robot, or droid or anything like you before. What's your name? [ Did he have a name? Did he even had a gender? Should she be using 'they'?]

I would never have guessed. [Kay can't probalby sounds less flat if he tried. It's not hard to come to the conclusion that the girl is new.] It okay, I get that a lot. I'm not offended.

I'm a KX series enforcer droid and my name is K2SO. Kaytoo for short, if you want. There are others droid in Nova city, they're not from my world but they're also autonomous. What's your name?

[Edith all but winces] Sorry.

I'm Edith Gale. I work for Mr Banks at Acutis Diagnostics. [Don't mind her casually name dropping her boss, the prince of New York, just in case this is an illusion by another vampire. You had to be very brave or very stupid to anger one Augustus Banks and kidnapping one of his sheriffs would do it.]

Nova city? I think I saw that on the map. [Yes Edith the map that's still on the ground by your feet along with the rest of your stuff. Finally she crouches down and starts picking it up and putting it back in the box.]

No need to apologize, Edith Gale. [Kay's optics shift slightly but there's clearly no recognition at all upon hearing her boss's name.]What is Acutis Diagnostics? Some sort of health care center?

It's one of the biggest cities here and the most modern. [Oh right, everything fell to the floor. Kay leans over, helping her to gather her things.] You are new here, I'm sure things are very confusing for you now. Did you see the hologram? The one with the white haired woman.

Just Edith is fine, Kaytoo. [Edith was very glad she hadn't woken up with the knife Damian had given her now, she didn't know the knife laws of this place and if Kaytoo was cop like she thought it might have led to an awkward conversation.]

It's not really a health care centre, it deals with the control and safe disposal of poisons. [Although when working for a Vampire that's part of Brothers of Ypres like Augustus Banks meant disposal was usually passed up for storage.]

"I did, I didn't believe it though.

[She might have been starting to however. She was at least willing to play along and see where this went since mentioning her boss got no reaction whatsoever and Keytoo was actually being pretty nice.]

Very well, Edith it is. [A lot of the citizens carried weapons, some were weapons themselves so having a knife in your possession wasn't illegal per se. Stabbing people with it was a different issue.] Ah, I see. I'm not sure if we have anything like that in the cities. There's fives of them.

[Kay nods, understanding.] Not many do, at first. But if you explore around you will realize it wasn't trying to scare you, it's all true. No problem at all.

[sadsheriff]

I guess that's a good thing then. I mean no one wants so much poison floating around you need a company just to deal with it all.

[That also meant there probably wasn't anyone from Augsutus clan here, not that she owed any allegiance to them, but she could at least have had a place to start looking into for Kindred society.]

You've made a pretty good start at showing me this place isn't scary yourself.

That seems like it would only cause trouble so, yes, a good thing.

[Kay tilts his head, posture relaxing more at the nice word.]

[Haru had moved to kneel down making sure that other was perfectly okay first. Why the young woman was out at night was really any ones guess.]

Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?

[Edith was starting to get a little too used to dealing with people at night, the fact it unusual for a young woman to be out now was a little lost on her.]

That's okay it was my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going.

[The girl started picking up her belongings, along with the map and leaflets that were found by the bay, don't mind the angry looking bite mark on her hand.]

I'm fine, just a little lost.

[Haru looked around, making sure everything was okay and that everything had been picked up before speaking again.]

Where were you planning on going? I haven't been here long, but I know the streets well enough to know certain areas.

I guess the first stop should be the apartments? The hologram said I could claim one for free for my first month here.

I've never been that good at reading maps though. [Eidth grins sheepishly.] Honestly it's a feat that I'm even holding it the right way up.

Ah, that's right... I wasn't at them for long myself before I got another place.

[But she had been lucky enough that someone she knew had arrived before her and they just decided to live together.]

Was it hard picking a new place? [Edith nods down to the box in her arms, full of her few belongs and many leaflets.] There seems to be so many to chose from.

[She nodded slightly as she started to walk.]

For me it was. I never really lived anywhere that was home. So finding a place or style of place I hadn't before was a new and tough experience. More so that I had to take many things into account, like my roommate.

[Esepcially when considering her roommate really.]

Your Roommate? I hope he wasn't as bad as my last roommate that... [Edith shakes her head not wanting to talk about it.]

You'd think finding a place would be easy but yeah, there's always things you have to take account.

Different than what I am used to, but fun at the same time. [She nodded slightly, it wasn't anything that she knew before now anyway.]

Although for places, I wouldn't suggest above a bar unless you can drink. It's cheap sure, but... again above a bar.

[Edith mulled over the advice, it would have been good advice back when she had still been a student, but now... night time noise wouldn't matter since she'd probably be out at night...then again how secure could a flat like that be?]

Yeah, that's good advice. Noisy, strange people coming and going and all that, not a good place for someone on their own.

Yeah that too... although getting ID must be murder around here, its not like we can just send the people in charge our birth certificate. [Edith smiles a little at her bad attempt at humour.]

It's okay, I don't think I ever introduced myself either. I'm Edith Gale.

[Edith holds out a hand to shake.]

But yet they seem to be able to tell how old we are somehow and let those who say they are old enough to drink. Which I heard here is eighteen.

[She holds out her hand to shake the others with a gentle smile, she was at least she was doing a proper introduction.]

Like wise. [Edith's hand would be cold as they shook hands]

and they just magically know hold old we are? Well that isn't creepy at all.

I guess so, I assume by our devices we have or something, I haven't been here long to ask or really know, but I've not really seen much in forms of ID either, so there has to be someway.
